Fantasy Football The FF247 Community Team – We go again
It was around this time twelve months ago that another team joined the 3 million-strong throng of Fantasy Football Teams vying for the crown of overall world champion. Except in this case it would be “champions” as this team was a little different. You were in it. And you. You, too. I was as well. The FF247 Community Team (founded 2015) was born, and indeed borne out of a curiosity of a few regulars who wondered if we could have a fantasy team representing all you good good people. Let’s embrace what we did last year, with an overall respectable final rank of 100,193 and see if we can improve on that the second time around.
For those new to this concept, your management team of myself, elleffcee and NZ Alex will guide you via comments on our dedicated article which sits on the tab at the top of the FF247 homepage. These comments will advise you when we are looking for your interaction, namely to let us know how you think we should manage the Community Team. Once our original squad has been selected (more of that soon), we need you to advise us how many transfers we should make, who should be transferred out, in and how we should line up for the forthcoming gameweek and also who will wear our captain’s armband for double points.
All our voting is based on a first past the post system – most votes wins. Simple.
The initial squad selection last season was a little laborious so we have decided to streamline this for this season. We will soon open voting where we will ask you to vote for your desired players by each position (hopefully getting a nice mixture of top-end and budget players . . . . or not?) and then the management team will construct the squad based upon your most popular two or three players per position and then by budget as we work our way through the positions.
The management team have our own individual teams so we are not one bit interested in manipulating the Community Team to turn it in to some second team of ours. You will get what you vote for.
We received some positive feedback on this venture last year so we feel we owe it to you all to have another go and we just hope you support us once more.
To the 2016/17 season then. Shall we?

I think your squad is very decent actually. You want to hold on to Costa I take it? I probably would if I were you.
Depending on how many transfers you have and much cash you could bring in Ibrahimovic for Defoe or Benteke and maybe downgrade Hazard to Lallana to make it happen? Not necessarily this week.

@ Craig – Cheers Bud – had 2 freebies for this week, but used one for Holebas to Ake. Thought about downgrading Haz and upgrading Defoe/Benteke, but resisting changes for now. Defoe has a apparently scored a few on boxing day and Benteke has a good run coming up and with Big Sam in, I feel he could bring a new level of motivation to Palace. I’d have liked Ibra but missed the boat (0.3 up) and also working a strategy for Kun.
@Nishant Thanks again – I see a lot of people have dropped him and he is due to drop again – but he is a machine and will score.

Unsurprisingly our new mega-signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic hsd been overwhelmingly voted as captain.
Other new boy, Christian Benteke takes his place in our front three.

Our team managed 56 points this past week which was seven above average but at least above average for the first in a while!
We reside at 1,161,310 on the overall rankings which still isn’t good enough. We’ll have to do much better this year!

Sorry dude. Team is looking pretty awful. Main problem is that you probably dn’t take hits. I have taken a hit to ship out Wally yet he’s still in your team. Now I would keep him since he is sure to come back in 10 days. But damn. That freak Stones though… hurtful to watch.
I have the same problems with Smith and Amat. I will need to get rid of Smith first but he will probably start the next game since Francis is banned for a game. Stones though, ouch. Dude has cost so many so many points, fact he still is in teams, is funny. 😉
Ummm. Lets see. Bentekers to Defoe or Giroud? Allen to Stanislas? Siggy to ummm Lallana?

Raz, the choice is given each week re taking hits so those that are voting are clearly voting not to.
The comminity team gets what its community votes for!
I know, I voted most weeks but I can’t say I have voted over the Christmas period, not that I remember anyway. And those days are key.
It’s difficult to sustain votes over the Christmas period due to one gameweek running in to the next. We had football every day almost.
Appreciate when you do vote mate.
Also, I think the majority won’t go for hits unless you really have to. In my case I had Pickford and Wally and I felt I had to get rid of both. When you ask the people, they probably go for a safer option. Thus you are keeping Wally and also the teamvalue will go down like crazy.
I think Wally will be on 7.3m before the new GW starts, which makes him really interesting for me by the way, more so than Alli. 😉
So I understand it must be really hard to keep this team.
I think you’re right Raz actually. Very rarely do we have extra transfers voted for.
