Welcome to FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GWX. No, this isn’t an April Fools Day joke, we are actually publishing a Site Team article! Why? Well, because we meant to do one two weeks ago, and then again last week also, but we didn’t, for reasons which we shall expand on later. Perhaps also it is because we are a bit bored, and simply not used to having a break. But also it is to remind you of a few key FPL related things, which may have slipped your mind, understandably.
We shall however begin with an update of our GW29 performance, at least for some semblence of normality, if nothing else. Looking back at it, into what seems like a lifetime ago now, we evidently got a bit shafted with the DGW postponment having brought in Saka and Aubameyang (as captain) specifically for it, and having held onto KDB too. We’ll spare you the horror story of the rest but other than Salah getting a goal we didn’t have a single other player score above 3 points. And we had some good players, with decent fixtures. When your luck is out and all that… It looks like it meant quite a fall in the rankings too, in fact we managed to double our rank from about 82k to 164,492nd.
Onto the two article titles then..
GWX
No, this wasn’t a typo. It’s more because we have no idea when the season will restart, of course, but also less of an idea how. The fact that FPL Towers decided that we could keep making transfers throughout this ‘hiatus’ seemed to be because they presumed it would restart at a later GW. Which now looks less than likely. What is perhaps now more probable is that (if anything) there will be some sort of crammed in mini-tournament style period of about 6 weeks where they will attempt to finish the season. Re-starting at the GW30 cut-off seems the most likely scenario. How FPL deals with that is another matter, given their above stance. Will they simply reset us and ask us to forget all the interim transfers? Anything is possible. But for now we have been asked to crack on regardless, and so we have…
‘Oh, bollocks’, etc
This is a reference to our lack of a recent article. The reality is that we did intend to do one prior to GW31 and we did indeed have a meeting to discuss our phantomtransfers. Only for someone to point out in the midst of said meeting that the deadline had already passed as it was a Friday night one, and not as we all assumed a normal Saturday one! So that was one transfer down the drain. Not that we feel this will matter particularly, as it looks like we will have more than we can possibly use before proceedings get back under way.
And so we sat down in the middle of last week for another meeting… only to discover half way through that one that it was indeed an International Break, as such, and that there was no planned deadline for another week! Pay more attention, we must. Reinstante the Countdown Timer, we have…
Our GW32 Transfer(s)
Crack on regardles, we do. And we have formulated something of a mini-plan. So we thought we would share this with you, for a lack of anything else to actually say at this moment in time!
Bruno Fernandes seems to be our main missing jigsaw piece right now and so we have decided to prioritise him, along with a whole other raft of minor surgeries which we hope shall put our squad in better shape, should this be required as and when To accommodate Bruno this week we have decided to do away with our double Liverpool defence, an idea that was beginning to be in vogue around about GW29…
Beyond this we are looking at something like Saka to Mount and possibly Ings to DCL, but we shall see.

FBL: @Mito, is it good idea to have 15 starters or, 14 starters + 1m scrub? I have the second option now (1m non-starter as FWD).
Since transfer is rolling, that 15th player might be handy, but then he will eat some budget and also can go down in price if does badly.
I prefer to have 15 starters, just because you can sub out bad points. You already have the cheap keepers so you good there. There are a couple of sub 2-3 million players who get decent minutes. I prefer one of them over someone who doesn’t play at all. Lenz who you have fits that category. You could go for someone that’s 1 million who never plays or you could have a Lenz contributing a little. I remember early in the season he had a couple of double digit games including one over 20. If it was a stand alone fixture at the beginning of the GW he would have been the Star on some teams and they would have been very happy.
Jakobs does ok when he plays and he is sub 2 million. Gulde owners this week got 12 points from a 1.8 player.
That’s why I save with the keepers so I can afford the big mids and strikers. Plus if you look at the top 10 there is 3 defenders in there, I would consider them also. If you are going to save, I probably save with a couple of cheap defenders who usually play and keepers. Here and there we get lucky with a mid who is cheap and produces, like Benes, but his minutes are too random for my liking. One can always take a chance with dropping one of the big players like Lewy, but like fpl, if you are not on them when they hit, it hurts like hell as so many have him captain.
My gut feelings were to go with captain Uth after reading many good things about him, but I didn’t. Apart from him, haven’t got any of those. Lots of research to be done in the next couple of days :yes:
Funny, I had Uth in my team until the last moment, had him in for Lewy and was distributing all the money left over into getting Kimmich and another slight upgrade that I can’t remember now, in hindsight that would have been great, but I didn’t like all 3 forwards playing at the same time. Plus Bayern have a bunch of stand alone fixtures, which is fantasy gold. When you are looking for players don’t just look at their form and fixtures, look to see how many stand alone fixtures they have, not that alone should be the decider, but if you are between two players all other things being equal, I take the guy with the stand alone fixture. More cracks at getting the captaincy right. Forwards in particular because you only have 3 that can be very helpful in getting a 2nd shot at the captaincy.
Yep, that’s so true. At least this round things looking better. My 3 strikers playing on different days. Starting with Haaland, followed by Lewa and to finish with Uth in the very last game.
Still, a lot of gambling is involved as it’s just a guessing if the next playing one will do better than the previous.

Feel like Lewy might have grabbed a point, Havertz did get one.
I don’t have Lewa or havertz. My 1 point came from Haaland (earlier 15, now it is 16).
Ah, so it was Haaland then. Couldn’t remember what Lewy had or Haaland for that matter. :mosking:
So, Haaland was on 23 with the star. Wonder if we’ve kept it would that be 24 or more added bonus points…
It would have stayed on 24. 15 x 1.5 is 22.5, they always round up so that 7.5 bonus is an 8. If he had one more point added it be 16 x 1.5 which is 24. So he would have needed more than a point for the captaincy to have increased his total.
Noticed that on Timo as I was wondering how on earth 14 was a derivative of a x 1.5! It was 9, hence 13.5, and just assumed it was a rounded up figure.
One basic question: Are you all seeing the site in German (like me)? or, there is an English version?

I use chrome for the German sites as it translates all of them.
MI use Chrome only. My mistake – did not check the URL. They have 2 versions of the site. Somehow I went to the first one.

Site (on Chrome) and the App both came up in English for me without any configuration. App is worth getting if you haven’t already, couple of things on there which are easier to navigate than the website.
Some of you have already caught on, but so far the best sites I have seen, not necessarily fantasy related, but will help with probable team sheets and previews so you can see the odds on each game.

FPL: Unlimited FT and you can change your entire team. I am not sure if it is a bug or, a new feature is given – its like a WC now. I could not find a statement related to this WC.
Btw. I did not try to do any transfer as I did not know what will happen. I prefer to wait for an official statement from FPL.
I had a quick play GoalMachine and tried to have a bit of fun too and recklessly made four transfers. This is what I saw after trying to push it through:
