FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 17
Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 17
We are underway on Friday this week with Nottingham Forest v Tottenham Hotspur under the lights and next to the Trent. A decent way to kick off the weekend’s action hopefully.
Saturday has no lunchtime game so we are in limbo until 3pm when Simon and the lads have four games to bring us. Bournemouth v Luton in the battle of the two smallest gorunds ever in the Premier League when quality and not quantity will hopefully be the order of the day (but let’s be honest, no one is seeking out a link for this one!). Simultaneously, we are at three mammoths of grounds in PL terms as Chelsea welcome the Blades to the Bridge, Manchester City host the Eagles and Newcastle have Fulham at St James’s.
Saturday evening sees Burnley v Everton as Everton look to continue their excellent recent form and climb into the safety of mid-lower table as they await their day in front of the appeals panel and a possible European spot if all goes well.
Sunday has three 2pm games as the Thursday Night Crew get themselves geared back up for domestic action. Brighton go to Arsenal after their Marseille match, West Ham regroup after Freiburg with a match against Wolves at the London Stadium and lastly Villa travel to the G-Tech at Brentford after their trip to Zrinjski Mostar in the Conference League. All three can land on Sunday as European Group Winners as well.
Manchester United, who used to be decent in Europe, travel to Anfied at 4.30pm. Yikes.
The games in full

Happy with your Eve boys?
Tell you in about 2 hours
Think they’ve been doing really well, lately?
Bournemouth game now called off
Get well soon Tom Lockyer
What happened?
Collapsed on field. Taken off on a stretcher and to a hospital for heart surgery.
Correction, the heart surgery was last May when he collapsed in a previous match.
2nd time I think it has happened. Las time was in the play off final.
Don’t know what they do about the FF points either
Oh hell, poor bloke. That’s shocking news.
Hats off to the Toffies. After the ridiculous penalty and deduction of 10 points they have gone stronger and stronger
Agreed, strong mentality displayed by the fans and the team! I was genuinely worried for them.
I hope they ll get the 10 pts back after appeal. Then they could challenge for top 6 perhaps
I still have both Alvarez and Haaland, I might just keep Haaland through this mess, but should I stick with Alvarez too? He has not done the needful, needed to have provided points today too.
I kept Alvarez and sold Haaland. Pep said that the situation with the latter is week by week and with all the rumours the he could be for sale in January I will worry about when things are clearer.
I have had enough of alvarez. Gonna sell him for probably solanke.
I am sure haaland won’t be sold in January. Thats just crazy. Will get haaland back assuming fit by selling salah soon who will go to afcon.
Solanke is the one I got for him. Not exactly fireworks, a bit like Salah, one goal wonder. Anyhow, by the time everything is settle we’ll have the second WC.
I’m going to hold both until I know more about City’s DGW. I’ll make a decision then. No rush really
If prob get rid of Alvarez. KDB is back in light training so a few weeks away. Haaland was difficult as I had Lascelles/Gabriel I could play i kept. Maybe we will be ahead on transfers next week
Smash, what about Nkunku? He made the bench yesterday, which means could start next Sunday.
Nah one more bench appearance at least
Evening all, another crazy GW for many a reason. How are we all doing?
I was at St James so missed all the afternoons games, it’ll be interesting to see what happens with the Bournemouth game, seems you can’t say things like this on Twitter without being shot on the spot.
Think we need to get the conversations back up and running here, always felt like a nice space to be away from all the nonsense with like-minded folk. Ever since lockdown it feels like maybe the community has went in different directions, maybe as contributors we need to do more. I’ll certainly give it a shot over the festivite period when I tend to have more time on my hands. So, apologies from me for not being present, let’s get some Christmas spirit back into 247! Much love!
Cheers Roscoe
The way I see it, if the PL don’t make a decision before the GW finishes, then the points will probably stay as they are, without bonus.
If they decide its a full replay, then they’ll get wiped, if it’s result stands, then the bps will get added.
If they decide to play the final 30mins this week, which I can’t see happening, then it’s just a case of picking up where they left off.
Whatever they do makes for an interesting GW. Lots of people brought him in, and I’d imagine a few for a hit.
