FPL launch 2017/18 – Rules Changes and Player Price list
Welcome to FPL launch 2017/18 – Rules Changes and Player Price list. And finally we’re back to normality… No more wondering how to fill those days in the office, pretending to be working on that big project but secretly with an FPL tab or ten open at the bottom. We can finally start tinkering again as the game for the 2017/18 has been launched and the player prices along with it. Let the GW1 RMT’s commence in earnest!
Whether you are new to the game or a relative veteran let’s get some of the basics out of the way –
To either register as a new user or simply renew your team you need to click here… FPL 2017/18
If you have played previously then that will simply allow you to re-register. You will be issued with a new ‘FPL ID’ number though – if you usually link your team to your username on FF247 then you will have to update that link here or you will be showing somebody else’s team. Click on the link and then follow the instructions entitled ‘How do I link my ‘display name’ to my fantasy team?’.
New Rules
After two seasons spent trying to figure out what on earth to do with the All Out Attack chip we can finally forget that one as it’s been replaced with the ‘Free Hit’ chip. We won’t labour the point as we are sure it will be discussed in depth below but basically it means that you can change your entire squad for one week and then it will revert to what it was previously the week after that – particularly useful for such occurrences as a blank (ish) GW or indeed a double one. It adds a layer of strategy to the game, one which will be debated long and hard as to when it will be best to use it.
FPL themselves released this article to explain it fully.
New player prices – some of the new players to the Premiership or those who have changed teams that may interest you:
Alexandre Lacazette (Arsenal) – 10.5m
Jermain Defoe (Bournemouth) – 8.0m
Antonio Rudiger (Chelsea) – 6.0m
Sandro Ramirez (Everton) – 7.5m
Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) – 9.0m
Bernardo Silva (Man City) – 8.0m
Romelu Lukaku (Man Utd) – 11.5m
And some selected old favourites:
Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal) – 12.0m
Eden Hazard (Chelsea) – 10.5m
Seamus Coleman (Everton) – 6.5m
Sadio Mane (Liverpool) – 9.5m
Sergio Aguero (Man City) – 11.5m
Antonio Valencia (Man Utd) – 6.5m
Harry Kane (Spurs) – 12.5m
Gylfi Sigurdsson (Swansea) – 8.5m
You will all have your own views and may spot the glaring bargain that we have missed. So please share your thoughts below on both the new changes to the game (the chips) and also your thoughts on the prices and maybe you’ve even begun to draft your initial squad.
Start posting RMT’s by all means. It’s a long and arduous process so the earlier you start the better! There will be many doing the same so sharing thoughts and ideas on either players, formations or tactics is always welcomed.
For our part we will start posting our pre-season articles on a regular basis now. We will have rundowns on the promoted teams, new signing articles and also coverage of the pre-season games as we build toward GW1 of yet another new season.

What are people’s thoughts on Jesus vs Aguero? Jesus was great when he played and seemed to actually be preferred whenever he was fit. Aguero speaks for himself..
Can’t say I was that involved with the Premier League towards the back end of last season though – will they play both of them? Both upfront?
Aguero seems to be staying so he will play up top. Pep played Jesus with him up top but he also played off the left a lot which is where I think he will play. Because of that I prefer Kun as there is not a massive gap in price now
The interesting value may be Bernando Silva at 8mln.
Could be City have so many options in midfield. It’s Crazy
Cheers Smash. Not a massive gap but enough given the prices this year.
I was looking at him Cookie, just don’t really know how they are going to line up!
According to transfermarkt Jesus played GW37 and 38 on the right (rest upfront) and scored 2 and assisted 2. Naughty. Deployed the pair of them up top for many games.
I hope we get some hinters pre-season.
I’ve been pretty impressed with the amount of different teams this is going to be an interesting season 😉
Just three Silvers, same as usual.
Brighton, Huddersfield and Newcastle this time.
Silvers must be drinking again.
Come on GP I’ve just come in from a BBQ which was excellent there are lots of different players this season more than others I’m trying to stick with fixtures to start then look at form I always enjoy this bit it can give you a big advantage if you get it right at the start 😉
I was bored mate sorry. I read you loud and clear.
Go enjoy the after party!
Slivers, I think everyone is pretty adventurous at the start, but come the GW1 deadline when there’s more data to work with, I’m willing to bet that people will be complaining how similar everyone’s teams are.
Rich, as one of the new updates can you implement an autocorrect feature so I never spell names wrong? Cheers.

Anyone thinking of Rooney for only £7.5m?. I can see him playing up top for us just behind the striker.
No not until wk 6 at least 😉
No10 role for him are you thinking Ant? That’s what I read from his and Koeman’s comments anyway. Telling that when asked the first thing out of Koeman’s mouth was ‘No10’. He then went on to list about 4 about positions including striker….
Its the only position i can see him playing mate.
Yeah I’m considering him think he could come good. However as Silvers said his opening fixtures are pretty horrible
Not with those fixtures. As Silvers said, after GW6.
On other news, Portugal and England will fight for U-19 Euro glory after eliminating Hollande and Czech Republic, respectively, both 1-0 games with West Ham’s Fernandes scoring for Portugal and an apparently City youngstaer, called Lukas Nmecha for England in the 90+4!
May the best men win!
DMC, I noticed those results yesterday. The future for England is looking very bright.
I’ll watch that final on Saturday I think. I do like watching the Portuguese.
Cheers GP! Yeah, England is making a future for herself at least judging on the recent and consistent succes on youth level. Portugal is in that path too and for several years now. This generation are U-17 Euro Champions too! I haven’t see much of this tournament but they do seem consistent in their play. About England, who’s that Sessegnon guy? Is he related to “the” Sessegnon? He looks quality.
Ryan Sessegnon. Plays LB for Fulham, can also play a bit further up, like Alonso.
Yeah as Nike says, he recently signed a big deal at Fulham and he is the cousin of Stephane who played for Sunderland and West Brom. Ryan is English born though so it’s not like he’s switched from Benin to England.
Hello Friends. How you all doing? Good to be back after the hibernation. Good to see back some action. cheers
Morning Constantine good to see you on here again get tinkering 😉
