FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 1
Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 1
And we go again…
Saturday afternoons will never be the same without Jeff, but we shall plough on regardless. The selfish b@stard will no doubt be sunning himself in some far flung destination with a cocktail in his hand. If this was North Korea he’d have died in that chair. Maybe they do get some things right, after all..
And so, with potential death threat no.1 of the season out of the way, down to the action…
We begin on Friday with Man City going to Burnley at 8pm. Get used to Friday’s as it looks like it is a thing again, at least for the opening month.
Saturday begins with Arsenal already chasing, most likely, as they host Forest in the early game.
Simon (Thomas) is our new Jeff at 3pm, he’s a nice bloke, and he gets under way with 4 games – Bournemouth v West Ham, Luton at Brighton, Everton welcoming Fulham and Palace going to The Blades. Clearly they don’t want him to get too overexcited on day 1… The late one should be a good game though as Newcastle host Villa.
That leaves us with 2 on Sunday – Brentford v Spurs at 2pm and Chelsea v Liverpool at 4.30pm. And then the final one is on Monday as Man United welcome Wolves at 8pm.
The games in full…

Bournemouth v West Ham
Areola and Turner, two playing 4 million GK, might be useful as the season goes on.
Turner has looked decent even though conceding 2.
Anyone watching the arsenal game? How has Havertz looked?
I’m watching the game but I was just about to ask people’s opinion on Havertz.
I personally think he’s been rubbish! I just really don’t understand why Arsenal signed him. I’d like to hear other opinions though
From an attacking POV he was not really in it but from a defensive POV I actually thought he was quite good, he broke up play… defended well and was an all round menace.
I watched the game and didn’t think he contributed much at all at either end.
Add my name to the list of people unsure why we signed him. Hoping he’ll come good over time though.
Rice was excellent today though. He’s going to score a few this season.
Overall, the formation was terrible. We’d get picked apart by better sides.
Trossard looked good when he came on.
Arsenal is better off playing trossard. Havertz is an ok player but don’t think arsenal need him at all.
Nice. Gabriel on for the last seconds. Lmao
Arteta did learn from Pep! Should we be surprised Hahaha
7 minutes extra time. Ik expecting a lot of that in the future.
I actually don’t mind it as it means we are guaranteed moneys worth of 90 minutes and does kind of prevent time wasting. Probably won’t be a good thing for fpl defenders though as late goals could become a bigger factor
That was a harsh YC for Estu
Yeah I did think that but I also do kind of understand it as be definitely knew what he was doing. He’d been done and wasn’t going to let the player past
Good start for us Pedro owners..
Unbelievable, just pass it in. He did just get up from a challenge but still.
