Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 2

GW1 went off sans drama, no last-minute cancellations, no Covid drop-outs, no ad-hoc midweek games, no nothing really. And GW2 begins roughly a week later. Dare we say we could almost be back to normality?*

*touches wood, wishes on a stray eyelash and looks for a four-leaf clover

As for GW2 itself, we begin with two GW1 losers as Villa welcomes Everton at 12:30 That’ll be a cracker…

If you are still awake at 3 pm, then there are actually some intriguing encounters to behold as Leicester goes to Arsenal. At least it is that way around or else seeing Arsenal’s players subjected to the Post Horn Gallop in training would have been almost reminiscent of a scene from Guantanamo Bay. And yes this is too good not to be a regular feature of LMC. Reference All or Nothing if you haven’t got a Scooby what we are on about. Reference Hanna-Barbera cartoons if you don’t know what a Scooby is and work your way backwards.

Anyway, enough rabbit holes… Brighton hosting Newcastle also looks tasty, from a purist’s POV anyway, whereas Man City vs Bournemouth looks scary. At least for the latter. Saints v Leeds should be good, as will be Wolves v Fulham before we have our first relegation six-pointer of the season as Man Utd go to Brentford in the later KO @ 5:30 pm.

Sunday begins at 2 pm with another pair of GW1 losers as Forest welcomes West Ham. The showcase game does look like a cracker at 4:30 as Chelsea and Spurs clash in the Antonio Conte Derby.

We then have our first Monday night game as Liverpool welcome Palace at 8 pm. Enjoy the game week everyone!

The games in full…

I don’t like seeing people posting the prices from http://www.fplstatistics.co.uk/ and I think the person who runs the site should be supported, but I had to post this screenshot of the Man U players shock
They are being threw out of players teams like yesterdays ………………!

Worth WC to sort midfield and keepers out?..

Got two FT, ideally Odegaard for Martinelli but Coutinho probably needs to go too?…

3m ITB. Initial thinking something like Bailey and Dalot to Rodrigo and James, leaves 0.5m to upgrade a keeper next week.

Seeing a lot of folks jumping on Rodrigo and Da Silva tonight, a word of caution for snap transfers: play your own game, don’t worry what the masses are doing. Look what happened with Zinchenko this week after on a 1 pointer after so many brought him in.

      Terminators says:

Very true, there is always going to be a lot of rotation now, but the likes of Sancho, Neto and Bailey etc who lots of people went with have been let down, so do you stick with them or go for Rodrigo and DaSilva for example who are in form and performing well.

      • RedKev says:

I’m leaning towards the latter myself terminators! Those initial players were a punt at most anyway so if they don’t perform in some of their better fixtures after a good preseason then may as well jump on those that are performing and keep your TV from dropping imo! Problem is they probably aren’t worth hits and I’ve just pressed the WC button to shift them myself

      • specialK says:

I’m wondering what to do with them myself. good

Bailey to Rodrigo seems like a no brainer as Bailey didn’t even start

I think it’s still early doors and as others have said, the options are limited at that price bracket. Worth a punt to ride the form for a couple of weeks I feel. Leeds fixtures after Chelsea are okay.

Who are the best midfield options at £7m or £8m?

    Foden, Maddison, Kulu?

A lot of people going for Rodrigo but has that ship sailed?
