Who are you? Who are you? Fantasy manager profiles Part 5
Here at FF247 towers we’ve often wondered what driving forces hide behind a comment or a rate my team reply, do we really know the mindset and the persona of the people we are conversing with?! To find the answers to these questions we have lured some regulars from out of their caves and got them to endure a simple Q&A session.
Hopefully this will help us to uncover whether each member can be viewed as a ‘fellow sports enthusiast’, ‘colleague’, ‘fantasy friend’, ‘internet troll’ or indeed ‘sociopath’! Let’s take a look inside the minds of our latest two ‘victims’ then and see whether, hiding behind the cute monkey gravatars, lurks a sadistic, megalomaniacal, psychotic keyboard warrior. Or just a normal guy or gal who likes to play fantasy football…
We will add a disclaimer here – we have resolved to not edit what is sent in at all. What you see is what you (we) get. And no Bench, we aren’t just saying that because it’s your turn 😉

Current position for the season……….Absolutely horrific start. Currently it’s on 575,097.
Planned finish (at the start of the season)for the BPL FF game in 2014/2015:….. Get 1st and get that free ticket to the Emirates.
Expected finish for the BPL FF game in 2014/2015:……Improve and better my performance to get into the top 10k which is seeming more than unlikely.
Tell us about yourself in less than 50 words:……A student who picked up his first job after dropping out from school and then dropped out from that job again due to the lack of patience. A big Arsenal fan and a greater Santi Cazorla fan. Love a good banter and love FPL, it has now been a part and parcel of my life.

Food:…..Indian food naturally and a special mention to Tandoor chicken. French is also not too bad.
Drink:…..Beer,champagne
Band/Type of music:…..Bryan Adams, Def leppard, John Denver (solo country music)….not into hard rock. Alternative rock is OK. Alterbridge, Sylvan etc etc.
TV Programme:……Game of Thrones as simple as that.
Films:……The Shawshank Redemption,well there’s a thousand movies that I like but can’t name them all….can we?

Joke………….It was with a computer password. I put up “mypenis” in anger because it was getting on my nerves with all those shite character insertion and all. And on the screen it says “not long enough”.
Country visited (and state why!):……Egypt (To visit my uncle over there and anyway it became a holiday destination for us).
Country would most like to visit (and state why!)………England (London).. Well to catch up with some of my mates of the FF247 community over a can of beer and then visit Emirates. Well it would happen soon I guess.

Again some surprising results this week end…Spurs loosing at home. City losing to a very good West ham and last but not least a United draw that seem like a mental victory for the team! 😉

Haha well I am on 11082 ranking so I am keeping the faith! Last year it took me until after Christmas to get in the top 50 000 and I ended up 648 in the world. So, keeping the faith! Surely a lot from FF247 will end up in the top 50 000. It’s a long season and I think we may see our fair share of surprises by then! Seing how many team look alike it good to see you could still be ranked so high up. Cappo choices this year seem crucial! You have been wise till now..

Well my front 8 are the casual ADM, Siggy, Sterling, Fabregas, Pelle, Berahino, Aguero and bench warmer Davis. Just got Aguero in. But if he receives a 3 match ban he is out and I may just take Rooney back in or Costa if fit. All depends on Aguero. Soggy if injured for a long haul will also be removed. I remember how many hits I took last year before christmas…like maybe 40 points at least..now I am only on -4…liking it better like this!
What is your master plan for this GW?

0.6m in bank. No FT after bringing in Sanchez for Sterling. I only care about points (and team value, a bit) not H2Hs.
No plans for further transfers this GW. Maybe my next move is to get a better goalie. At this level of cash I’m happy enough with the defence, won’t go for Baines unless he starts keeping CSs. Once one of the front 8 gets injured I’ll probably trade down to raise cash, which would go into defence. Terry makes my skin creep, but he is starting to look very good value in FPL terms.
Gkw. Your plan sounds sounds. Not how I play the game (prefer a big 6 and cheapie in the front 8) but I do like your thinking. Good luck to you.

Until I made the Sanchez move, I was planning to downgrade him so I could bring in Costa for Welbeck. But then I looked at Sanchez’s career stats and decided his current form is the real deal.

Howdi folks! Could someone explain me why Ivanovic got -1 yesterday after the red card? In my books he had 6 points (2 + 4 for the cleanie) then the red card came and he should have had 3 points in total since he was sent off before the goal was conceded? Am I understanding this wrong. Or does a red card cancel everything and the end result is what counts? That would be odd. A striker scoring a goal then getting red carded does not loose his goal. Maybe its Monday morning but I find it odd.

Basically yeah, the worst a striker can get is the red card itself. I think.
… which is fair enough, really. As soon as I heard the ref was reaching for his pocket I thought uh-oh. And indeed, 7pts lost (red card plus CSs). Still, nowhere near as bad as the time Fabregas (c) missed a penalty which Arshavin (also in my team) had won. That cost 17pts plus maybe some bps… Which is why the armband goes to Sanchez next GW not to Fabregas.
Haha gkw, well be wary of Wenger. He might think Sanchez needs a rest and only make a 20 minute cameo from the bench!

Morning all, struggling to come up with a useful transfer this week (although that’s not to say I don’t need one!). What would you do with £0.2m itb and 1FT?
Need Chelsea coverage but other than Costa I don’t really think any of them are worth replacing my current players.
Anyway, thoughts greatly appreciated (and desperately needed! ;)).

I would bring in Hazard for ADM.
Hazard could go crazy at home to QPR. Even if you only make the move for one week you may regret not going with Chelsea coverage next week.
Or that. Completely overlooked the lack of Chelsea in your team. One of Hazard/Fab/Costa if fit are a must
GP, Hazard for ADM? Not think he is a season keeper? Got him at £9.5m so would lose a lot if I sold him for one week.
I think Hazard is a good option though, although he hasn’t shown much yet. Hazard for Sterling?

If so then that move then definitely. In your case I would hold ADM because of the value.
GP, no, although Moreno to Hutton/Dawson then Sterling to Hazard for a 4 point hit would work.
Hi AT. See my post below. You could consider some of the same options as me. Moreno is a bit suspect and Newcastle are hitting some kind of form(ish).
SAF, Moreno could be used to raise funds..thinking Hutton or C.Dawson.
I’d keep the FT then maybe make a double move next week. My squad is much the same (tho without Aguero and Baines), but I’ve moved from Silva and Sterling to Tadic and Sanchez. If next GW you sell Welbeck (after the Burnley match) you can bring in Berahino and use the extra cash to replace Mannone or Heaton.

Morning All, hope you’re all chuffed with your weekend’s scores. Not pulling up any trees myself, 45 with McCarthy in goal for QPR tonight – so likely to be 44 after that. Transfer for this week I’m thinking of a few options. Any advice?
A. Sterling > Silva (maybe better to wait another week)
B. Sterling & Welbeck > Sanchez & Sakho/Berahino (4 pt hit)
C. Taylor > Chambers (home to Burnley. Swans have horrible fixtures)

Assuming Costa is ok for the weekend I would go with what you have and bank the FT.
GP. To be honest I had thought that but can’t resist doing something. I’m planning the transfers for the next 4-5 weeks and trying to get in before I can’t afford them
SAF, I agree with GP on this. You have a good squad, don’t risk tinkering till you have 2 FTs to play with.
