  1. 2-0!! By the mighty Dane – Nørgaard smile

    • At this stage I’ll take a point from White, please shock .

      • 37 more games to go. He will not be the first or last 4.5 million defender from a mid-table club to disappoint (Sorry, forgot he is no longer in Brighton and is in a Super League club). Hopefully, he scrapes his way to 100 points over the season

    • Norgaard looks like a big threat on set pieces… almost scored second

    • Sounds like the first bandwagon

  2. Too early to ship out White and Smith-Rowe?

How are Arsenal so bad, not to take anything away from Brentford, but what are Arsenal doing?

    • Arsenal have not been great tonight and that might be an issue but Smith Rowe has been brilliant.

Big season ahead from him perhaps, ill be keeping a keen eye on him for a potential transfer in GW4.

    • Have you seen Brentford play before? I expected this to be very tough.

On ESR, he’s been one of the best players on the pitch.

      • Embarrassing result from Arsenal whatever way you look at it

        • They should have won (on paper) but that game did have ‘big nightmarish FA Cup-upset type of match’ written all over it. Friday night, fans there again, pretty much every neutral wanting Toney to score urging Brentford on, Auba out.

Only way is up, just Chelsea and maybe Lukaku’s debut next.

    • ESR has looked great! Assume you’re not watching but Def a keep if you have! White has had a tough night but patience is FPL 101!

      • ESR issue is his end product not what he looks like though. Arsenal expected to sign an attacking player so we shall see. Fixtures are great from GW4

    • Is that you, Terminators? You told me the other day you were going to behave with the transfers, stop the wildcard each week. Just sit on your hands.

      • Yes it’s me.
I was just wanting peoples thoughts on the Arsenal performance and the two most hyped/owned players from Arsenal.
I know White has a bit of a tough first few GW’s but a pretty easy run for a while after, but I do need a solid £4.5m DEF.

        • I’d really chill out about them. Just bench them if you can then bring them out of storage for the Norwich game.

On the subject of long-in-the-tooth managers I’d’ve thought you would have recognised the folly of listening to anything I say early transfers by now.

          But do as you will…

        • Sounds like a -16

        • I doubt it will be as understated as a -16.

  3. Nooney. Dodged a bullet there.

    • *Toney

    • Looked decent to be fair!

    • Likewise, I went for Vardy, Ings and Antonio until Toney proves himself so I was grateful that he blanked this week

    • A long-in-the-tooth manager like yourself would surely see a bullet dodging after at least three games?

By all accounts he wasn’t too bad tonight – did you think he played poorly?

      • Oh no, he bossed the defenders and was the man of the team. I had expected a return from him in this game.

        • I’m relieved you think highly of him.

When I saw the score was 2-0 I assumed he had scored, such is his scoring prowess. Until I bothered to check. Another time, maybe.

    • I’m predicting a strong start for Bees until they eventually become the whipping boys… A bit like Norwich two years ago….

  4. Blank from Toney. S***y start. How was he in the game BTW?

    • Brentford overall was impressive and he got into some nice attacking areas and showed vision too. I am tempted to join the Toney bandwagon, just looking to see how the rest of the GW shapes up

    • I’d take it on the chin and move on. You were in good company. Today’s the day.

I think for 6.5 Toney could be pretty handy but patience is the key. I agree with Zed in that they may become the whipping boys, or bees, but even then they may go down all guns blazing, or wings buzzing. But we”ll see.

      • Yeah the worry with Toney was Brentford. Brentford looked good which means Toney will come good. No reason to panic

    • I was impressed more by Mbeumo than by Toney. He looked a real handful in and around the box.

      • Second that. He seemed the most forward of the lot and banged a beut on the treework smile

      • Agreed! He looked super lively

  5. Image in my joy waking up to see Brentford won 2-0 laugh
Imagine my disappointment when I realised Toney was not responsible for it. dash lol, still looks like Brentford are up for it,,

    • I checked the score last night and thought, slightly madly, ‘hey up, there’s 10 points’ then chuckled grimly when I saw what had happened. At least he didn’t get sent off or blaze a penalty into the stands etc.

You can’t win ’em all. By all accounts Brentford were all right and may well end up a source of cheapish players – for a bit.

      • Haha yeah my first thought was 10 points.. Oh well. Like you said I reckon they may be a good source for cheap players.

        • GW1 is usually the main time I have a furtive look at other people’s sides in my work ML. See who the main competition will be.

It all makes interesting viewing – lots of Lukaku, Kane, Grealish, a few captaining Toney (suspect they may be Spurs’ supporters) etc. But within that there are some decent, non-template sides.

  6. Sorry if this has already been mentioned but it was class of the Brentford fans for clapping Saka onto the pitch last night. Really nice touch.

Great to have FPL back. Hope everyone gets some good scores on the board.
