Fantasy Premier League Set Piece Takers 2014-15
Ok then so we saw quite a few requests for an updated ‘Set-Piece takers’ list on the comments recently and it jogged our memory that we hadn’t done one and as ever we took notice and decided to take action. We had a quick look around the offices of FF247 and found Eddy and Flingy slumped in the corner playing cards and a light bulb came on! So suddenly Eddy became our roving reporter and was whisked around the world to see all of the pre-season friendlies he could manage in order to bring you the latest set-piece table, while we locked Flingy in a darkened room, with Google as his only friend, to bring you the stats on last seasons set-piece specialists. Enjoy…
Please find below the FF247 Set Piece Takers List for 2014/15. This list is a guide that we hope will help you select players that have the potential to bring in goals and crucial assist points. The table is based on information gathered from last season’s games, Opta stats, pre-season friendlies and FF247 community input.
The article itself is archived under the tab at the top of the page entitled Tips/News and is linked under the drop down box ‘FPL SET-PIECE TAKERS 2014-15’ so you can refer back to it at any time, as are many of our other articles and helpful tools such as Fixture Tracker and Weekly Tips.
Please be aware that this list is subject to change due to player injuries, drop in form, suspensions, manager whims, etc. The list will be updated throughout the season and as ever we welcome anybody in our community to inform us if you are aware of any updated roles or indeed anything you think we have got wildly inaccurate! You’re not perfect and neither are we 😉
Players are listed in order of priority for each particular role –

So while Eddy was jet setting around the globe, Flingy was busy squirreling away to bring us the highlights of last season’s set-piece stats which are below for your perusal. The first deals with the players who had the ‘Most’ in each section. The second examines the teams themselves. We hope you find these both informative and helpful. There are obviously some players in there who are no longer with us (gone abroad, not died) and there are new players at some clubs who will take over some of these duties.

Thanks for reading Fantasy Premier League Set Piece Takers 2014-15. These tips were brought to you by Eddy and Flingy.
Oooh, I see van Gaal & CO finished off Pool yesterday.
Yeah, there was a funny moment where Rooney scored after the ball bounced off the crossbar (and out of play), but It was disallowed.
Sadly, couldn’t watch the game. But I bet both teams went for it.
yeah, very competitive for a pre-season game. Lots of big tackles in there.
Shaw used as leftback and Ashley Young as rightback after ummmmm Valencia came off injured? Might actually be a good thing for the people wanting to take a punt on Shaw.
Any thoughts on this lot guys?
Green
Cameron O Shea Ferdinand
Ya Ya Gerrard Barkley Mata
Lukaku Lambert Rooney (c)
Pantillimon Ince Vlaar Taylor
Mr D – Green and Rio…are you a confident Rangers fan?
Perhaps Coloccini and Figueroa in for Ferds and O Shea?
Hey Cookie….No, i’m an excited Canary! Bit of a gamble having double QPR. Any thoughts?
Yeah – I think you’re mad!!!
Hi all,
Having my first (of many) attempts at picking my squad,
If anyone is kind enough to rate it…
As much as I hate to say it, Bojan is on my mind.
Your team looks solid.
Hi Bongo, I may be wrong but I can’t see De Jong getting much vs City. Get why Siggy is on the bench GW1 so maybe leave that but find someone else for De Jong who has a decent opening fixture?
Mehehe. After doing some research I’m starting to question if de Jong will be a good choice this season. Think Tadic might do way better. Anyway, unsure. On that note, De Jong played two games against City and scored 3 times already. 😉
Where’s the monkey gone?!
My monkeys weren’t appreciated. So the finger is back. :finger:
I like the monkey! Kind of a zoo feeling to the place.
Cash sometimes acted like a monkey. 😉
Thanks Raziel, no love for Bojan then I think at the price there are far bigger risks tbh, I’m aware of his failings but this is stoke and without the pressure that has been on him in the past he may well turn out to be fpl gold.
Innit, thanks for your input, one of the reasons I put De Jong in was (City apart) Newcastle’s early fixtures look great, I suppose I could find a replacement for GW 1 then look to bring him back in if he looks good against City.
Any thoughts on a replacement around the 7m mark ?
Thanks again.
Hi Gents,
I’ve got 2 key questions I need your opinion on…
1. Do you think Shaw will start as first choice wing back?
2. How do favour just now to stat out of Dzeko and Jovetic? (2b – is augureo fit?)
Cheers!
Hi Honey,
1. I say yes on Shaw come the season but many will disagree.
2. Jovetic
3. Is he ever?
Can you get a grav of a honey badger? The zoo’s just lost a monkey.
A horny badger? WTF is wrong with you innit?
If Valencia is injured Shaw’s chances might rise.
Good the Monkey is back
A horny honey badger?
Cheers for the reply lads. How did u get that pic of me and the misses!
I had fancied shaw for a start after the big price tag but looks to a be a lot of non believers!
Hi Honey,
Feels wrong to be calling someone Honey that isn’t my wife. We’ve got a ‘sweetie’ on here too. Ridiculous.
Anyway, Badger, i think Shaw will see some rotation at least at the start of the year until he can prove himself to LVG. Not sure how bad the Valencia injury is, but if its bad then obviously that’ll help as Young would prob get moved to the Right like he did last night v Liverpool.
On pre season form i’d say Jovetic, but Dzeko seems to be the mgrs favourite. Sorry, tough call.
2b. I don’t think so.
Cheers for the advice chins! If the name makes you feel awkward you can call me Honey B?
Yeah I’m thinking of swapping in Luis for Shaw.
Think the Dzeko/Jovetic one is going to run till the opener. Jovey does look likes he’s on top form tho!
