Wow. What a match! Delighted to see Holland go for it, but Spain were terrible.

On the fantasy side, pleased with Cillessen and Blind, less so with Iniesta. Plenty of nice options on my bench though…

      Hey Raz…

      Great game from your boys…
      A classic….
One of those games you’ll see go down in history… Fully deserved…!

Yo Popz. Still would’ve preferred to win the final though. 😉

Anyway, this game you see the difference between a fit Robben and a semi-injured one (last worldcup). If Robben was fit in the final we would’ve won. RvP was also completely out of form last worldcup. Now it’s just Sneijder that missed a few big chances. Shit, we could’ve won 8-1 in the end (to put it in perspective, Spain could’ve been up 2-0).

Glad we won but still don’t expect too much from our team. Too inexperienced and young.

        • Raz, I’m actually thinking this whole thing about the Dutch team not being good enough can work to your benefit. Since you’re “not good enough” the team adopts a more defensive, counter-attacking strategy that weaker teams usually adopts against stronger teams, and that can actually be quite effective. When you then take into consideration that RvP and Robben play up top, two players who don’t need more than one good chance to score a goal, the Dutch actually becomes a gigantic threat on the counter-attackt, and since no one is expecting anything, they don’t play with any pressure either. Nothing to lose, everything to win. The context is set up perfectly for the Dutch to surprise in this WC.

Nice to see you back on the site by the way.

Yo Tekno. Sort of stupid I forgot to setup a team. I think they waited too long till they opened that site. I registered myself weeks ago, but I couldn’t setup a team. Again, I understand why, they don’t know the teams till shortly before the WC.

I think we might reach the next round, if we don’t face Brazil anything is possible. If we meet Germany, France, Portugal, Brazil, Argentina (or someone else I forgot), I think we’re out. On that note, didn’t expect us to trash Spain 5-1. Last few tournaments Spain haven’t conceded more than 4 goals. This game, if Iker didn’t concede before the 86th minute, he’d be setting a record for keeping the 0 the longest at a WC. So we haven’t done bad, scoring 5 (which should’ve been 8 imho).
