league-codes-banner-002

Welcome to our mid-month FantasyFootball 247 Leagues round-up.
Most of us initially will have got into fantasy football through work or friends leagues. Nothing wrong with that, but to really challenge yourself, how about you test your mettle against other Fantasy Football 247 regulars?
Season and Monthly League winners will be awarded a place in our Hall Of Fame – more on that to follow!

The Overall Members League (full season)
With a solid 85 points, Barntons Bashers retain their top position in the main league after GW16. Holding a global ranking of 1,473 and with 1,078 points, they are having a great season, and we are glad to have them setting the bar in our league. Herewegoagain are close behind having moved up to second spot with 1,074 points, and only a further 2 points back, third spot is occupied by Shane-PAIN FC on 1,072 points. New entrant, Robin Van Pricey, are straight in at fourth spot with 1,068 pts, having delivered an impressive 97 points this game week – the highest score of this week’s top 10. James101 make up the top 5, with 1,062 points.

A mere 14 points behind are a 3 man chasing pack, containing second season wonder Michu’s Grassy Ass, and two very experienced managers, Powerful Potty Fc and Cookie’s Monsters, all on 1,048 points. Site regular, Milk and Busquets, follows 4 points off, on 1,044 points, with Norfulk-in-chance closing out our top ten on 1,039. Other notable movers this week include the perhaps misnamed duo, Not so SPECIAL ones and Real Morbid, who both managed to score 103 points, almost double the game-week average of 55 points, moving up to 24th and 31st spots respectively. And no, no Potty Prizes will be awarded for guessing who they captained!

The Monthly League
In top spot at the mid-month point is X Treme, on a very impressive 275 points for the month, including 91 for this game-week. The team’s overall ranking isn’t so high as yet, but with this kind of performance and a team value of £110m we feel that’s going to change fast. In second spot, on 268 points for the month are The Untouchables. Falling to third spot, but only 5 points behind, Killer instincts delivered 263 points in December to date. In fourth spot, on 261 points, are our season league leaders, Barntons Bashers, and Real Morbid rise to fifth on 254 points, lifted by their outstanding game-week.

The Greatest FC enter our rankings at 6, narrowly missing out on a ton, scoring 99 points (unlucky!). In 7th spot this month is James101, with Pimp my Side in eighth spot, at 247 points. Closing out our top ten are Inter ma’nan and Monkeys Nuts.

Many thanks to elleffcee for working out the monthly table – you may notice a slight difference in a couple of the rankings, this is because the monthly charts that are automatically generated do not take all hits into account – clearly these should be factored in to show who’s really performing best.

Not doing too bad for a first timer at this Fantasy Football stuff……hope I can prove myself to be a worthy contender.

    Colriles says:

Question: If price was no issue, who would your must-have back 3 and keeper be for the next say 6-8 GWs?

And am I the only one who thinks about these thing in that period when you’re between sleeping and awake?

Thats called ‘sexytime’ in our house

      chopper2540 says:

      Schesney Hawkes
      Zab. Coleman. Evra

Id have Rocky Dennis sitting as sweeper

      • Colriles says:

lol ‘Sexytime’…. I seem to remember something like that back in the day before our always-crying, never-sleeping bundle of joy came along!

I was afraid of someone saying Evra. His price and ManU’s form in the back has scared me off him all year.

        • Evans or DDG could be options instead of Evra.

        • Colriles says:

Cheers Mito. Do you say this because you like ManU’s defensive prospects for a while?

        • I do. In the end I did not go for Howard thinking DDG could deliver just as much if not more. So ended up waiting until the deadline to supposedly make it, but ended up thinking I just ride Marshall until the WC and invest in Evans/Merts for Terry&Williams. The thing about defenders is, that you hate wasting transfers on them, so might just get to the January WC with what I got and now with Crystal Palace and Hull providing some returns it makes more doable.

        • chopper2540 says:

Ha ha. Ive got no.2 on the way! :cuckoo:

I was thinking of attacking aswell as cs. Manu are sooo due cs. Evra gives alot of attacking options

    Shotts says:

I’ve transferred Roons>>>Kun, and now strongly considering Wallcott>>>Ramsey.

Could I have your guys thoughts please, as I think Ramsey will be playing deeper now Wally is back??

      MarkGL says:

I wouldn’t give up on Ramsey yet. I think he has proven he is more than just a bandwagon player. I would wait at least until the JWC before making that decision.

    • 39.2
      NIN says:

Shotts – Define deeper?? Sitting back and defending like?? Why on earth would Wenger do that? Ramsey is their top goalscorer so he’s not going to just put the shackles on him ya know…there’s loads of points left in him, sell at your peril in my opinion.

      • Shotts says:

Have you noticed that Wilshire is playing in front of him NIN?

        • NIN says:

Shotts – Yeah, but Ramsey hasn’t been staying back,he’s still up there trying to score/create.. even playing behind Wilshere i think there’s a lot of points there for Ramsey.

    • 39.3
      Seth says:

It make sense but it’s a risky, because if Ramsey somehow continue his incredible season, to bring him back will cost a lot.

  4. 40
    Shotts says:

But Seth do you think Wally will out perform Ramsey from now until the end of season?

    • 40.1

If healthy, Theo will outperform all midfielders from here to the end of the season.

      flingy says:

I have no idea why FPL still class Walcott as a midfielder. He’s an inside forward, he stays forward, he stays forward for our counters, he stays forward when we’re defending (90% of the time), he stays forward when we have the ball (unlike Wilshere/Cazorla who drop central to pass about), he’s effectively playing off Giroud.

And to answer your question, yes he will, I’d put money on it.

      • NIN says:

flingy – Hmm,good point that,it can be hard enough to pick between forwards though so maybe FPL are just being nice to us haha…

        • flingy says:

Just make sure you, specifically you (to anyone else reading this, not you!), don’t bring him in until after this weekend. I hear Nathan Dyer is a good option for the coming GW, you should bring him in, captain him, and vice your subbed goalkeeper.

        • NIN says:

Hahaha, maybe bring in Ameobi too,who needs Suarez eh….hah!

    Colriles says:

Can you play around with your Wildcard without confirming? Or are you committed to it once you hit ‘Play Wildcard’?

    • 41.1
      NIN says:

Colriles – Once it’s activated we have until the next GW deadline to make as many changes as we want, once it’s activated bringing in players you don’t want but are rising in value can be a great way ti earn some easy money,it can work the opposite way too though so be careful haha.

      • Eddy says:

Colriles, Nin is spot on, if you play it once gw 20 starts you will have 10 days to make transfers as the fa cup 3rd round is on the first weekend in january. Remember though that the jan transfer window will be going on and a lot of the deals are done towards the end of the window.

    • 41.2
      Colriles says:

Thanks guys. So I guess the answer is ‘No?’ You can’t play around with it to see possible outcomes and then cancel it? Once you hit ‘Play Wildcard’ it’s on!

      • NIN says:

Colriles – Precisely, from the time of activation >> next deadline you can do what you want..make 1000 transfers if you like haha,it cant be canceled though,as you say…it’s on!!

      • flingy says:

You’re right Colriles, but if you don’t want to use your wildcard and still make as many changes as you want, just do whatever you want to your team, make sure you don’t press the ‘confirm’ button or you’ll have a hefty hit coming your way! I regularly do this to check if I can afford certain moves a few weeks down the line.

      • Eddy says:

Colriles, That is right once you hit the confirm button its sh*t or bust mate. You can play around with the players that you bring in and transfer out but be careful of losing money that you have been building up for the past 4 months. You also have the league cup semi finals to think about with week starting 6th jan and week starting 20th jan the designated time slots. So any prem team still in it will need to factor that, at least 3 will feature in the semis mate.

Does anyone on here follow cricket?

    • 42.1
      Eddy says:

Deano…………… we were expecting you a lot sooner mate, where have you been. Look after the Urn for us mate, its just on Loan until 2015. Well played your lads, thoroughly deserved.

      • Great to hear from you Eddy. Thought I was going to have to get on a New Zealand blog to get an answer now that you have gone off the Saffers!

        • Eddy says:

Deano…………… if it was just the saffers i could handle that, all of them need to take stock of what your lads did, Haddin for me has been immense, people say about MJ and Pup but hes been the standout player.
