Fantasy World Cup Live Match Chat Day 7
And on the seventh day He rested. Well the Lord may have done, but we still have work to do and the World Cup waits for no-one. So we bat on and what a day it could be – for Spain, the reigning World Champions, will likely see their Brazilian adventure cut short today if they lose to Chile at the Maracana – how likely in all reality is that I wonder? Well, we shall see tonight at 8pm UK time. Of course, they will likely just do enough, sneak through the group and progress in the tournament, but they will have to improve on their inept display last week vs the Dutch.
Talking of the Dutchies, they kick off our day when they take on the Aussies at 5pm. They’ll be sighs, shrugs and cries of “ZOMG” if they fail to win this one and with RvP & Robben looking in such scintillating form on Friday, there won’t be many bar the odd convict betting against them.
Our day is completed at my bed time as Cameroon and Croatia meet in Manaus – you know the place, it’s where England lost to Italy and is described as being in the jungle – jeez, I’ve seen bigger looking jungles in Basic Instinct. You know the scene…. STOP THIS. NOW. (editors cut).
Well good luck, hope your players perform, careful on those formations now.
My emails
22 of them have done the trick.
Yes your own personal League’s have been bloody updated.
WoooHoooo

Dios mio! España es no buena, no no no…
Adios Espana !
#dethroned
Been found out!
This is fantastic!!!!!
People are saying the death of tiki taka but I think the problems are in the squad Spain has picked!
Look at the average age of their players – it’s like 28 or something (actually 28.2). Thir golden age is over. They have the 8th oldest team in the World Cup.
What they’re missing is pace and some of the young players that have ‘no fear’ as they say. There’s been a ton of pressure put on them by the Spanish media, and maybe they crumbled under that. A lot was expected.
They should have brought navas the worlds fastest player! And isco, somone showing huge potencial especally at a club as big as Real Madrid!!! He’s pretty fast too…
Have to feel bad for casillas though… He was at fault for some of the goals, but he’s going to be blamed for the whole fall down… Morinho and ancelotti have taken the confidence for one of the world’s best goalkeepers… He has barely played this season.
Good luck to Spain for the rebuild… It’ll be a one long road back.
Look at England – won the World Cup and still nothing for nearly 50 years…
Negredo rather than Torres?
Well, costa is blatantly not fit enough, so I’d start with either Torres or negredo.
Negredo I think fits this team better but Torres, despite being rubbish for Chelsea, still always plays well for Spain in my opinion…
Happy belated birthday for yesterday Bob! :bouncy-balls:
Haha thanks innit!!
I got this really cool thing call a pebble for my birthday!
No it’s not what you think! it’s a smart-watch which connects to your phone so you can basically read the time in letters and check the texts on your phone. Problem is I don’t have a phone!
Also got a replica of the New England shirt so that was cool.
Anyway, how’s things innit? All smooth sailing with these World Cup teams and all?
I think everyone knows the seas are rough my end…
Still no phone, eh? Have a word mate! If you get no joy maybe send the pebble to Alsed and see if it can help sort his team out for him!
Not doing too bad so far just learning the ropes as per everyone else I think! Apart from Mito who’s just gone off on one on his own!
Yeah – the problem is the contracts. Here, they’re like $50+ a month (if you’re lucky) which is ridiculously expensive, and if you want to get pay-as-you-go they make you pay $600+ for a phone which costs $30 to make!!
The pebble still can telltale he time and you can download watch faves and stuff from the web, it just won’t be able to keep me updated with the latest scores and things like that…
Seems like asled is haveing some trouble…
I was really confused at first thouhgh, and ended up googling asled, which came up as an acronym for Anthropology and Language Science in Educational Development!!! I was thinking about how a watch would help a teacher’s team when it struck me that asled littetally posed a comment on this page!!
There certainly are some weird rules in the McDonald’s fantasy football!
Oh and I like the new logo btw!
Iniesta got 7pts (14 as capt) time to move the armband on?
Photek
I would twist for sure
Potty
Photek…
Got the same dilema….
I’d move it on..
Who you got playing next..?
I got Gerrard up next… i think…twist!
Yo fellas….
So adios espana….they where shocking..
Costa awful
Alonso poor
Ramos stunk
Casilas crap
Torres ……. No words
So to England vs Goofy & Chums…
Let’s get some predictions going…..am going for a stressful, panicky 1-0 to the 3 lions…
What say you…?
I reckon you’ll be spot on with stressful and panicky England
If we manage to play like we did against Italy we’ll pound them, get either Cahill or Jagielka to give Suarez a good whack early on as well.
3 – 0 England
As for the WC as a whole it’s been by far the best opening to a tournament I can remember, it’s shaping up to be a cracking summer of football.
Popz it depends how England plays them. Uruguay is uncomfortable taking the game to people. They prefer to sit back and counter. In South America they tied 3 of the 4 weakest teams at home in the qualifiers because those teams sat deep on them. So in those they were forced to possess the ball ( which they don’t do well ) and look for avenues to score goals. If England sends numbers and sends waves at them of players going forward than it could be a trap. They beat the top 3 South American sides by a combined 9-2 ( Chile, Colombia and Argentina) at home, because those 3 didn’t fear their counter and attacked them. So Uruguay was able to play on the counter which is what they want. There might not be an uglier site in South America than watching Uruguay go down in a game, if they are forced to go forward to look for an equalizer they will get pummeled , because their defence is slow and shite. I honestly think whoever scores first wins.
I think this is the best England side for like 9 years or something so I’ll expect us to win.
It’s never straightforward with England though…
As mito said, a cavani and Suarez against 1 or 2 defenders is not a scenario you want!!!
I’m stuck in school for that which is really, really annoying. At least if we were in lessons our teachers might let us watch it (we’ve seen a few of the games so far), but we’re not! We’re stuck in a stupid prise giving assembly which goes on all afternoon!!
#stupidSchool #stupidTimeDiffrence #neverMindAboutTheTimeDiffrenceBecauseOtherwiseItWouldBeLikeTwelveOClockAtNightAnyway
You are still in school? I thought all schools had released for the summer.
Not mine
Mine finishes in 7 days time.
Could be worse – in the uk they finish in 3 weeks or something!
Really, really depends on Suarez for me. I watched them without him and they were average at best but IF he’s fit I can’t think of a worse pair than Cahill and Jags to try and deal with a tricky, pacy, world class striker. He has destroyed them individually in the PL in the past. If he’s at it I think draw at best, if he’s not then we could sneak it.
I’ve seen Uruguay with him at 100%, still look like :poop:
I’ve seen Jags and Cahill run flat out at 100% pace and still move backwards.
Hey they have applied the 5 conceded goals vs Holland to Ramos , presume the others have got the minuses as well, knocks my first round score down to 95
Alec
THEY’RE ONLY UPDATEING THIS NOW?!?!?!
This is ridiculous.
Honestly I feel like giving up with stupid of Mac d’s…
