Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 2

We struggled thru’ GW1 with a heavy heart, in Jeff’s absence. Simon proved himself a worthy successor though, so I reckon we will be ok after all. Albeit that even he looked a little bored in the 1st half with the lack of any action or goals, but we did warn him! Let’s go see if Sky have given him anything more interesting to preside over this week…

GW2 itself begins on Friday once more, this time with a tasty (?!) clash between Forest and Sheffield United. *checks what time Corrie is on

No early game on Saturday so straight to Simon and he’s drawn the short straw again here we are afraid … just the 3 games, those being Fulham v Brentford, Liverpool v Bournemouth and Wolves v Brighton. They really are easing him in aren’t they!

There are, oddly, 2 later games on Saturday this week as Spurs and Man Utd clash at 5.30pm, and then Newcastle fans will love trying to get back from Man City after an 8pm start…

Just the two again on Sunday with Everton going to Villa at 2pm and then West Ham ‘hosting’ Chelsea at 4.30pm.

Palace and Arsenal see us out on Monday at 8pm.

    • I am planning to get rid of him as well but at home vs Forest next week is stopping me.

    • I never understood his appeal. If Manu don’t get penalties he rarely does something except for his 1st season when he became popular

    • All too busy throwing our tv’s out the window when all our players cock up!!

  4. You guys planning to hold your United assets or sell?
    I know it’s very early but what are your thoughts on using my 2FT to do Rashford >> Mitoma and Anderson >> Mbuemo? It would give me one more starter and I’d play 4-5-1

    • Selling rashford until hr moves out to the left

    • Probably getting shot of him here too.
      Happy I’ve got Mbumeo already, but worth noting that two of his goals have been pens. Can’t see that keeping going. And with that stupid style, they’re going to start being saved I think.

    • God I hope Haaland doesn’t punish me for picking Salah as captain this week.

    • This is a disaster GW for me. Replaced Stones with Lewis and now he is bench. Sick and tired with the Pep’s roulette bad

    • Do we see Gordon losing his starting spot to Barnes soon? I think Barnes has done far more with his minutes over these first two games.

      • This is a good debate… I thought Barnes might start today.. Gordon seems to put in the work but just isn’t as silky smooth as Harvey.. Could be a bit of a platoon with the 2 of them for the time being..

        • Newcastle are really frustrating for fantasy this season. Them playing 4-4-2 with Isak and Wilson together would make our lives so much easier.

  6. Thoughts on the following.
    Gabriel > van de Ven
    Pedro > Wissa
    I have £0 ITB and 2FT’s
    My current team

    • Perdo to Wissa sounds good to me. His partnership with Membua? has really been good for the past 2 games. I was even thinking of getting Henry since he is playing up further this season but might hold off until a couple of games.
      I would hold off on Spurs – wait to see who their full backs are gonna be and then get them instead IMO idk if they will keep a lot of clean sheets – united wasted a lot of their chances.

      • Agree with all that. Pedro Pedro or whatever his name is from Spuds looked decent going forward. But then, Royal looked good too last week and he got dropped. So who knows which one to get. VDV looks like he’ll be a threat from set pieces, but agree that the fullbacks will probably do better over the season.

        Really like Henry. Will check their fixtures and if good, I’ll be bringing him in too.

        I’d probably wait on Gabriel until seeing the line up on Monday.

    • My bad – just saw you have 0 ITB — you might have to do the transfer quick because if wissa’s price rises you won’t be able to bring him in. Maybe even entertain the option of getting rid of Jackson or even Rashford if they don’t deliver. Idk might be good to be flexible IMO instead of rushing. Still just GW 2

      • thanks, there isn’t many options for a £4.5m DEF, Utd is a no-no even though they have a good run of games, I don’t want a Brentford DEF because I have Flekken, Spurs are the only real option with good run of games and VdV plays 90mins.

    • I prefer udogie instead of vdv. More attacking

      • Udogie has looked excellent in the last 2 games and looks like he’s playing for fun so +1 from me

        • not to mention that Udogie is the attacking inverted full-back while it looks like on the other side, Porro/Royal will sit more in midfield

    • Jackson should be off at this point
