Fantasy Premier League Set Piece Takers 2014-15
Ok then so we saw quite a few requests for an updated ‘Set-Piece takers’ list on the comments recently and it jogged our memory that we hadn’t done one and as ever we took notice and decided to take action. We had a quick look around the offices of FF247 and found Eddy and Flingy slumped in the corner playing cards and a light bulb came on! So suddenly Eddy became our roving reporter and was whisked around the world to see all of the pre-season friendlies he could manage in order to bring you the latest set-piece table, while we locked Flingy in a darkened room, with Google as his only friend, to bring you the stats on last seasons set-piece specialists. Enjoy…
Please find below the FF247 Set Piece Takers List for 2014/15. This list is a guide that we hope will help you select players that have the potential to bring in goals and crucial assist points. The table is based on information gathered from last season’s games, Opta stats, pre-season friendlies and FF247 community input.
The article itself is archived under the tab at the top of the page entitled Tips/News and is linked under the drop down box ‘FPL SET-PIECE TAKERS 2014-15’ so you can refer back to it at any time, as are many of our other articles and helpful tools such as Fixture Tracker and Weekly Tips.
Please be aware that this list is subject to change due to player injuries, drop in form, suspensions, manager whims, etc. The list will be updated throughout the season and as ever we welcome anybody in our community to inform us if you are aware of any updated roles or indeed anything you think we have got wildly inaccurate! You’re not perfect and neither are we 😉
Players are listed in order of priority for each particular role –

So while Eddy was jet setting around the globe, Flingy was busy squirreling away to bring us the highlights of last season’s set-piece stats which are below for your perusal. The first deals with the players who had the ‘Most’ in each section. The second examines the teams themselves. We hope you find these both informative and helpful. There are obviously some players in there who are no longer with us (gone abroad, not died) and there are new players at some clubs who will take over some of these duties.
PLAYERS
TEAMS
Thanks for reading Fantasy Premier League Set Piece Takers 2014-15. These tips were brought to you by Eddy and Flingy.
Anyone know who will start up top for Spurs? They’ve looked quite dangerous pre-season, with Soldado chipping in with goals and assists? could be a cheap way into a 3rd striker?
Eriksen is enough for me. Don’t want a Spurs striker.
CF
Looks like Soldado will play with three in behind him.
I think Eriksen is a more reliable £8.0M spend than Soldado.
Ok, cheers.
Has anyone ever posted a team on here and got 100% positive feedback .
Yeah man, all my teams are awesome and everyone tells me so. :/
Yes. My team. Everybody was positive it wasn’t theirs. 😉
Ant,
Probably no – and that’s a good thing. You want to always to be questioned. Makes you think more
Giroud and a risky defense (2 four mil defenders). Or Pelle/Remy and 1m more to spend on defense?
Also, will Remy start? I figure he will but you never know. So anyone on that?
Raz,
Normally it would be Option 1 for me mate. Even at Girouds conversion rate, he should do well.
However, Wenger has called out that Giroud hasn’t had enough rest since the WC, so i think he could join the club with Mert, Pod and Ozil and sit out the first game or two. Then you’ve got the risk that Sanchez or Sanago does well and he takes time to get back his starting spot.
So… Maybe option 2 would be safer for the season openner.
And i think Remy will start, assuming they don’t sell him.
…
Sighs, that one should’ve been a reply to myself (one up). Cruel world.
Ben Davies and Duff
or
Two 4.5’s?
Heard some peepz say Davies might not even start every game? Don’t know about that, I think he will. But if that does happen you have yourself a doom scenario.
Ben Davies might be rested before their Champions league games but other than that he should start.
Oh wait, what am i saying?! Spuds aren’t in the champs league are they…?
He should start every game mate, so i’d go that option if you can get a playing back up for when tottenham play Utd, Liverpool etc. he’d need at least an assist in those games to offset the 5+ goals they concede. (And yes, i am aware of Arsenals record against the big teams last year.
