GW1 went off sans drama, no last-minute cancellations, no Covid drop-outs, no ad-hoc midweek games, no nothing really. And GW2 begins roughly a week later. Dare we say we could almost be back to normality?*
*touches wood, wishes on a stray eyelash and looks for a four-leaf clover
As for GW2 itself, we begin with two GW1 losers as Villa welcomes Everton at 12:30 That’ll be a cracker…
If you are still awake at 3 pm, then there are actually some intriguing encounters to behold as Leicester goes to Arsenal. At least it is that way around or else seeing Arsenal’s players subjected to the Post Horn Gallop in training would have been almost reminiscent of a scene from Guantanamo Bay. And yes this is too good not to be a regular feature of LMC. Reference All or Nothing if you haven’t got a Scooby what we are on about. Reference Hanna-Barbera cartoons if you don’t know what a Scooby is and work your way backwards.
Anyway, enough rabbit holes… Brighton hosting Newcastle also looks tasty, from a purist’s POV anyway, whereas Man City vs Bournemouth looks scary. At least for the latter. Saints v Leeds should be good, as will be Wolves v Fulham before we have our first relegation six-pointer of the season as Man Utd go to Brentford in the later KO @ 5:30 pm.
Sunday begins at 2 pm with another pair of GW1 losers as Forest welcomes West Ham. The showcase game does look like a cracker at 4:30 as Chelsea and Spurs clash in the Antonio Conte Derby.
We then have our first Monday night game as Liverpool welcome Palace at 8 pm. Enjoy the game week everyone!

Hi people! Hope you’re all having a good GW!
Know it’s early but I always WC early on and I wanna avoid the price drops on my ‘punty’ players such as Neto, Bailey and Perisic! What do you think of these options?…..
1-no WC – Bailey to Andreas/DaSilva & Neto to Rodrigo. Good fixtures but also feels a bit ‘punty’ and is he that much of an upgrade on the previous 2? ….would be at the cost of -4pts as well which I’m trying to avoid and I’d still have Pulisic too who looks likely to drop tonight!
2-WC – Bailey/Neto/Perisic/N.Williams/Saka to Andreas/DaSilva/Chilwell or Diaz/Gabriel/Luis ….this would give me a solid 11 of players from the top 5/6 teams (apart from keeper) that are unlikely to be rotated at all…set and forget with 2 decent mids as backup! With this team I can easily hold out till the GW16 WC and all players have easy swaps at their price points if an injury pops up!

I definitely wouldn’t want to WC this team.
Neto and Bailey to 4.5 + Rodrigo seems fine (wouldn’t do this on a hit though).
You can also do Perišić to 4.5’er and Bailey to a 6’er if that was a consideration.
I’m not sure your WC team is much better than your current team.

I’m considering Rodrigo too (post above) as already have martinelli but am leaning towards trying to stick with any of the top 6 teams if possible so Martinelli would be my choice if one or the other. Always thought this could be Martinellis break out season and with the Brazilian bromance at Arsenal now, I think he has the edge over any Leeds players personally(no offence to any Leeds supporters …may be biased)

I wouldn’t transfer out Perisic BEFORE he even plays this gameweek. I think you have to stay patient tonight. There are plenty of other options cheaper than him if need be.
