We hope that GW1 was kind to you, but worry not if it wasn’t, as GW2 is upon us already. This one begins on Saturday lunchtime with Liverpool hosting Burnley and hoping for better than the 0-1 defeat they managed last season. The big change this season is the return of multiple 3pm Saturday games, and what a welcome relief that is. We have FOUR of them this week with matches at Villa, Palace, Leeds and the Etihad. Saturday ends with Brighton welcoming Watford at 5.30pm.
Sunday should be fun as Manchester United go to the Saints who they had much fun with last season, Nuno gets an early return to Wolves and then Thomas Tactics gets to further nail Arteta into his inevitable Arsenal coffin. (Editor: Bit dark that, even for Init!)
We depart GW2 with our first Monday night game of the new season as Leicester go to West Ham, could be a cracker that.

Things I’m not happy about for next week:
Mahrez, ESR, Toney.
Any thoughts on a fix? Currently would also have to play both Liverpool defenders vs Chelsea as White plays vs City and I went for the worst 4m defender pick.

This is true and a return might have me back to square one. Hoping the gunners do a number on Chelsea.
Is the stones not being fit a temporary thing? I fully expected him to start today and thought laporte was now 3rd choice asking for transfer request.
I did read that Laporte is expected to stay which means he will share mins with Stones. Not sure where he was today
Is it time for Tsimikas > Duffy?
Robbo was on the bench so it cannot be long before he takes Tsimikas’s place, maybe after his performances he will be on the bench more and might get a few subs, but it would free up a Liverpool space in teams.
Maybe. Not sure how long Duffy will last though. I don’t think he will be first choice when everyone is fit.
I think his time is up personally and if he gets 1 more game it’s not an easy one! Duffy is who I’m looking at but I’m hoping Tsimikas price goes up again before Duffy’s ….both rising quickly at the moment but only 7% between them so gonna be tight
Hey webstar, I’m currently in the same predicament and looking to lose the same players! I’m currently looking at shifting Mahrez/ESR/Perica to Barnes/Willock/Armstrong but also looking at a WC too to sort out Tsimikas/Amartey too and undecided at mo!
Could do Mahrez to Grealish giving you £1m to upgrade ESR (Benrahma/Willock/Sarr/Raphina etc) but you’d probably encounter the same problems with Grealish as you do with Mahrez tbf! 2 weeks ago that 1m could’ve upgraded Toney to a number of £7.5 options but now I think Wilson the best option.
Think I’m gonna do Mahrez/ESR/Perica to Barnes/Willock/Armstrong myself but keen to know your plans as in such similar position

Cheers for the thoughts – ideal would have been getting DCL in for Toney but we’ve not even seen Kane/Lukaku yet or Son throwing in another performance.
Temptation is the early wild card but if I trigger it now and miss out on the bigger moves will be a real kick in the bum.
Last attempt saw me downgrade mahrez to raphina and upgrade esr to Barnes so guess we’re thinking similar…still doesn’t solve the toney issue but one thing at a time!
Yeah seems we’re on pretty similar pages as my WC plan includes DCL too but it would mean losing Son and benching someone each week! (Previous page post 42.1)
Ive been putting teams together with Lukaku/Kane myself but they seem to downgrade too many other players like Son/ TAA etc that makes me wonder if worth it….especially when Lukaku new club hard fixtures and Kane not knowing where he’ll play or if his heart is in it!?
Like your last suggestion …I’d do that myself if I thought Tsimikas or Amartey would play, only downside for you is White vs City, but still pretty sold!
Any thoughts on what path I should take?
Based on how good Lukaku was last year in Italy, I’m tempted to ship out Mahrez and bring him and and just let it ride – fixtures be damned.
