Sky are having a ‘mare…

We begin with an early deadline this week as Villa go to Saints in what can only be described as an odd choice by Sky to bother pulling it forward to Friday night and then actually screening it.

Saturday kicks off with the game that should be on at 4.30pm on Sunday (the Manchester v Salford derby).

We often mention Jeff Stelling on here when it comes to the Saturday 3pm games and with good reason because he is a legendary presenter and his show has been one of the best inventions since the PL (football) began. He has also been poorly treated by Sky since this whole pandemic thing began. Initially shorn of any games to actually present they then decided to strip him of all his ‘mates’. The very people who made the show what it was. And he’s finally had enough…

Hopefully there is a grand plan for him and his team and he will pop up presenting the old format on a new platform next season.

This week he has been left with Brentford v Norwich, Chelsea v Burnley and Palace v Wolves.

BT were clearly at the same drinks party as Sky when they all selected this week’s games as they are showing Brighton v Newcastle in the 5.30pm game. *shakes head*

Sunday 2pm seems to be the new Saturday 3pm as we have 3 games at once with Arsenal hosting Watford (on Sky… no words left), Spurs going to Everton (just slightly more interest in that one all things considered, Sky people?!), and Leeds v Leicester (even that looks entertaining on paper, Arsenal / Watford certainly doesn’t!!!).

To be fair to them all West Ham v Liverpool at prime-time 4.30pm does sound tasty, albeit it is probably Saturday night tasty, with pizza, with said Manc derby in this slot.

And that’s where it ends for a couple of weeks as we now go into yet another international break. Stay tuned on FF247 though as we shall be trialing a few new articles during the break.

The games in full…

It crossed my mind to have a punt with TAA (C) but after two big mistakes in GWs 7 and 9 was scared sorry

Well I’d say we have a very happy Hammerfan tonight don’t we? Hey mate – savour the moment, as you guys are in a really good spot at the moment! Cheers and all the best! smile

now I wonder who that hammerfan is…lol

think you are forgetting that other hammersfan as well… think he is called hammers

Savouring very moment of it – cannot believe it, and enjoying it. Who knows how long it will last.

      Thanks AJW – COYI!!!

      • AJW says:

Sorry HF – I sometimes get you guys mixed up, but when I see your profile photo, I know it’s you (strange, since I dunno what you look like really – the same as people associate that giant rabbit with myself, even though it was a photo I took in a community garden somewhere ).*In any case they played really well! smile

        • hammerfan_lm says:

Thats ok AJW. I can confirm, unfortunately I look like my profile picture laugh plus you know I am the hammersfan, with my username laugh

They sure did play really well – scary last few minutes when it was 3-2, but we held out good

        • AJW says:

Well that is good to know that you are an honest person and a real West Ham supporter! Good luck and keep on keeping on! Enjoy the recent success.smile

WH level on points with 2nd place City… shock. Their fans must be besides themselves.

What a player Rice is becoming (always looked very special) but he’s getting even better. I think he’s also carrying Soucek this season which makes it even more impressive.

I know GP. My biggest concern is, the better Rice gets, the more the vultures circle for him in the summer. If he has any sense, he needs to think that, ok maybe CL might be a smidgen too far for us (on current form maybe not), but West Ham is where he needs to stay. Man Utd – waste of time, Chelsea – potential, but staying put is his best bet.

    Chapeau to Rosco hi
Once again he showed us how is done. Played BB and 25 points is great good

      Rosco says:

Thanks mate, an unbelievable week and I’ve jumped to 474th wacko

      • Brookyboy says:

Well played Rosco.Considered the bb myself but wasn’t sure Duffy would start. Now why couldn’t Foster save a pen last week when I played him over Ramsdale ! unknw

      • KI says:

A great idea. After staring at that BB card forever last year, I’ve now got it. I’ll have to watch for an opportunity.

      • Tornado says:

Congrats, Rosco! What an awesome move! Such a Maverick! bravo
I don’t know how you do it but you always seem to find the right move (touch wood…don’t want to jinx you or anything, I am just an admirer of yours hi)! You gotta teach me how to play this game (I am not even joking) laugh

        • Rosco says:

Haha thanks mate, just got lucky I guess! I mean how often is foster going to save a pen!! wacko

        • Tornado says:

There is always a bit of luck involved but still nicely done from your behalf!
Tbh, I might need Foster to save something next week (if I don’t end up using my WC), as I have Sanchez in goal laugh

I am struggling a bit atm (many red arrows), so I am trying to get as much help as possible and I’d appreciate your advice. Would you WC this lot (I know it’s not urgent to do so but things are just not quite happening for me right now and I’d like to own Cancelo, James, Son, etc)?

        • Tornado says:

Screenshot of my team might help lol

        • Rosco says:

On the surface it doesn’t look like it ‘needs’ a WC but I personally don’t use my own out of necessity. I try to play mine to gain an advantage and attack a turn of fixtures for multiple teams that I know others who don’t WC can my reach as quickly.

If you’re WC would be moves such a chilly to james and Dias to cancelo then no I’d hold. If however you have also picked out some key fixture swings and want to attack those then I’d say hell yeah!

Spurs would be the team to target in the short term, given that they look rubbish though that’s a more risky strategy than say targeting City ahead of their nice run!

It’s all about risk and reward, take a few and hope for a bit of luck along the way!!

        • Tornado says:

Thanks a lot, Rosco! I really appreciate your wise words. I am torn between using it now or in GW15. Decisions, decisions…

      Carolyn says:

Played my bench boost and got 27 points, really delighted xx

      • Rosco says:

You’ll have to write about this drinks well played Bonny lass ( as we say in geordie land!!)

      • But Carolyn, you always have been the dark horse laugh
I’m going to have a shot in the dark and go for TC soon as those DGWs are proper trap and I ain’t waiting for them yes

        • Smash says:

How are double game weeks a trap laugh. You get potentially two games compared to one that’s better odds generally. Sure BB worked out this week as that’s different to TC. But even so Foster saved a pen you can’t predict that

        • In DGWs always players are rotated as we know. You get one and hope that he will play the next, which is unlikely. Show me a proper success with someone who played their DGW chip wink

        • AJW says:

          Maybe not MO Salah!

        • Kralin says:

Players are rotated from sides that rotate. Other players are dead certs for both games.

I completely salute Rosco and Carolyn for seizing the moment and their terrific GWs this week – as well as removing the headache of playing the chip at the right time – but I would always bank on a double GW to play BB. Your odds of success are much better. I haven’t screenshot good ones I’ve had in the past but I’ve – as all of us have (apart from you, perhaps, based on your comments) – enjoyed some success with that chip.

      • Tornado says:

Well played, Carolyn! Great use of BB!

        • AJW says:

Sorry one and all for my irrelevant call above – it was meant (I think) for another post. Yes, congratulations Carolyn and Rosco – that’s amazingly astute -I think that I used this word the other day when I said that my FPL dream was to be the AI combination of you both!!!
Really nice work there you two! Go for it guys!
          Best wishes AJW. 😉
