Sky are having a ‘mare…

We begin with an early deadline this week as Villa go to Saints in what can only be described as an odd choice by Sky to bother pulling it forward to Friday night and then actually screening it.

Saturday kicks off with the game that should be on at 4.30pm on Sunday (the Manchester v Salford derby).

We often mention Jeff Stelling on here when it comes to the Saturday 3pm games and with good reason because he is a legendary presenter and his show has been one of the best inventions since the PL (football) began. He has also been poorly treated by Sky since this whole pandemic thing began. Initially shorn of any games to actually present they then decided to strip him of all his ‘mates’. The very people who made the show what it was. And he’s finally had enough…

Hopefully there is a grand plan for him and his team and he will pop up presenting the old format on a new platform next season.

This week he has been left with Brentford v Norwich, Chelsea v Burnley and Palace v Wolves.

BT were clearly at the same drinks party as Sky when they all selected this week’s games as they are showing Brighton v Newcastle in the 5.30pm game. *shakes head*

Sunday 2pm seems to be the new Saturday 3pm as we have 3 games at once with Arsenal hosting Watford (on Sky… no words left), Spurs going to Everton (just slightly more interest in that one all things considered, Sky people?!), and Leeds v Leicester (even that looks entertaining on paper, Arsenal / Watford certainly doesn’t!!!).

To be fair to them all West Ham v Liverpool at prime-time 4.30pm does sound tasty, albeit it is probably Saturday night tasty, with pizza, with said Manc derby in this slot.

And that’s where it ends for a couple of weeks as we now go into yet another international break. Stay tuned on FF247 though as we shall be trialing a few new articles during the break.

  1. Who is going to replace Sanchez? Steele? If him, then I have him. rofl

    • They do have another keeper on their books too

    • I’ll see how the break goes. If I have other fires to put out I’ll not worry about it too much. If I don’t have fires etc then I may drive up the M23 and sign the Palace keeper.

    • I have Steele to. It was unfortunate that they could not sub on a keeper, so we could feel more confident.

  2. Anyone else with Vardy Captain this week?

    • Auba captain here, could pay dividends as barely anyone has him. Could also be a repeat of two weeks ago where I captained Havertz instead of Sarah’s 24 points rofl

    • No but good luck. I have him as vice-captain. He hasn’t done much since I brought him in so hopefully a goal or more will happen.

    • No but hopes he gets me a good bye gift after disastrous 1 pointers.
      Unless he gets a mega haul he ll be shipped to cr7 or kane nexr week.

    • I hope Kane does well today. He is in my WC draft.

      • I would have thought the opposite would be true, in terms of cooling interest and getting someone (momentarily) unfashionable.

    • I am planning to get kane in a for a hit next week. Partly to get jota back and benrahma after i sold him this week thinking too much rotation. Of course then firmino gets a serious hamstring injury.

    • I think I will start with a festive formation after the break! Surely You have to play Mbuemo, but then again not sure who for.

      • I might do. I might even sell him Or Toney I am undecided. I can get Lukaku for free for Vardy but if I want Kane I need a downgrade

        • Would give Toney the chance vs Newcastle perhaps and then decide. That said, he has been disappointing a lot of owners thus far, so can appreciate the sentiment to move him aside.

        • Depends how much I want a Spurs player I guess as one would need to go

  5. Another week that I look great on paper, and yet another 13 points from 5 players (I know the GW is not over but I only have one of the most highly owned players left to play).
    I think I will activate my WC just because nothing is going my way in the last 3-4 GWs. I am pretty sure that the players I currently own will be spectacular once I sell them but I just feel like I need to change something to stop the free falling.

    Anyway, who would your go-to players be on a WC?

    • See post 39, looks decent to me

    • I’m not sure it’s all pretty tough to predict. Liverpool, City and Chelsea are the best teams. Spurs have a good run so maybe as many players from those teams as possible. Arsenal have plenty of enablers. No idea what’s going on with Brentford

    • Cheers Dane and Smash! I think it’d be something like:
      Mystery GK
      Cancelo, TAA, James/Chilwell (or both), maybe Reguilon
      Salah, Son + enablers
      Forwards : no idea who is worth it, probably Antonio and CR7 after GW15

      • This is my current team. Looks alright but points are not coming

        • Not sure it needs a wildcard that.I’d hold it.What transfer did you do this gw ?

        • Dane, I know it looks fine, it does look fine every week and then a big, fat, red arrow. I am losing both patience and will to play, so I guess I gotta change something.

          Brooky – I did Benrahma to Mbeumo which was a terrible mistake (I expect Benrahma to score just to finish me off). I knew ESR was the more logical pick but went for Mbeumo because of my stupid gut feeling. And tbh, I think that ESR is biggest overperformer (if that’s even a word) so far this season. I know it doesn’t need a WC but it’s just too damn frustrating lately.

        • Rapha got you a goal and you still have 3 to play.Team looks decent you’ve just been a bit unlucky this week.Enjoy the international break and come back refocused smile
