Sky are having a ‘mare…

We begin with an early deadline this week as Villa go to Saints in what can only be described as an odd choice by Sky to bother pulling it forward to Friday night and then actually screening it.

Saturday kicks off with the game that should be on at 4.30pm on Sunday (the Manchester v Salford derby).

We often mention Jeff Stelling on here when it comes to the Saturday 3pm games and with good reason because he is a legendary presenter and his show has been one of the best inventions since the PL (football) began. He has also been poorly treated by Sky since this whole pandemic thing began. Initially shorn of any games to actually present they then decided to strip him of all his ‘mates’. The very people who made the show what it was. And he’s finally had enough…

Hopefully there is a grand plan for him and his team and he will pop up presenting the old format on a new platform next season.

This week he has been left with Brentford v Norwich, Chelsea v Burnley and Palace v Wolves.

BT were clearly at the same drinks party as Sky when they all selected this week’s games as they are showing Brighton v Newcastle in the 5.30pm game. *shakes head*

Sunday 2pm seems to be the new Saturday 3pm as we have 3 games at once with Arsenal hosting Watford (on Sky… no words left), Spurs going to Everton (just slightly more interest in that one all things considered, Sky people?!), and Leeds v Leicester (even that looks entertaining on paper, Arsenal / Watford certainly doesn’t!!!).

To be fair to them all West Ham v Liverpool at prime-time 4.30pm does sound tasty, albeit it is probably Saturday night tasty, with pizza, with said Manc derby in this slot.

And that’s where it ends for a couple of weeks as we now go into yet another international break. Stay tuned on FF247 though as we shall be trialing a few new articles during the break.

The games in full…

To be honest no forwards are looking fantastic. I think there could be an argument for 1 cheapie and going 2 up top.

      • bees393 says:

WC’ing…so will probably go with Antonio, Ronaldo (fixtures) and Hwang.

      • Otieno says:

I’ve got Toney and Hwang ,and intending to move Vardy to Ronaldo in a few weeks. I can’t see too many strikers worth spending money o

        • hammerfan_lm says:

ah ok good just looking through the forward and was stumped!!!

I intend on swapping out Vardy for either Kane/Lukaku or whoever has a decent run of fixtures.

        • Hammerfan, both Kane and CR7 have tremendous fixtures (on paper) over the Christmas period, starting from GW 12. Not sure how fit Luka will be but he should be nearing full recovery by then.
My gut feelings are to go with Kane, tried and tested plus Conte might have an impact. Ronaldo is at his career sunset and don’t see much zest like from the past.

        • hammerfan_lm says:

looking at my funds, might not be able to get Kane as he is alot more dosh.
Lukaku is within my budget unless i ditch CR7 for Kane, and swap Vardy for Lukaku.

        • Quite frankly, I want both Kane and Luka, not keen on CR7. The only way to do this is to downgrade Havertz to a 5.0 mid which will be very risky. Of course the ideal is to have the Kane&Son duet as Conte’s favourite formation is 3-5-2 and they will be leading the pack. That throws Reguilon in the mix which makes it even more complicated. Let’s see how Spurs do tomorrow and we’ll take it from there.

        • Reg83 says:

          Ivan,
U have a lot of confidence in Spurs bcoz of a coach change.
It may make sense to get in 1 of them but wouldnt bet everything on Spurs. yes
Having said that I also may take a short term punt on Kane (vardy out) and wait till CR7 fixture vs Chelsea is over. If he finds form, I may keep him a tad longer. yes
i prefer son but team structure makes kane easier to get

        • Reg, that’s true. I think Kane is the way to go. He is still keen to leave but with the push from Conte he will do some good display until the January window. As for CR7 and the Chelsea game, I wouldn’t be worried much, we usually draw or beat them, check the history wink

        • hammerfan_lm says:

I would want to keep CR7 for the game against Watford, even though I dont fully trust Man Utd at the moment. For GW13 I could get Kane in (for a weeks punt) and if he does well, keep him.

As for Vardy, he is out out. Lookkakooo in after the IB I think as he will be back on form – you heard it hear first.

    That must be wrong
James with just an assist and receiving YC gets 3 and Havertz the scorer just 1 crazy
