Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 26

Now this is what you call a DGW. 14 games no less spanning from Saturday lunchtime to Thursday evening with 8 teams playing twice.

Saturday itself is chocker and for once Soccer Saturday will be worth turning on with 6 games for Jeff to get his teeth into. It is bookended with West Ham & Newcastle at 12.30pm and Man City vs Spurs at 5.30pm.

We then have just a couple on Sunday with Leeds vs Man Utd at 2pm and Wolves welcoming Leicester at 4.30pm.

The DGW action gets underway on Wednesday with 3 games and then we conclude on Thursday with Wolves going to Arsenal.

  1. How is this for a first draft FH?
    Not activated yet though. Just tinkering.

  2. Question…why so many people with wild card drafts?

    • To navigate 27, 28, 29 and 30 I think. I looked at it, couldn’t find a balance I liked, so scrapped the idea.

      • I quite liked it but meant I could not TC Salah. I came to the conclusion I could wait till GW28 as did not need the Wolves players this week just Arsenal. That late goal flakey Brentford goal still really stings

        • Game week 30 might be good for free hit especially with 3/5 fixtures

        • Yeah, that goal was a kick in the nuts for sure

  3. Most likely we’ll fall in the DGW trap and captain Weghorst while Bruno can easily outscore him at home vs Watford.

    • I usually captain a double GW player but might not in this case. Bruno/Son/Kane all premiums with nice fixtures. Burnley don’t tend to score many usually with the exception of this week. Not fixtures you would expect Burnley to win

    • Is Kane a decent option against Leeds?, Weghorst is the other option if fit

    • For me it’s between Pope, Weghorst and Kane/Son.

  4. Do I need to FH with this team for gw27. Still got 2 free hits

    • You don’t need to. May be weigh up if you think you would gain more from a FH in 27, 28 or 29 for instance. It could be more powerful on a double?

      • Gameweek 30 only a few fixtures free hit there

        • i dont know if I am missing something, but people keep mentioning about gw30 missing fixtures – looks like a full set of games to me when i look at it.

      • Only 3 confirmed fixtures in gw30.
        But if u have arsenal astonvilla and wolves players u could navigate without a free hit.
        Southampton game could also be on if west ham defeat them in fa cup.
        For other fixtures to take place need some upsets in fa cup.

        • Yeah I’m not sure about FH30 now. Teams that play in it double before so could find yourselves well stocked on players for that GW now

        • suppose we need the next round of FA cup games to see what gw30 will actually be like.

        • Free hit gameweek 27 no point when you have 11 players already

        • Completely disagree. It’s not about the volume of players. You could have eleven but could be the wrong 11. I mean Watford players away at United for example

        • I fancy Watford to score at United though, what you going to do in game week 30 when you have 4/5 players?

        • Aaron13 – i only have 9 playing, no bench – 1FT, 0m ITB. Still have 2xFH. The team I have left could make do, but to get a full team would mean losing a mix of either Salah/Mane/TAA for 1 week (i would want them back for the dgw29), Rudiger (who has a decent run of fixtures), or ditch Martinelli (who has dgw29)

          When I look at that, dont know if FH’ing in gw27 is a good idea..lol

        • I’m not going to I’m saving my mine for gameweek 30, I’ll make do without Taa and Salah for 1 gameweek

        • how many do you have left though, thats the thing?

        • Was just an example but Roy will set up to defend not attack. It’s away from joke. You say go without Salah and TAA but they also take up a lot of cash. you will have at least 6 by GW30 anyway I’d guess. Arsenal players this week, Wolves players have a great double before, Raph, so you could argue you are using a FH for a few Villa/Leicester players to make it up to eleven players. Dont think you have looked at it properly. Also depends how many free hits someone has left. I have two and a WC for example

  5. On a WC would you have Salah (benched this week) or KDB (+1.1m ITB) and plan to switch to Salah after GW28 ready for the double.

    • If you got a bench that could handle a injury i your team i’d get kdb and then bring in salah. But it’s always risky to have your ft’s tied up in advance….

  6. Any suggestions here? It’s not really playable, not really fh-worthy… Got 1ft and 1,0 itb… Got all chips and wc left except TC….

    • I’d play that team, hit out Jota and White

    • Think I’d FH if you have most of your chips. See enough upside. Though depends how many chips you have

      • Would you free hit with 1 left?

        • Aarron, if you have only 1 FH left, like me, definitely keep it for GW 30. It will be a ridiculously small round with possibly 4 or 5 max fixtures,

        • This is what I’m going to do, even if I I have to take a minus 4 this gameweek coming that’s exactly what I’ll do
