Sky are having a ‘mare…

We begin with an early deadline this week as Villa go to Saints in what can only be described as an odd choice by Sky to bother pulling it forward to Friday night and then actually screening it.

Saturday kicks off with the game that should be on at 4.30pm on Sunday (the Manchester v Salford derby).

We often mention Jeff Stelling on here when it comes to the Saturday 3pm games and with good reason because he is a legendary presenter and his show has been one of the best inventions since the PL (football) began. He has also been poorly treated by Sky since this whole pandemic thing began. Initially shorn of any games to actually present they then decided to strip him of all his ‘mates’. The very people who made the show what it was. And he’s finally had enough…

Hopefully there is a grand plan for him and his team and he will pop up presenting the old format on a new platform next season.

This week he has been left with Brentford v Norwich, Chelsea v Burnley and Palace v Wolves.

BT were clearly at the same drinks party as Sky when they all selected this week’s games as they are showing Brighton v Newcastle in the 5.30pm game. *shakes head*

Sunday 2pm seems to be the new Saturday 3pm as we have 3 games at once with Arsenal hosting Watford (on Sky… no words left), Spurs going to Everton (just slightly more interest in that one all things considered, Sky people?!), and Leeds v Leicester (even that looks entertaining on paper, Arsenal / Watford certainly doesn’t!!!).

To be fair to them all West Ham v Liverpool at prime-time 4.30pm does sound tasty, albeit it is probably Saturday night tasty, with pizza, with said Manc derby in this slot.

And that’s where it ends for a couple of weeks as we now go into yet another international break. Stay tuned on FF247 though as we shall be trialing a few new articles during the break.

The games in full…

    When did Vardy become rubbish?

I just can’t seem to get my bench right, Played Sanchez > Foster, Played Mbeumo > Gallagher which was against my gut and went with suggestions. Livramento is my first sub with my front line of Vardy and Jimenez have got me 4 pts.

My bench has racked up 28pts so far.

After such a big boost last gameweek, this one I seem to be missing the big hitters. Chelsea conceding cost me big. Hopefully Liverpool give me something to call positive. Going into the break with 2 FTs will be a good thing.

Hey GP, dunno whether you take an interest in the old 15-a-side game, but just read in the paper that Scotland has beaten Australia at Murrayfield. Good on you – I was going to settle down to work and watch it at the same time, but it had already been played and adjudicated! Bravo! smile

Apparently our national team has been renamed ‘The Wobblies’ (instead of ‘Wallabies’). Ha-ha-ha! smile

Hey GP, by the way, is the Mega League in FFS (let’s not get rude about this title!) another name for the overall rankings? If so, then I’ve had a damned good couple of weeks (despite gettin in Brophy to replace the injure Boyce, whom I shoulda left in my team, so as to get Cochrane’s 11 points off the bench – bloody teeth grinding stuff!). Anyway, just a wee bit of satisfaction! smile

Scotland result in the Rugby was very welcome I say!

The Mega League is the overall yes. You HAVE had a couple of good weeks. Good luck to you, you Wobbly!

Thanks GP – in fact, after reading several reports, Scotland thoroughly deserved the victory. Maybe a renaissance is at hand. In any case, you guys have the better jersey! For the Scottish football, I try to keep in touch and as I said, have been really impressed by Tav’s involvement on the field (he’s in everything!) and Jota & Kyogo for Celtic. But some of my GW performances have been lucky breaks, as I am a wee bit reckless at times. I do try and listen to those guys on the ‘Half-hour Fantasy Podcast’ – they’re really funny and quite laid-back (as well as highly informative about the FFS game). Anyway, cheers mate and good luck with training the wee ones. Must be pretty cool up there atm, as it’s quite chilly here! 😉
