Fantasy World Cup Live Match Chat Day 6
Ok, so today could be interesting! Group stage 1 ends and Group stage 2 begins. If only it were that simple… Just so we are all perfectly clear here there are three games today. The first and the last ones are in stage 1, the Brazil game in the middle is actually the start of stage 2. Now how McDonald’s choose to handle this quirk could be anybody’s guess and judging by the way they have handled the whole fiasco so far we are not holding our breath on this being a smooth transition! Please keep us updated throughout the day if anyone notices anything to indicate that Group stage 2 is open on their site.
As for the games themselves we begin at 5pm with Belgium vs Algeria. This could be a game with plenty of fantasy interest, some intentional and perhaps some not! Hazard, De Bruyne, Lukaku and the Belgian defence all proved popular choices prior to the tournament so it will be interesting to see if they can deliver on that promise. The Algerians inadvertently attracted equal attention due to their plethora of £1m squad fillers. Judging by the amount of botched formation changes though, a lot of people could be cheering on the Algerians!
It’s then back to the hosts Brazil as they and Mexico face off for their second games of the tournament at 8pm. Last time out Neymar and Oscar delighted while Fred frustrated but can the golden boys shine again against a Mexico side who also began the tournament with a decent victory over Cameroon.
We round the evening off and indeed stage 1 at 11pm as Russia and South Korea take their tournament bows. It’s difficult to think of two countries who have courted as much political controversy as of late so whether this encounter will provide some light relief for their fans we shall see but one things for certain, whatever the outcome, the Koreans will be informed with glee of their glorious 5 – 0 victory.

I had problems with mine. Ended up using auto complete for now and will hope it sorts itself out later so i can change the order. I’ve also not been able to select a round 2 captain.
Maybe its an ipad thing.

Settling in well thanks mate. Loads to do still re personal admin and furniture buying but we’re getting there. Loving being off work for the world cup and the weathers been not too hot (90ish) for my pastey scottish genes. Got a mate down this weekend so going for an alldayer in downtown fort worth. Should be fun!

Hi guys i understand that explanation however when I hit the x in the circle it gives me all the players available to the left hand side of the circle with green arrows but also a red x so not allowing transfer to pitch to happen the players on sub bench to the right have green arrows also
Was wondering the auto complete your line up is bright shall hit that ( I’m to old for all this tech stuff )

That little red x is for removing that box of players that pops up when you’ve pressed the + icon…
However I’ve just tried it on my round 2 team & it’s the same with mine…doesn’t select any of the available subs….so don’t worry its nothing your doing wrong….I pressed the autocomplete button & I’ve now got a new player…

Autosubs replaced with a Russian one…
Can’t get my Greek guy back in…at the mo..
But I’m sure I’ll be able to …..at some point….

Gonna put this out there, I am enjoying the Mcdonalds Fantasy Game. Coming on here everyday and viewing all the comments it seems I may be the only one. But hey I don’t mind. I understand that there are a few problems here and there, but I am having fun with it.

Qual, same here mate. We’re all in the same boat and it means i have a ready made excuse when i crash out in the group phases!
And as i said earlier, i think we’ve been spoilt by FPL.
It could only get better if i didn’t have a job to go to and if i was on a time zone that meant i could watch all the games without staying up late.
