Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 23

Another gameweek on top of the previous one. This one gets us going with a lunch-time battle of the only two teams that start with the letter A when Aston Villa face off vs Arsenal and that of course is followed by a meeting of the only two teams that start with the letter B in Burnley vs Brighton. Along with that game we have Toon taking on Saints so our alphabet game is already ruined. Fulham and Hammers gets the 5:30 spot and the day is brought to a close by what should be an entertaining affair when United play host to Everton.

Sunday brings us four more fixtures. The early game sees Spurs throttle West Brom, that is followed by a battle of Wolves vs Foxes. The third game of the day is a title decider-ish? Probably not, but it should still be a good one when Liverpool and City renew acquaintances. The day is finished off with Sheffield Utd taking on Chelsea.

The gameweek is brought to an end by the ever entertaining Leeds when they play host to Crystal Palace.

  1. Here’s my team going into GW24…

    Would really appreciate some advice:

    Should I stick with Martinez in goal, or play Areola with his double?

    • If you have bench boost I’d consider replacing Maddison and doing that. If not yeah I’d play Areola I think

      • No Bench Boost – played it in the last DGW.

        I’m considering Maddison to Grealish but might hold the transfer and bring in a Leeds mid in GW25

    • I’d play the Fulham goalie. Another bite at the cherry.

    Kicking myself for benching DCL over soucek but it is what it is.

    What’s everyone’s plan for GW24?

    This is my current team – thinking of using my 2FTs and bringing in Digne for Dallas and Pope for Martinez.

    Thoughts?

    • Why not Mitchell to Lowton instead of keeper move

      • Who would you bench?

        • There is that. Son. The keeper move seems pointless though you have Areola who has a double.

    • Good to be philosophical but DCL could spring like the saviour from a bench or two yet. Maybe a couple of players will miss games today due to snowball injuries.

      Are you planning to wildcard straight after?

      In terms of my plans, just a modest Digne move plus one more defender from Burnley or a Fulham or Everton midfielder.

      Maybe Fulham will be the DGWs unlikely heroes.

      • Yes I have seen your situation K. Unfortunate but we’ve got to make some tough decisions – maybe one of your midst will call in ill today, projecting DCL into the squad??? smile .

    • Digne for Dallas, don’t like this. You will want Dallas for DGW 25.

    • A Bamford hat-trick, with any luck. I hope it happens. That was a ballsy captain choice. You can then test your powers of tact and restraint and neglect to mention it as you sky rocket up the rankings.

      What a marvellous cut price forward line that is.

      Nice thing about this year is that team value is almost irrelevant.

        I’ve had 2s and 4s in 9 of my last 10 captains. I really have little to lose.

        I agree with you in the point about value though – there’s so much cash sloshing around and so many mid-priced options, that although I am having my worst ever time, I enjoy that there isn’t a real template.

    • Don’t tempt fate, GP!! I also capt’d Bamford…I can see Leeds scoring a few against a rather depleted Palace. Fingers crossed

  5. Going to hold the FT, BB in DGW24, then use the 2FT to get Ings in for his DGW25. Wish me luck.
