FF247 League Updates GW22 FPL Fantasy Premier League
Welcome to our FantasyFootball 247 mid-month Leagues round up for January!
Writing this from the side of a rooftop pool in southern central India, I am brought to mind the words of Mahatma Gandhi “Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth”. So hold fast to your convictions ladies and gents, and stay your course, as you fight your way up the league rankings.
The Season League
The festive season is now but a distant memory, though the dark winter nights remain – perhaps more for some managers than others… Wildcards have been played, some profitably, others with more than a few retrospective regrets, and even the occasional cry of “Why Always Me?!” So where has this merry dance left us?
Well, as reliable as Stevie G’s returns, Barntons Bashers hold on to their lead at the top of the league, with 1,486 points, moving a further 9 places forward in the main game to a fantastic number 53 in the overall rankings! What’s interesting is that B-Bash has just played his wildcard (active this week), so we are wondering what that will do to his position over the coming game weeks. In second spot, James101 continues to work his way up the global rankings, moving to 628 overall, up from the mid-900’s last time round. FF247 have recently published interviews with both these managers, to gain what insight we can from their differing approaches.
The knights of ni have moved up two to third spot, with a very impressive 1,435 points, pushing our own Cookie back one place to fourth – a mere 2 points separate these two now, so we will watch developments with interest. Herewegoagain move two places up to fifth spot, on 1,420, followed closely behind by Peps Packers, also up two. Catch me if you Kun are another riser, in at seventh, with all these risers pushing Robin Van Pricey down from fourth to eighth. New entrant Dhula United storm into the top ten with an excellent 70 points for the week, with JTFC moving up one spot from eleventh to tenth, edging out last month’s number 6, Shane-PAIN FC, by just 3 points. In short, it remains pretty close!
The Monthly League
A new month, and a new Monthly League leader, with The Expendables returning an excellent 209 points for the first 3 game weeks; 84 points in this game week alone, a score with a weekly global ranking of 4,000, well done! A single point behind (after hits are factored in), Bocadillo Allstars are in second spot on 208 points for the month and it looks like being a real tussle between those two over the next couple of game weeks. That said, our joint third placed teams, fc sanchez and fc tom tomsk are both easily within fighting distance, on 200 points. Serendipity United (last month’s 5th ranked team) and cola toure hold joint fifth at this stage, 3 points back on 197.
The wonderfully named (if you like your movies) White Boys Day move into seventh spot this week, sharing it ominously with Barntons Bashers, our winner last month. One point further back in ninth are inter ma’nan, who placed tenth last month. Making up our top ten are two teams; creative name team and underdogs, both on 193 points. So the spread between the top ten teams is a mere 16 points, nothing really over a game week, let alone more. Everything still to play for in our opinion!
Many thanks as always to elleffcee for verifying the monthly table – you may notice a slight difference in a couple of the rankings, this is because the monthly charts that are automatically generated do not take all hits into account – clearly these should be factored in to show who’s really performing best.

Who will win the palace v hull match and possibility of a CS?
Who to play at Gk out of boruc (arsenal) or mannone (Stoke)? Leaning towards the later
Farqs,
For me you have to go with stats on the 1st one because its so close. So Palace to keep aclean sheet.
Next one is easier….Mannone
Good Evening….
Inittowinit and others.
Any news on the possible North-West meet?
Potty
Can Anyone RMT Should I’ve transfer out a injured Silva for Mata …?
Mannone
Sagna – Ward – Cahill
Hazard – Silva * – Gerrard – KI
Hooper – (c)SURAEZ – (v)AGUERO
Bench : Adrian – Lallana – Zabaleta – Chester
I was very well thinking of doing that myself…
And I may yet!
Ny difference though is that I have navas, so call me crazy, but I think with city’s from, you do want two of their attackers at least.
But mata sure is tempting!
Also it is only a hamstring and he is on 75% so it isn’t definite he’ll miss the match.
I wish it was more definite! Sure would make some choices easier! 😉
Thank Mate !
Evening all…. well evening here anyways. Care to lend a RMT? 2FTs this week will be Lukaku >Aguero and Ozil >??? (7.2 to spend on a mid) Thoughts?
Speroni, McG
Kosc, Bardsley, Ward (Coleman, Chester)
Haz, Silva, Lallana, Livermore (Ozil)
Suarez, JRod (Lukaku)
I think it has to be eriksen mate!
Great form and totenham are doing very well at the moment!
Thanks Bbob. Eriksen over Cabaye, Ramsey, etc?
Yeah I think at the moment…
Rambo won’t get a start – worth contention then – and cabaye I think will be worth waiting untill we’re sure he won’t leave.
Eriksen is a differencial too.
Also some good picks could be to get Willshire (even if I hate him I still have him) and possibly the ox who got a start in the cup last week.
I like the ox a lot but I think it’s worth waiting to see how he plays.
That’s if you want to keep arsanal cover as they do have fab fixtures and it’d be a shame to miss out.
Cheers, looks like we’re thinking along the same lines! Would love to keep ARS coverage but they may have to wait for Ramsey’s fitness. Not sold on Wilshere but the extra cash would help down the road.
I think I prefer Cabaye but would hate to use my FT on him if he walks.
Actually 7.3 if I act before Aguero’s next price rise.
I would go for Cabaye
Hey guys! Here’s my latest wildcard team.
Szczesny (Mannone)
Gabbidon Coleman Kolarov (Davies) (Shaw)
Ramsey Cabaye Hazard Mata (Mutch)
Aguero Adebayor Suarez.
0.0 in the bank. So the problems I can see are Cabaye possibly going to PSG, Ramsey doubt, Coleman doubt, Mata may not start. What do you think?
Don’t see Cabaye leaving Newcastle in this January window so he should start on Tuesday against Norwich.
Coleman wasn’t in the squad yesterday against Stevenage so I’ve doubt he will start against Liverpool so transfer him out for Jagielka or maybe Cahill he’s got a good chance of a clean sheet against West Ham.
I’ve Seriously doubt Ramsey will play any part in the game on Tuesday so transfer him out for someone like Wilshere,Johnson, ect.
Man United didn’t buy Mata for £37.1m to sit on the bench he should start against a struggle Cardiff.
Thanks Jeet! Are you sure I should sell Coleman? My selling price for him is 6.0 so he’s only 0.1 more expensive than Jagielka. If I wanted to buy him back he would be 6.8, and I was considering benching him this week vs Liverpool (although if he’s out for a while I should sell him). Also, should I transfer Ramsey to Wilshere/Johnson and then transfer him back next week?
Veer bench Coleman this Game Week and hope he fit next Game Week wait until Monday to see if Martinez has anyone news on his injuring.
Get Rid of Ramsey for Johnson/Wilshere both cheap & bringing home the PTS. buy Ramsey back when he start hitting form until then get Rid !
In my opinion I’ve would buy Johnson he’s in Incredible form with 22,13 PTS in his last two Game Week Sunderland vs Stoke next so he could bring in a massive PTS return …!
Thanks again Jeet. Who should I play instead of Coleman, Davies (Palace away) or Shaw (Arsenal home)? I’m at a disadvantage to other players, because I cant see the team sheets, as here in india the deadling is 1am and I have to be asleep as I have an exam the next day!
No probably Mate. I’ve would play Davies not many goal at Selhurst Park so could easily end 0-0 + Can’t see Arsenal NOT Scoring a Goal agaist Southampton. My Prediction Southampton 1-3 Arsenal .!!
Sounds good! So who are you captaining this week Jeet? I’m tempted to go Aguero after his hattrick.
AGUERO Sound Good Mate but am going for SUAREZ at home Merseyside derby both could do well !!
