A 23 man squad? Rules that contradict themselves? A site we can’t trust to load up properly come transfer time? Players we have never heard of? Players valued at £1.0m? This all looks a bit odd… Must be World Cup time, bring it on, we love it!!!…. Welcome to our first ever World Cup ‘Rate My Team’ and to kick proceedings off FF247 has it’s very own fantasy team that is entering the competition!

The site address to enter is Mcdonalds Fantasy World Cup, you can register here. The official site league is called FF247 – simply enter this in the search bar on the league section and press JOIN!

Here is the FF247 team as it stands. FF247 welcomes suggestions and criticism aplenty but don’t be offended if you get it back! We jest, of course. Sort of. He has been known to bite though! FF247 himself will be around to discuss the team itself on this article thread and will take on board your thoughts and suggestions for changes ahead of the deadline on Thursday and there will be updates throughout the tournament as to the teams progress and hopefully thoughts on selection and strategies as it progresses.

This is by no means the final squad that FF247 will go into the competition with but rather an initial attempt at building a squad. A lot will depend on the feedback tomorrow and what is learnt from your own submissions and findings. The final squad will be published later in the week.

We also welcome your own Rate My Team posts on here as you begin to finalise those squads and starting line ups. Thoughts on formations, players or teams to watch, bargains, strategies or just whatever you want to post are welcome as always.

    In all the excitement of moving house and then spending every free hour doing Fantasy onethingortheother (cricket, mls, WC doubles, WC macDs), i’ve only gone and bloomin forgotten to buy a TV to watch the f’ing thing on!

    Will try to pop out and get one tomorrow, but in case the mrs finds me other things to do, does anyone know of any good reliable websites i can watch it on?! (Streams that’ll work outside of the UK please!)

    • When you get tv and a provider make sure you go with DirecTV! Their footy coverage is fantastic, every single game from the EPL is broadcasted and Champions league.

      • Mito, is Direct TV a provider (like Verizon is) or is it a set of channels i can subscribe to? – We’ve already signed up to verizon.
        Definitely looking foward to watching all the 3pm (9am) kickoff on saturdays just as i roll out of bed!

    • Not that I’d ever advocate the use of an illegal streaming website, but I have, ahem, heard tell of a decent one; goes by the name of sportlemon.

    • Chins, you wally!! Haha. I always use Wiziwig for streaming, i’m pretty sure it works in the U.S as well because a few of the MLS guys stream games off it so it should be good to go.

    The Perfect 32 & The Dodgy 32 …..News Update!
    1 = I am awaiting for the whistle to blow in the opening World Cup Game today and then I can finalise my New Article for you all.
    2 = All Groups and New team names will be on it.
    3 = Once the Competition starts YOU on your own Team page will then be able too see your Group and your opponents your up against.
    4 = Buy a Tin Hat asap as the Banter will be huge and some of you will Crumble.
    And finaly……
    I still have a handfull of places available in The Dodgy 32.

    • Morning. So, I haven’t signed up yet, and am about to look into the WC game. The site looks pretty dodge! But anyway, I can’t find anywhere which states the deadline. Anyone care to enlighten me??

    • Potty, if you’re struggling for numbers, is it worth signing up some of the Perfect 32 to the Dodgy comp as well? It would make for a better experience to have someone to play every gameday. I wouldn’t mind being in both, or you could pick a few at random? Works vice versa if you have gaps in the Perfect 32 too.
