Fantasy football Trends From The Top – GW29
Welcome to this week’s edition of Trends From the Top. What have the leaders been up to and what will our leaders being doing as we edge towards the end of the season? Let’s take a look and see what trends if any ensued.
Who were the most popular players chosen by the top ten for Gameweek 29?
Goalkeepers: This week was rather interesting as our top managers selected 7 different goalkeepers. This is in fact the most diverse we have seen this category for the entire season. Hart, Courtois and Butland were the most popular picks coming in at 20% ownership while Forster, de Gea, Schmeichel and Fabianski each came in with 10%.
Defenders: As usual, we saw a plethora of defenders played by the top ten; a total of 14 different players. Alderweireld and Azpilicueta were the most popular picks as 5 of the 10 managers selected both. Fuchs and Huth came in at 30% ownership while Sagna, van Dijk, Francis, Fonte, Williams and Cresswell each had 20%. The remaining defenders all came in with 10% ownership: Kompany, Dier, Otamendi and Simpson.
Midfielders: When you look at midfielders, the top 10 managers had 12 different picks with several getting only 10% of the vote such as Sanchez, Ayew, Sigurdsson, and Fabregas. 100% of managers selected Mahrez followed by Payet with 80%, Ozil with 60%, Firmino, Barkley, Silva and Willian with 30%, and Alli with 20%.
Forwards: This week, the front line consisted of only 5 picks among the top managers. 100% had Vardy yet out of those 9 managers, none of them gave Vardy the armband. Aguero with an ownership rate of 90% and was selected as captain for all the top teams less one which selected Lukaku. Kane and Lukaku each had an ownership ate of 30% while Afobe came in at 20%.

In summation, the Must-Haves for top managers for Gameweek 29 were Alderweireld, Azpilicueta, Payet, Mahrez, Ozil, Vardy and Aguero as they all had an ownership rate of 50% or higher.
Other interesting facts:
* The average score for Gameweek 29 among the top 10 was 80.0 points which was an impressive 27 points above average for the week.
* The average team/club value was 107.5 with 110.1 being the most expensive team and 105.4 being the cheapest team.
* Most of the leaders have deployed all their chips.
* England represented 40% the leader board as while the other countries represented were Australia (currently in the lead), Sweden (20%), Canada, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Scotland.
Hope this was useful!
Best of luck in Gameweek 30!

Morning all only have 7 to play GW30 still have 1 FT & will take a hit that will make 9 & that will have to do , how’s everyone else team looking ???
IF arsenal plays i have 13 players if not 11
I’m the same boat, 13 if Arsenal play, 12 if they don’t.
tbf my last few transfers had this short week in mind so i had cover
Thanks Beka for keeping us in touch with those at the top – be interesting to see how this lot get on next week!
Cookie,
Right on. And using most all of their chips also pleases me. A great week-90-and moved up close on my league wannabes. Any time I need to reassure myself, and cheer myself as well, I remind myself that the wannabes, now narrowly ahead, have also burned most of their chips, some in totally incomprehensible circumstances. Bring on gw30, and beyond.
Nice work Ki – sadly I have burned my wildcard, so will need to hit a bit from now on, but that’s life!
Anyone going to participate in T20 Fantasy?
Do we know of any website with tips for cricket?
Yeah B, Kop and myself are in and a few others…..
League code: FF247T20
Password: FF247T20
I haven’t seen a site for Tips though the official one should provide some info
Thanks Cook! Ill join it soon.
Want to do good in this format since a work league is also set up with cash prize. B)
Cookie till which match is Phase 1 considered? Can’t see it anywhere explained?
So little info it’s not true Snookie! Go away and figure it for yourself is the best I could get! Looks like half the teams play for the next few weeks (the shit ones) and then they get to the join in on the main party next month. Guessing we have to start with the poor bunch tomorrow but who knows!
This site helped me in the past, not involved myself this time, but I still had it bookmarked. Hopefully one of you find it useful. http://www.sportskeeda.com/cricket/2016-icc-world-t20-fantasy-guru-uncharted-associate-waters
Snookie,
Phase 1 is the first 12 matches where all the smaller teams play off in 2 groups.
You have unlimited transfers until game 1 starts this morning then a further 24 to be used in phase 1.
So basically just concentrate on Phase 1 for now.
A bit more information – this is all on the site under “How to Play”
And more
Thanks Mito, noted and used, very helpful.
Hey how about just make a different page or something like that for the whole tournament, where we can talk about teams and strategies and all that? Bz it’s difficult and making football related articles mess
+1 Snookie
Cheers!
Finally a good GW and number one spot in my ML, cash in the pot!
86 points is a decent run, the others did 60-70 (most of them have no clue of whats going in with the dgw’s).
So I was wondering what I should do with my 2FT’s.
I was thinking of one move, Hen for Butland, but that leaves me with 0.0 ITB.
My team below
Cheers, and thanks for the top trends! Always intresting to see what I do wrong and they do correct
Hi Tooker, you’re in a decent spot for this week too, you can keep Payet and Ozil and still field a team. Yeah you may as well switch Henn with that freebie. How about looking at someone who’s going to have a DGW coming up? I know Henn does if he’s back but there are much better options than him. Someone with a double and who also rotates ok with Forster would be ideal.
Hey init! Thanks for the replay. And yes, a decent spot. I’ll look some norr after a GK that has dgw’s (and I won’t look anywhere close to Mignolet).
Maybe Adrian, have Watford and United home to play in dgw’s.
And I’m thinking of saving one of my FT, if there isn’t anything catastrophic happening with any of my players
Guys need your help..which team that have a possible DGW in Gw34?it will hep alot..tq
Probably City vs Newcastle and Everton vs Liverpool
Casey, here are all the games yet to be rearranged…
Init,
An sense of how they might break up the games 34/37, r is it just too soon? Thanks.
Sorry, my keyboard is shot.
You’d have to assume that those with 2 to play would scratch one of those off in 34 but beyond that no I’m none the wiser.
Just a quick one here and it’s just a fantasy probably. But if Everton end up with 3 games owed is there a possibility of a triple game week? With them playing on a Monday,Thursday and Sunday maybe? ?
Matt I think, without looking at it properly again, that that’s a distinct possibility. Everton have double jeopardy in 35 as even if they lose to Chelsea their fixture could be off if Palace win. Not that they do that very often these days!
Wow I thought I was dreaming when I came up with that one but would be handy to have a few Everton players that week haha!!
Matt, the way you have put it, the Sunday game would be in the next gameweek.
Elle, I was thinking that but then thought maybe the FA Cup final weekend could be the Sunday I don’t think anyone else plays that weekend apart from the teams in the final. Could be wrong though
Init and MattX,
Thanks for the comments and speculation. Whichever way one cuts it, it seems to me that being prepared for gw30 almost necessitates a WC move to get ready for games being stacked up, as many of the teams are missing the coming weekend. Good thing I…
… asked for a new keyboard for my birthday?!
Matt, the league will be over before the cup final, believe me. We may get Saturday, Monday and Thursday in one game week.
Matt, the finals May 21st which is the week after GW38 and one things for sure nobody can play after that final day.
Yeah I looked up the date after I commented and realised it was after the season ends haha.
Great stuff Beka, many thanks as always. The gap is closing a wee bit but i fear it’s too little too late. Plug away and gain respectability and go again next year! Cheers!
