Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 23

Another gameweek on top of the previous one. This one gets us going with a lunch-time battle of the only two teams that start with the letter A when Aston Villa face off vs Arsenal and that of course is followed by a meeting of the only two teams that start with the letter B in Burnley vs Brighton. Along with that game we have Toon taking on Saints so our alphabet game is already ruined. Fulham and Hammers gets the 5:30 spot and the day is brought to a close by what should be an entertaining affair when United play host to Everton.

Sunday brings us four more fixtures. The early game sees Spurs throttle West Brom, that is followed by a battle of Wolves vs Foxes. The third game of the day is a title decider-ish? Probably not, but it should still be a good one when Liverpool and City renew acquaintances. The day is finished off with Sheffield Utd taking on Chelsea.

The gameweek is brought to an end by the ever entertaining Leeds when they play host to Crystal Palace.

The games in full…

Feel I have got some luck with DCL there. Makes a nice change this season smile

Anyone thinking of getting JRod for the double?

I could link him up with DCL for Bissouma out.

MCI coverage for the DGW24: I have Cancelo and Gündogan. Is it worth the triple up? Their fixtures look tricky-ish and then they’ve got the CL to concentrate on.

Yes definitely. I wouldn’t call those games tricky for them. I know there’s rotation (and we could see injuries tomorrow, who knows) but it seems almost an act of self-harm not to have three.

So Antonio has SHU next but some hard fixtures after. Is him to DCL a viable consideration?

For this double game week for some teams would you bring in Sterling for Son?

Hi guys & gals – at a loss of what to do, as I’ve suffered the classic Soucek v Bamford (+ Salah v Fernandes captain choices) on the wrong alternate weeks syndrome, and my recent rise in rankings has become a fall (it also thrown me mentally into ‘hyperspace’)
Honestly don’t know what’s best for my team now.

Had planned to get in a Burnley DEF + Digne for 24, then Raphinha for 25, as well as reintegrating Kane into the fold, and somehow Shaw for coming weeks. Now I’m thinking about just Shaw, Raph and Harry (when he’s ready), and basta! I have 5.3 ITB (my ‘Kane-Kash’) and I don’t want to be caught short at the wrong moment (probably related to some ‘pottie-training’ issue when I was younger! smile ).
Team is linked but here is a current team (obviously I was one of the thousands of people who completed their Martinez>Pope move a week too early!):

Thanks if you have any advice – if not, then I fully understand. This week has helped me to overcome my growing obsession with doing well in the game, as I had a moment of clarity last night when thinking about Antonio captaincy move, in that so much worry about such an insignificant detail is mind-blowingly out of proportion! Get a life AJW! smile

Original plan sounds good to me. I have Digne and I would not want him for much longer so depends if you have wildcard. Long term I’d prefer Shaw to Digne if that makes sense

Nothing wrong with planning but bad luck with the Pope move.

You’re right not to take the game too seriously. As I’ve mentioned before, I highly recommend not getting too caught up in live game action in relation to your own side.

In terms of advice for GW24 it would be handy to know if you plan to wildcard straight after (to prepare for the DGW 26). If so then you can play pretty fast and loose going into 24; if not you may have to tread a little more carefully. As I have a trio of City players I’m looking at Digne and either a punt on JRod / Lookman or just getting another Burnley defender.

      • AJW says:

Thank you both immensely boys. Reassuring advice – plan to wait and see before wild-carding. Would in all honesty, love to hold for as long as possible, but time shall tell. Maybe bring in Lookman for GW24 before bringing in Raph (in the case of abbreviation of his name, can one allow oneself too pronounce ‘Rafe’ in his place for 25.

        • AJW says:

Sh***- message sent before completion! I meant ‘ pronounce like the old school style’ Rafe’- à la Larry Olivier !
Anyway lads, thanks for your considerations and speak to you soon! smile.

        • AJW says:

AND forgot to close brackets! smile
