FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 2

Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 2

We hope that GW1 was kind to you, but worry not if it wasn’t, as GW2 is upon us already. This one begins on Saturday lunchtime with Liverpool hosting Burnley and hoping for better than the 0-1 defeat they managed last season. The big change this season is the return of multiple 3pm Saturday games, and what a welcome relief that is. We have FOUR of them this week with matches at Villa, Palace, Leeds and the Etihad. Saturday ends with Brighton welcoming Watford at 5.30pm.

Sunday should be fun as Manchester United go to the Saints who they had much fun with last season, Nuno gets an early return to Wolves and then Thomas Tactics gets to further nail Arteta into his inevitable Arsenal coffin. (Editor: Bit dark that, even for Init!)

We depart GW2 with our first Monday night game of the new season as Leicester go to West Ham, could be a cracker that.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 2 from all at FF247!

  1. OK, Harry is on the bus to Wolverhampton.
Hopefully many questions will be answered tomorrow for our upcoming WC drafts

    • They won’t be, whether he plays or not means jack shit in the scheme of things.

      • Well, two possible outcomes
He will play reluctantly, which is not him or give it all to encourage City to open their wallet wide.

        • Doesn’t answer any questions though, that was more my point. Wasn’t being contentious.

        • Very true, many people will keep a close eye on the developments.

        • Either way, Levy is having this smug bastard for breakfast.

If he had a proper agent we’d all be picking Kane for our GW3 teams.

        • laugh Levy doesn’t like to spend much but hi knows Sheikh Mansour can offer a lot laugh

        • If you look up smug in the dictionary a picture like that should show up smile

      • It matters a lot. Kanes mindset. If he stays at spurs unhappily he might not be a great option. If he goes to city, he could be a great option once he settles in. If he stays how does it affect son?

        • Going solo with unhappiness doesn’t work, usually is a team boycott when against management. He might do even better in order to boost further his chances for a transfer in January or next summer. As for Son, we know these two were one of the best tandems around.

    • I guess he’d have preferred a bus to the Hamptons instead. Anyway, he signed a contract with Spurs, eyes wide open. Hence, he should do his talking on the pitch and get the job done. He’s, without doubt, a distraction to millions of FPL managers.

  2. 2FT. 0ITB.

Early days. Any good move I can make? Maybe look to get i Son?

    Sanchez
    TAA Shaw Ayling
    Salah Bruno Greenwood Raphinha
    Wilson Ings Antonio

    Steele Amartey Tsimikas Brownhill

    • Son is tough to get I think. Some might come down to whether Salah misses GW4 but I just doubt it.

Wilson might be the one to go. Bench is a bit rough as well with two 4m who are expected to lose their place.

If Utd concede, it might be Shaw, or Wilson on the chopping board with DCL for Wilson looking interesting.

      • Cheers

      • What is this about Salah maybe missing GW4?

        • Lots of things can happen during international break. South America teams have extra games rearranged to 9th & 10th Aug which puts them out of GW4. Then there is the potential of UK quarantine for players returning from Egypt and other redlist countries. And this is fifa arranged matches so unlike the Olympics, clubs can’t refuse players to go.

        • Ah, got ya Otieno. I read something about Benrahma being in a similar position. Think the hammers are going to try and see if they can get special permission from the FA/FIFA about the isolation thing etc so that he doesnt miss games.

    • Greenwood to Son – Wilson to Dennis?
Hard to know much till end of game week (not that we know much then either!)

    • Not much to pick at I think, the defense looks a tad thin with Amartey and Tsimikas likely to return to their respective benches.

For GW4 there’s fixture swings to consider, e.g. one or two of Wilson/Ings to Jimenez/DCL.

      I think I would go for a single transfer this week and a mini-WC in GW4 (2-3FTs)

      • If you’re keen on Son, then two apparent routes could be;
        7.5 Greenwood >> 10.0 Son
        7.5 FWD >> 4.5 Fodder
        4.0 DEF >> 4-5.0 Defender
        (-4pts transfer)

        or

        6.5 Raphinha >> 10.0 Son
        8.0 Ings >> 4.5 Fodder
(Brownhill or a 4.0 Def will need to play)

Of course plenty other ways of going about it.

    • Shane Duffy for Tsimikas? I don’t see tsim starting much when robbo is back

  3. I haven’t watched either of his games, but does Toney look like scoring? Any close misses?

    • Missed an easy chance yesterday and had 5 shots in the box but he’s not looked great

    • I am giving him 1 more chance at 6.5.

    • I didn’t see yesterday’s game but he looked a class act vs Arsenal. You don’t score that many goals at any level if you haven’t ‘got it’. Could be a case of floodgates once he gets one. I’d keep, well I am anyway.

      • I think he will score goals I’m just not sure Brentford will score enough

  4. Should I sell or Keep Toney?

  5. Saints:

    United:

    Wolves:

    Spurs:

  6. Thanks for these Mito.

    Varane ok
