Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 23
Another gameweek on top of the previous one. This one gets us going with a lunch-time battle of the only two teams that start with the letter A when Aston Villa face off vs Arsenal and that of course is followed by a meeting of the only two teams that start with the letter B in Burnley vs Brighton. Along with that game we have Toon taking on Saints so our alphabet game is already ruined. Fulham and Hammers gets the 5:30 spot and the day is brought to a close by what should be an entertaining affair when United play host to Everton.
Sunday brings us four more fixtures. The early game sees Spurs throttle West Brom, that is followed by a battle of Wolves vs Foxes. The third game of the day is a title decider-ish? Probably not, but it should still be a good one when Liverpool and City renew acquaintances. The day is finished off with Sheffield Utd taking on Chelsea.
The gameweek is brought to an end by the ever entertaining Leeds when they play host to Crystal Palace.

I really wish they’d get rid of VAR it’s only made the game less enjoyable and there are far too many borderline and wrong decisions.

Agree, I mean Robin was great a few years back in the Danish league. But then he went to Italy and tbh I’m more than surprised to see him rockin’ it in the EPL! Good for him though ofc
He more or less won the game for us at Leeds and has in general been very good. Boring, but good. Or at least solid and dependable.
Not sure if I agree on needing a keeper GP, we have a very good one in Pickford, he just needs fixing back up a bit.
Unfortunately it’s complex as he needs some confidence to be simultaneously knocked in and out of him in different parts!
If we had weak management then I’d fear for him but with Carlo and Dunc I think he’ll be ok long term.
Most times I see him – and it could just be me – but I feel that he’s just a bit excitable/jumpy at times. Like I can’t really remember enough games when he does his business quietly and you think ‘he didn’t have a rick there’.
I know they love to use him because of his playing out from the back as Southgate does too but I can’t say his game nature particularly calms me.
He may never change or he might – maybe he doesn’t have to and like I say, it’s me – but if Carlo backs him beyond this season then that’s that.
Benched DCL and played Soucek for the first time and the result is devastating. Damn !
Unbelievable, when he had 15 and 9 points he was sitting on my bench. Now when I played him he got redcarded and DCL got the points on the bench. It’s freak show :no:

I had a look at my side earlier and provisionally have the captaincy on him for 24. DCL, I hasten to add. No doubt will move it to a City player.
I badly wanted ManU to lose this one I mist admit, also I don’t think their defensive record has been too promising. In shot, DCL stayed in to give some hopes of a good LFC performance :wink2:

Your side is remarkably thin on City players, I must say, talking of nerves of steel. Are you going to correct that prior to the looming DGW?
Yes rolled transfer this week to give some room for planning. I hate rotation concern with city, but is been costly to ignore them unfortunately. Also please excuse my fat fingers…

My thinking so far for next week = Digne and one other, no idea who yet and cup games (and the rest of this GW) to hopefully avoid carnage.
Agree Digne looks interesting, their defense is just not very appealing. I think I’d want three city, DCL + maybe Digne, and one or two Burnley boys.
I’ll probably have to settle for less.

As a Man U fan, with DCL first on my bench, that’s kinda taken the shine off my Saturday :big-lol:
I really need someone to pick captain for my team. I have had 9 blanks in the last 11 GWs for captains. Don’t think there’s any use of planning if I get my captain wrong so many freaking times.

Unlucky – he was a decent pick; in form and against Fulham.
Currently on 31 points with 6 to go. So I think should be a little above average.
Many of us experience this issue on a weekly basis, KP. Read the advice on the boards, get a feel for the ‘right’ player to captain and then hope for the best. That’s all we can do

Good call on captaincy and getting DCL. I had a toss up between DCL and Antonio when Kane got injured. I went with Antonio in the end.
