FF247 End of Season Awards – Fantasy Premier League 2014/15
Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the FF247 End of Season Awards. I’m sure you will all agree that it has been a fantastic season on the site, full of banter, help, comradeship and above all fun. Behind the scenes the FF247 management team has, on many occasions, stepped away from the boards to talk off-line and been very proud of the community as we have watched you talk amongst yourselves, helping each other and enjoying the friendly community that has been evident all season long. And so, without further ado, let’s get cracking with the awards, where we get the chance to thank and reward those folk that have made this season enjoyable and relevant for you all on FF247.
Creative Writing Award
I’m sure you will all agree that writing about the same names each week can not only be boring, but also very tough – there are only so many words you can use to describe the creative genius of Eden Hazard, the finishing prowess of Sergio Aguero, the “will he or won’t he play” scenario of Diego Costa, the aggression of Joey Barton and the errrrm defensive qualities and wingback skills of Andrew Robertson. But, week in week out these boys have written you an article in an effort to help you work out who is the best candidate for the armband for your FPL side. Not only has the article been helpful and informative, but also humorous, witty and a fantastically entertaining read.
The winner of the Creative Writing Award is The Captain Article Team of chins and bellies, Bryan Munich, Calvin Clyne, The Gallant Pioneer and lawdogg.

Is Anybody Out There? Award
For many months now we have had a great team of writers who have written an article for FantasyFootballFix. The subject of these articles has been up to the writer to the decide, which, trust me, is harder than being given a subject to write about. Yet these lads have never let us or indeed themselves down – constantly producing original material, which has been of superb quality. Sadly their audience has been somewhat limited to say the least, with only a handful of comments as feedback and acknowledgement. But we would like to recognise them now.
The winner of the Is Anybody Out There Award is the FFFix writers team of Tekno-Kun, GKW, blue_moon and jamesimmo.

The Nigel Farage Memorial Award
There can only really be one winner of this award. This gentleman works tirelessly behind the scenes organising the hugely popular Banterbury H2H Leagues. This takes a heck of a load of administration and organisation, which would perfectly explain the occasional lapse into beer fuelled rants at anyone in his vicinity! The leagues have grown from strength to strength and are many people’s main priority for their FPL season.
The winner of the Nigel Farage Memorial Award is, of course, Bench.

This Is Your Life Award
This award goes to someone who has filled many a dreary day in a blank gameweek. You know those days when there are irrelevant internationals being played, our players risking injury while playing meaningless friendlies against the Faroe Islands or Andorra. The chat is quiet, transfers must be delayed, so FPL is not important for a few days – step up our man who canvassed much of the FF247 community to tell us a little more about themselves in their Player Profiles and made those blank FPL days much more enjoyable. And there are more in the bank yet to be published! Our winner wasn’t asked to do this, it was his idea and it was a brilliant addition to the site.
The winner of the This Is Your Life Award is Peaky Dave.

Let’s Go Nicking Award
The Manager of the Month article is an unwanted task – it doesn’t help anyone with their FPL team and concentrates on acknowledging only a small number of managers who are challenging at the top of the leagues. However, our author constructs the leagues and diligently writes the text each month and is a long serving and loyal servant to FF247. We’d just like our stuff back though in all honesty.
The winner of the Let’s Go Nicking Award is our very own Liverpudlian, Elleffcee.

Anything Goes Award
This award is presented to an FF247 member who is very much one of our own – he lives for bringing a smile onto people’s faces and enjoyment into their lives. If there is a fantasy competition going, then he will set up a competition that people can join and have fun with. Aside from that, every week he creates a competition for you to play, rewarding winners with prizes paid for out of his own pocket. His contribution to the site is massive – especially when you consider the tough time he has had from a personal point of view, of which you are all aware.
The winner of the Anything Goes Award is of course, Potty.

Regular As Clockwork Award
After the FPL deadline bell has rung, it’s clearly too late to fret any more about transfers and your choice of skipper for the gameweek. However, of paramount concern first and foremost is “Will my starting XI actually play?”. Our next award winner is the man to bring us the good or indeed the bad news. Within seconds of the official teamsheets being revealed they appear on our boards and the waiting is over. We also want to emphasise that we have never asked our winner to do this, he initiated the role off his own back and boy are we grateful that he does – and we know you all are as well.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the winner of the Regular As Clockwork Award is TJ.

Best Newcomer Award
This award goes to someone who joined our team late on in the season, but who has settled in magnificently and has already written a couple of quality articles for you. She has been writing for years, but sadly her audience has been somewhat limited as of late since her host site packed it’s bags which is why we were delighted when she agreed to join the team and she herself has been thrilled at the welcome she has received from those at FF247 who have commented and complimented her on the articles. We are looking forward to working for a full campaign together next season. We are of course talking about the new Trends From The Top article.
The winner of the Best Newcomer Award is Bekachan. Thanks Rebekah!

Under The Spotlight Award
This award goes to the folk who have been brave enough to participate in interviews over the course of the season. The feedback to these interviews is always great as we get into the minds of selected managers who are having great seasons. Sadly the interview has proven somewhat of a jinx at times, yet we really appreciate those managers who have agreed to take part and give us an insight into their thinking and decision making, which only goes to help us struggling managers perform better.
The winners of the Under The Spotlight Award are NZ Alex, scoringaintboring and Albertini. Due to the “jinx” we have delayed talking to Albertini until after the season, but we are delighted to announce that his interview will be published this week, as we look back at what has been a magnificent season for him.

Lazarus Award
This award is given to someone who frankly disappeared last season. Things weren’t going well FPL wise, the toys went out of the pram and he went AWOL. However, as we are regularly told, it’s not failing by what one is judged by, but it’s how you recover and this member has been a regular contributor on the boards since his return to FPL, endlessly helping other members, offering insightful and expert opinion tirelessly. We are also delighted to announce that he will join the Captain’s Article team for next season (he’s just after another award!).
The winner of the Lazarus Award is NIN.

Log Off / Log On Award
This award goes to the man in the background. Without him we would not have a site as he built it, maintains and updates it and does the unseen work that is essential for a website to operate and function smoothly and without problems. Otherwise known as “CDLS”, “Squirrel”, “Init’s Bitch”, he takes a lot of stick behind the scenes with an endless list of requests/demands that “need to be done NOW” and we thank him for his time, dedication and commitment to the site. Not often seen on the site, but be sure he is always lurking, the only thing that will see him appear is the lure of cash or if we are bad mouthing him on a private chat!
The winner of the Log Off / Log On award is Floydeth.

Lord Lucan Award
Our winner of the Lord Lucan Award goes to someone who was an original part of the team who started to write for FF247. This season has seen his contributions limited by his efforts on winning the Northern Ireland business man of the year award, which has seen him rarely on site, but true friends we don’t forget. We consider him an old wise Uncle who’s always watching and being proud from afar and is always happy to step in and help if we go astray a bit. He also popped up in December to write the article for the African Cup of Nations and Asia Cup, for which we were very grateful.
The winner of the Lord Lucan Award is Uncle eddy.

Voices In My Head Award
This award goes to a very treasured and loved member of FF247. He is always seen on the boards, whether it be chatting to other managers, asking for advice and not getting it, offering help, posting monkey pictures or just chatting away to himself! There have been many quiet days on the site which have only been energised by this manager’s contribution and for that and all his contributions to the site we are extremely grateful.
The winner of the Voices In My Head Award is Raziel.

Team of the Year Award
This was a very difficult decision. There were some great and deserving candidates, namely the Captain Article team and the Fix writers. But our winner is a team of two and they are the guys who have not only contributed massively on site but also on social media. Twitter is a magnificent way of advertising the site and also giving FF247 a presence in a huge community. Our twitter following has grown in just over 18 months to an incredible 11,700 followers. All these followers have been earned, none purchased as some sites do, and that is down to the hard and relentless hours spent on twitter by our team.
The winner of the Team of The Year are our tweeters, inittowinit and mito21.
It would be wrong of me, while Init and Mito are here, not to also thank them for their site contributions. Mito writes up the FF247 Team article and Live Match Chat, while Init of course writes the weekly Fixtures article and unbeknown to most of you works relentlessly behind the scenes on keeping the framework of the site together, undertaking many of the mundane everyday tasks and ensuring that the FF247 team is doing all that is required.

Like any great awards ceremony we have gone over our time, but we are almost through.
Kop Warrior: Cookie, pass me the mic please. Ladies and Gentlemen, one award Cookie doesn’t know about is the Meet The Press Award.
Every Friday, in preparation for Team Talk, one person trawls through all the injury news and manager’s press conferences, creating the article that is a must read on the night before the deadline. Transfers are affected by this article and it is a huge and invaluable part of our decision making progress.
He then turns this info into a work of art. For all his hard work preparing what is a fun and informative Team Talk, the winner of the Meet The Press Award is Cookie.
Cookie: Kop, stay there Sir. We have one award left –

Glass Half Empty Award
You love the winner of this award. But he is soooo pessimistic, whether it comes to his beloved Liverpool or his own FPL performance, the glass is always half empty. He is the writer of your weekly Tips article, every week producing an original article suggesting those players you should be considering for your teams. I filled in for him one week and trust me, this is an incredibly tough article to write, trying to find different players who have a chance of performing as well as including the tried and trust names that we all know about. Another highly valued member behind the scenes.
The winner of the Glass Half Empty Award is…and please fill your glasses up to toast him…. Kop Warrior!
[clear][divider_1px]
Finally and most importantly, our most prestigious award is the Community Award.
The winner of the Community Award is…… you guys who are reading this. Without you the site is nothing. Articles can be prepared, written, edited and published but without an active community there would be no FF247. You have grown into a friendly, fun community of people, all of whom we can call “online friends”. Or as my wife describes it, “a fantasy life”!! (She hates football). We have a community that is receptive, helpful and comfortable with each other, all wining each other to do well, to score high and to have fun together.
And therefore, on a closing note, we would like to thank you, our community, for all the contributions you have made this season, whether you have written an article, contributed on the boards or simply viewed proceedings from afar. We hope you have enjoyed the season as much as we have, we look forward to the 2015/16 campaign and hope that you all have an enjoyable, FPL-free summer!

Thank you all for your work with all the great articles, found this site a couple of gas in this season . Was ranked around 500k then and ended up at 66k … Thanks . see you all next season
Thanks to everyone to contributed to the great articles all season long and everyone else who was around on the boards, cracking site this
CC
Hope to see more of you around here pal.
So when does the under 21s fantasy football start? ha
Milburn
Have you emailed Potty yet?
Nope, don’t know if I’m brave enough to play with the pros yet ha.
Was just wondering which site you’ll all be using so I can set up a mini league.
I think we’re using the UEFA site for it mate, (The same one for the CL game), it hasn’t booted up yet but Potty will let us know when it does, the first tournament game isn’t till the 17th of June so you’ve plenty of time to email him and get involved, looks like it could be fun.
Morning all, see the net is hopefully starting to close in on FIFA!!
Good Morning Cookie!
Now isn’t this the most unsurprising bunch of arrests to take place forsome time! Not before time either! Corruption at its most public, obvious level!
Morning Basher – certainly not before time, looks like the top man has escaped again – probably too smart too keep his bribe money out of a US bank, it seems. As you say, corruption for all to see – that they’ve got away with it for so long shows how far they have gone to hide eveything.
Alright Cookie?
Good old Yanks taking them head-on. Shame it’s taken so long.
You gave that watch back right? 😉
yeah GP, i sent it over to Ayr as you requested, remember yous sent that coded text message? Hold on, that was private wasn’t it? Oooops
ABORT ABORT
and the cash has been sent to that Cayman Islands account fyi 😉
Well I hope we won’t see any FF247 season awards bribe related arrests in the coming years!!
Seriously gents, I feel like an award winner; the community has been awarded the finest FPL writers out there and I am still dazzled with all the massive and very helpful articles we get to read around here. On a daily basis! I am a late adopter of FF247 and can’t cope without it anymore! Thank you everyone and look forward for next season!
Don’t be ridiculous DMC. With a tax dodger and a Colombian on the staff, what could possibly go wrong?
You loving the new car Mito?
It rides well and it has the secret compartments I asked for so I can transport ehhhh….stuff. So yeah, very happy with the car.
Not sure this even constitutes pre-season but for anyone interested . . . . .
Tottenham team to play Malaysia XI
Lloris (c), Yedlin, Dier, Vertonghen, Rose; Carroll, Stambouli, Townsend, Eriksen, Winks, Kane
GP, and Poch was moaning about burn out for Kane?!
Yeah very surprised with Kane and Dier being out there with them being in the under 21 squad, impressed that you’re already on the ball GP, no rest for the wicked
Quite sure the ‘deal’ with Malaysia would have included Kane playing as a stipulation.
you mean like a “FIFA deal” ?
Couldn’t possibly comment . . .
I wouldn’t watch Kane play if he was in my backyard.
but you wrote such nice things about him this season…..
What are the chances he’ll be found kicking a ball around in the back arse of Medellin anyway!? 😉
Hey Cookster, did you win that cup final mate?
Hey NIN, nah I got beat – we both had shocking weeks, but his was slightly less so! Kane won it for him, funnily enough!
Arse, better luck next time Cookie. Bloody Kane eh? He’s in the bad books for that one!
One of those things NIN, not to worry
