Who are you? Who are you? Fantasy manager profiles Part 12

Here at FF247 towers we’ve often wondered what driving forces hide behind a comment or a rate my team reply, do we really know the mindset and the persona of the people we are conversing with?! To find the answers to these questions we have lured some regulars from out of their caves and got them to endure a simple Q&A session.
Hopefully this will help us to uncover whether each member can be viewed as a ‘fellow sports enthusiast’, ‘colleague’, ‘fantasy friend’, ‘internet troll’ or indeed ‘sociopath’! Let’s take a look inside the minds of our latest two ‘victims’ then and see whether, hiding behind the cute monkey gravatars, lurks a sadistic, megalomaniacal, psychotic keyboard warrior. Or just a normal guy or gal who likes to play fantasy football…
We will add a disclaimer here – we have resolved to not edit what is sent in at all. What you see is what you (we) get. FPL ranks were correct at the time of sending as well so may be much worse by now! Or better…
Next up to the examination table are the swirly and Horse.

Any thoughts on either Sterling and Hazard or Fab and Di Maria?

This WC stuff is a killer! So after another evening of tinkering and analysing this is where I’m at now. Off to bed soon so I’ll leave this for hopefully another audience to comment on if they feel inclined?! The 3 cheap mids rotate well enough to allow 2 alongside Haz and Sanchez every week. The defence rotates ok but not perfectly. Costa and Kun are set in stone although I’m actually considering leaving Kun out for Rooney or RvP this week only and putting Kun in next week given that Utd have LEI at home this week. Thoughts on that? Don’t touch Defoe. He’s my Wildcarders wildcard laugh Thanks in advance!

Init – I’ll do my best to keep my hands off Defoe 😉

As I see it, the untouchables in your squad are Foster, Clyne, Terry, Sanchez, Hazard, Aguero, Costa (OK and Defoe!). I’d be adding a playing keeper. Whilst I’m not buying the love for Arsenal defence at the moment, you can’t really go wrong at 4.4m, especially given the competition (ie the lack thereof) in that price range. I’d actually think about downgrading Siggy to a 5th midfielder and upgrading Puncheon. In this regard, note that the median points tally for the top 10-15 players in each position strongly favours the midfield. The trend seems to be improving as well, meaning that we should expect to see more points scored by more midfielders. With this in mind, I’d be suggesting beefing up the 3rd midfielder somewhat. How about Siggy, Puncheon and Myhill (15.8m inc money ITB) to Henderson, Boyd and Begovic (15.7m)? Gives you 2 very solid playing GKs who are expected to keep a raft of clean sheets going forward, and gives you the benefit of Liverpool coverage (Henderson) who are on the improve and should see out the season very strongly. Having both Costa and Kun does limit your options unfortunately.

Cookie ignored my advice last week on Ben Mee, so feel free to do the same at your peril 😉

      Morning Init,

I glad my WC is gone! It can send you mad . . . .

I like the WBA goalkeepers, definitely think you are OK there.

      Strikers top notch.

I’m considering Elia myself, he could be the man of the second half of the season. Playing in an attacking role for a third placed side and for just 5.5. Seems as well his past problems could be over as it looks like he is knuckling down for his new manager. Definitely like him. Puncheon probably about to embark on his purple patch so wouldn’t critise that. Again though, I’m moving away from Siggy, don’t think Swansea are going to react particularly well to losing Bony. May be wrong but I think they’ll need to adjust and that could blunt Siggy’s point scoring pull. My preference is for Chadli, don’t know how that sits with your rotational plan.

Love the defence, well worth going with.

You do realise there is still over a week to go of WC tinkering 😉

Init- Like I said yesterday I really like that team due to the fact that this is my team! I must admit, I stole your idea of going myhill as that then allows me to get Bertrand instead of Jones. With your team I agree with anyne that suggests Siggy must go. I think the Swans are shot now, ever since I watched them playing against Liverpool. I would anyone from Downing, Henderson, Chadli, Johnson. Also your move of playing Rooney just this weekend is brilliant! (once again I had been thinking of that 😉 ) only issue is then who would you bench for the weekend?

      migs says:

Sorry Init, one more to consider, a bit of a punt but fixtures aren’t at all bad, what about Walters?

    • 33.5
      inittowinit says:

Ok then, thanks Blue, GP and Migs. Siggy not getting much love there! That’s probably the only thing I’ll change now I think and did have Chadli at one point yesterday so I’ll probably revert to that again. Migs, Siggy was the one due for bench duty this week due to him being at Southampton and the other 2 being at home. That may still be the case with Chadli. I’m seriously considering the Rooney plan but if I do Chadli that leaves little room for manoeuvre on price changes so it’d have to be an early transfer as Aguero will be a popular buy next week you’d have to think with Hull at home. Walters may be a gamble too far!

Clyne, Cahill, Van Aanholt, (Hutton), (Wisdom)

    Rooney, Costa, Kane

    Thanks !!

Forgot to mention – 0.1 in bank and sitting on 2 FT!! Would like Aguero, but doesn’t really make too much sense in swapping him for Rooney (Leicester) and downgrading Cahill..

      Silverback says:

Hey Tony this is a good team only obvious one is no Kun but you do have Silva , keep an eye on Rooney as he’s been playing deeper but has good fixtures , if Bony gets regular place @ City might be worth changing Roo > Bony & Silva > ADM Good to go for now
