FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 16
Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 16
One week and one day out from the World Cup and we round out the first ‘half’ of this odd FPL season with matches across Saturday and Sunday.
First up Manchester City in the first kick off, at home, against a west London side, who plays/who’s benched …
*cold sweat*
Brentford come to East Manchester for a 12.30pm kick off. Deadline is 11am UK time.
We have five 3pm matches to entertain us. Bournemouth play host to Everton, Liverpool have Hasenhuttl-less Southampton at Anfield. Forest play Palace by the Trent, Spurs take on Leeds and across London it is West Ham United versus rejuvenated Leicester City.
Match of the weekend – Newcastle v Chelsea at St James’s is at 5.30pm.
Sunday starts on the South Coast as De Zerbi battles Emery in the newby-manager game as Brighton welcome Aston Villa to the Amex. Lastly (and when this one kicks off we will be less than 7 days from World Cup kick off time), Fulham v Manchester United will be the last Premier League – and FPL – ball kicked this side of Christmas.
The games in full

FF247 LEAGUES FOR 2022/23
Fantasy Football 247 League Codes:
Both leagues will be shut to new entrants as of 01/01/23.
Bournemouth v Everton
Forest v Palace
West Ham v Leicester
Both ends of the pitch, very good game by Brentford and they took all their chances.
Amazing scenes at the Etihad. Loved the emotion from that tiny sector of the stadium where the only remaining part of the crowd (the Bees’ faithful obvs!) were ecstatic, and the rest of the ground had virtually emptied in just 5 minutes! (And I have to admit, I’m one of those neutrals who loves watching City in full flight – but today it was the City fans in full flight…for the exits! 😉 ). Cheerio one and all!
And thanks to our friends at The Guardian (Wasn’t it originally ‘The Manchester Guardian’, back in the day?) for this very wise quip from Ivan Toney:
“They might be Man City but they’re humans and humans can lose games.”
Wasn’t Pool the most consistent in the back since like forever a season or two ago? What happened? Lmao. I mean, TAA not getting assists is one thing, but they are leaking goals.
Running on adrenline at the business end of last season. Another year older, slower in some cases and games coming thick and fast. Squad depth not there
No Henderson to cover for Trent.
