FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 17

Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 17

It’s a quick turnaround this week with a midweek fixture fest to get us right in the mood for Christmas and the chaos ahead. This one spans three days from Tuesday to Thursday and then we begin again on Saturday.

Tuesday itself sees three games, all spread out slightly. with Brentford welcoming Ralf and his new spangled clean sheets at 7.30pm, Villa going to Norwich at 7-47pm before Pep and Bielsa have their usual cuddle at 8.

Wednesday looks relatively uninteresting, if we are being brutally honest, with Brighton v Wolves, Burnley v Watford and Palace v Saints all at 7.30pm. Just say you are washing your hair or something instead. Arsenal v West Ham should be a bit more lively at 8pm. It’d have to try hard not to be.

Thursday looks tastier with Leicester (maybe) hosting Spurs at 7.30pm, Everton going to
Chelsea at 7.45pm and Liverpool reminding Eddie that he isn’t allowed any trees this Christmas at 8pm.

    • Free wildcard. Just got to play what’s in front of us

      • What’s in front of us is a bit like a moving target. But anyhow, I’m pretending all the games currently scheduled will happen.

  2. Guys any suggestions here? 1ft and 0.2 itb.

    • Ronaldo>Laca or de Gea>Ramsdale depending on how you feel about having no GK. I don’t think a -4 to do both is out of the question.

    • New keeper + Watkins I think.

    • Ronaldo to Watkins and go with that

  3. Thoughts on who should go? Antonio and Livra maybe. 2FTs and 3.0 itb

    • I would keep Livra and maybe think about (little red) Lacazette for Antonio?

        Must admit it feels weird to consider one of gunners’ forwards, but indeed might not be bad vs Leeds ‘n Norwich

        • Smith Rowe also an option, albeit with will-he-start anxieties. Not that that seems to matter with Smith Rowe.

    • Personally I’d get rid of sissoko ….although not many great options playing this gw, think there’s even fewer with the forwards. 7.5 could get you Gundy against Newcastle!? Ziyech could be a fancy punt. Or could go Arsenal midfielder, ESR or Odegard and upgrade Livra to a city defender such as Diaz/Laporte/Stones?

      • Thanks. Livra to Cancelo was a thought, but I don’t think I’ll go for a 3-5-2 by beefing up my mids.

    • Regulion and Sissoko to White/Target and Foden?

    What do you think I should do this gw?
    1FT & 0.1itb
    I could do Ronaldo to Watkins and if big Ron doesn’t drop I’ve got 0.1 itb to buy him back, or ….
    Do Antonio to Watkins tonight before Watkins price rise, but that would mean I wouldn’t have enough to buy Antonio back. Watkins in better form. Both got good fixtures and I’ve got Bowen for West Ham cover, but I feel Antonio is the better forward and worried I can’t get him back if hits form again!
    Either would be without hits ….happy to take a -4 but I can’t really see any options that would be worth it?
    Any suggestions?

    • I’d just get Watkins and worry about the other things next GW – whenever that may be.

      • That’s the plan …. But for who…. Big Ron and swap back or Antonio for good?

        • Just ditch Antonio for now. He hasn’t scored since 50BC.

  5. Hi all! As I’m sure is the case with a lot of people, my team has been decimated! I’ve got 2FTs and 0.7 in the bank! Any suggestions here with 7 of my team not playing.

    • Watkins and a Chelsea defender.

    • I think Townsend should go as he is flagged. Perhaps CR7 and Townsend to Watkins and Foden?

      • May be Williams to James as well. We need 15 decent players at the moment, may as well take the -2s and hope for returns.

    • Watkins for Ronaldo amd Foden for Townsend

  6. First things first, can I just say what a wonderful season and overall ranking our very own Rosco is having.

    115 overall out of 8,803,514 players; truly amazing my friend.

    You are only 47 points off top spot which is well do able.

    A few good differential transfers might make all the difference.
