Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 2

GW1 went off sans drama, no last-minute cancellations, no Covid drop-outs, no ad-hoc midweek games, no nothing really. And GW2 begins roughly a week later. Dare we say we could almost be back to normality?*

*touches wood, wishes on a stray eyelash and looks for a four-leaf clover

As for GW2 itself, we begin with two GW1 losers as Villa welcomes Everton at 12:30 That’ll be a cracker…

If you are still awake at 3 pm, then there are actually some intriguing encounters to behold as Leicester goes to Arsenal. At least it is that way around or else seeing Arsenal’s players subjected to the Post Horn Gallop in training would have been almost reminiscent of a scene from Guantanamo Bay. And yes this is too good not to be a regular feature of LMC. Reference All or Nothing if you haven’t got a Scooby what we are on about. Reference Hanna-Barbera cartoons if you don’t know what a Scooby is and work your way backwards.

Anyway, enough rabbit holes… Brighton hosting Newcastle also looks tasty, from a purist’s POV anyway, whereas Man City vs Bournemouth looks scary. At least for the latter. Saints v Leeds should be good, as will be Wolves v Fulham before we have our first relegation six-pointer of the season as Man Utd go to Brentford in the later KO @ 5:30 pm.

Sunday begins at 2 pm with another pair of GW1 losers as Forest welcomes West Ham. The showcase game does look like a cracker at 4:30 as Chelsea and Spurs clash in the Antonio Conte Derby.

We then have our first Monday night game as Liverpool welcome Palace at 8 pm. Enjoy the game week everyone!

  1. Liverpool need to win this game later and not concede any goals and Diaz to get a hat trick. That would be nice

  2. 62 points with Salah, Nunez, and Trent to go. Happy with that.

  3. Trying to avoid 5-2-3, but find myself looking at Kulu, Tomiyasu, Ward vs James, Cucurella, Ramsdale. Hard to ignore value in Defence, but not the most exciting to load up on Defence!

    • James is almost a left mid when Chelsea attack.

      He’s ranked as of now they 3rd in terms of threat and a lot cheaper.

      Cucurella looks great to, but might be asked to slot in at cb at times

  4. Disappointing start to the season despite weeks and weeks of pre season research.

    Currently on 98 points with Trent and Mo tonight.

    My differential players have not delivered so far.

    Done a transfer already to avoid Rashford price drop.

    Currently 123rd out of 133 in the Regulars League.

    Any need for a rage wild card?

          There are still 371 matches left to play so I won’t worry at all yet.

          I know they have high ownership but taa and salah could change your game week tonight

    • Points will come…. That’s not far from a wc-team.

    • On that side I don’t think I’d look to change others than Bailey and Bruno. Mount and Zinchenko maybe derserves another round to assess – overall this is very far from a WC in my book.

      • +1. My marginals are not delivering either, but they’re easy to fix. The spine of the team is good.

    • I took some similar punts including Rashford, Dalot, Mount, Kane, Neto, double pool defence which all backfired. I have done Kane to Halland, Rashford to Martinelli pretty quickly.

      Keeping an eye on the others. Incremental changes should be okay for you. GW 8 is a great time to WC, fixture swings for many teams. International break too

  5. Dennis has entered the game on 6.0. I dare you to get him. On a doubleweek. With the armband on.

    No really, nothing could go wrong. Whatsoever.
