Oh b*llocks, is it?!
Welcome to FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GWX. No, this isn’t an April Fools Day joke, we are actually publishing a Site Team article! Why? Well, because we meant to do one two weeks ago, and then again last week also, but we didn’t, for reasons which we shall expand on later. Perhaps also it is because we are a bit bored, and simply not used to having a break. But also it is to remind you of a few key FPL related things, which may have slipped your mind, understandably.
We shall however begin with an update of our GW29 performance, at least for some semblence of normality, if nothing else. Looking back at it, into what seems like a lifetime ago now, we evidently got a bit shafted with the DGW postponment having brought in Saka and Aubameyang (as captain) specifically for it, and having held onto KDB too. We’ll spare you the horror story of the rest but other than Salah getting a goal we didn’t have a single other player score above 3 points. And we had some good players, with decent fixtures. When your luck is out and all that… It looks like it meant quite a fall in the rankings too, in fact we managed to double our rank from about 82k to 164,492nd.
Onto the two article titles then..
GWX
No, this wasn’t a typo. It’s more because we have no idea when the season will restart, of course, but also less of an idea how. The fact that FPL Towers decided that we could keep making transfers throughout this ‘hiatus’ seemed to be because they presumed it would restart at a later GW. Which now looks less than likely. What is perhaps now more probable is that (if anything) there will be some sort of crammed in mini-tournament style period of about 6 weeks where they will attempt to finish the season. Re-starting at the GW30 cut-off seems the most likely scenario. How FPL deals with that is another matter, given their above stance. Will they simply reset us and ask us to forget all the interim transfers? Anything is possible. But for now we have been asked to crack on regardless, and so we have…
‘Oh, bollocks’, etc
This is a reference to our lack of a recent article. The reality is that we did intend to do one prior to GW31 and we did indeed have a meeting to discuss our phantomtransfers. Only for someone to point out in the midst of said meeting that the deadline had already passed as it was a Friday night one, and not as we all assumed a normal Saturday one! So that was one transfer down the drain. Not that we feel this will matter particularly, as it looks like we will have more than we can possibly use before proceedings get back under way.
And so we sat down in the middle of last week for another meeting… only to discover half way through that one that it was indeed an International Break, as such, and that there was no planned deadline for another week! Pay more attention, we must. Reinstante the Countdown Timer, we have…
Our GW32 Transfer(s)
Crack on regardles, we do. And we have formulated something of a mini-plan. So we thought we would share this with you, for a lack of anything else to actually say at this moment in time!
Bruno Fernandes seems to be our main missing jigsaw piece right now and so we have decided to prioritise him, along with a whole other raft of minor surgeries which we hope shall put our squad in better shape, should this be required as and when To accommodate Bruno this week we have decided to do away with our double Liverpool defence, an idea that was beginning to be in vogue around about GW29…
Beyond this we are looking at something like Saka to Mount and possibly Ings to DCL, but we shall see.

I might have been willing to pass on him, but not with him playing up top. Sabitzer was usually the guy I take, but he has dropped into a deeper role, so Havertz seemed the best bet with Reus also being out.

Yes Dan. I suppose you have Friedl as well or another Bremen player. After all, you can’t expect more from a 3.7 or other cheap defender, unless that is Lundstram :yes:
There’s only one lord, and Wilder brought a replacement for him in the winter transfer.. Yeah I forgot I could change not just players but also formation oops! Plus I didn’t change the defensive star to Kimmich, god knows only why.

Usually fantasy Bundesliga are good about confirming points quickly, so the final standings should be right.
That being said, Mosc, you are the winner of the $25. Congrats, I will need a PayPal to send it to, be it yours or someone you trust, please make sure you type it out exact, so we don’t have any trouble getting it to you.
Seeing that FPL will not start for a bit. I am going to run another prize. Not a weekly one, because I would go broke, but for the highest score from GW27-29. So a new beginning of sorts for those of you who fell behind a bit. Remember, this GW26 will not count, for the next prize, just 27-29.

Great work on the prizes. I’m sure FF247 can stump up some of these for you if you ask nicely! A 3 weeker is a good idea.
Mito, thanks for offering the cash prize, but the bragging rights will suffice for me. If you want you can add it to the next round, which looks like it will be high score over 3 weeks. I’m 81yo and play these football games for the enjoyment of it.

Thank you for your response. Don’t have a paypal account & haven’t the time or interest in setting one up. On the FFF site that I was on before it shut down I was paid for the articles on score prediction, but I also turned down that and [ut the cash into the site upkeep (not that it was enough to make a difference). Play fantasy for the fun of it.
Congrats Mosc on your win. Also, you remind me the good-old FFF days. But in that light, thanks to FF247 as well to integrate us so smoothly in this community after FFF was shut down. Miss some old pal of FFF, but other than that the fantasy fever remained spot on.
Coming back to FBL, the first week was fun. Thanks to Mito, Init, Ivan and everyone for helping me out and be together in this fun. Even staying in Germany for a while, I somehow always missed the Bundesliga as focus was always on EPL. During weekends whenever I pass by any public place, its all Bundesliga and I keep searching for some screen where someone is watching EPL – but no luck so far. Now, I can have a better look at Bundesliga.
I’ll have the prize if Mosc don’t want it.

Well done Mosc!! That was a truly massive comeback, from last on the first day to first after the end. Unfortunately this is a different system to FPL and doesn’t allow you to see other teams, even now the round is over. Looking forward for some tips from you
Price changes on performance is much better
Yeah. I love that. If you pick the right players you get rewarded for it, if you pick the wrong ones you get punished a tad. So now if you make the right calls on players beforehand you get your reward whereas in fpl you can gain money by just jumping on a bandwagon.
Looking at your side Otieno, it looks like you ended up with a good side for the GW and a better use of your starts would have put you in first. That Wendell killed you. That was tough luck.
Mito, why is not possible to view other teams in the mini league, even now the round is over??
You can look at them. How do you think I know what happened to Otieno.
I go to FF247 Bundesliga and click on any name and I can see the team. Make sure you are on the right matchday, sometimes it puts it on the previous week and obviously no one had a team then so you would see a blank in the XI.
Or it could put you on GW27 and we won’t be able to see that until that round is over.
