Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 3

Another gameweek in the books and another on the cards. As Gameweek 3 starts we are sitting here dreaming of how we are going to fit a certain Portuguese superstar into our teams. Still, let us leave that struggle for another day and turn our attention to the task at hand, which is scoring well this week. The gameweek gets started with City laying waste to Arsenal in the early game. That is followed by five 3pm kick-offs. Villa take on Brentford, Brighton play host to Everton, Toon welcome in Southampton, Norwich battle it out with Leicester and hopefully The Hammers take apart Palace. The day is not done yet though, as the Premier League have left their best game for last when Liverpool play host to Chelsea as both teams will be looking to send an early message to one another.

Sunday brings us the remaining three fixtures. There are two games scheduled for a 2pm start. Burnley tangle with Leeds and Kane pretends he is happy to be at Spurs when they play Watford. The gameweek is brought to a close with Traore trying to finally put away a chance, this time against Manchester United and (the soon to be defunct) ‘Pen’andes.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 3 from all at FF247!

  1. Morning

    Anyone activated there WC yet?

    • Nah fairly sure I won’t. Had a decent start and don’t have enough problem players. Also seems a bit early. Season has not settled and some players have only just gained fitness or signed. On top of this players generally have still have decent fixtures as it’s not been long enough

      • Morning smash,

You have had a great start to the season! Well done!

I was thinking about it but I’m not so sure now!

My Team seems to be ticking over nicely – I just need to make a few tweaks

        • Yeah I look at mine and I have Ings and Mahrez to replace

        • Who you thinking for Ings?

        • I’m not really sure what I’m doing at this stage. Will see how transfer window goes and international break, ESR and Lukaku is a possibility. If Firmino is injured Jota comes into play. DCL is looking decent. Some guy called Ronaldo coming in so need to see his price

        • For Ings I’m looking at Lukaku (after the City game). However the question is whether or not to hold on to Ings until then – or move him on. DCL seems a decent shortish-term swap – fixtures and form wise – to keep things ticking along until the fixture shift for Chelsea.

        • Think I’ve been lucky with Ings points I have. Fixtures look tough now and Villa have struggled a bit so think I need to move him on

    • Not yet.

  2. Anyone else been impressed with Jesus?

He’s look decent over the past 2 games

    • Hi Mitro, I am impressed, at least a short term candidate to replace Ings/Toney. Also a bit confused, as he’s is playing better on the right flank. Also impressed with Pep, same startin 11 two times a row. Maybe 5-0 means the guys played ok enough…

    • Yes. He is looking very confident and comfortable in this system.

  3. How did Big Rom look like against Chelsea? Watching the highlights and looks like he was piss poor.

    James’ red was very unfair.

    • I’d like to think he plays with the Chelsea team, or at least I hope so for their sake wink

    • Red card by the rules B

Lukaku was fine. Definitely no problems there.

    • Lukaku can only perform if he is supplied the ball. Tough against Liverpool away and with a man down for a half. When he was involved he looked good.. He is a no 9 who can also be a playmaker, once he gets proper service the goals will flow is what i feel.

    • I thought he looked pretty good. I’m convinced he will score a lot of goals. Ten men at Anfield was always going to be tough

      • Looked really dangerous in first half. Second half isolated up top against both VVD and Matip always going to be a struggle. As for least touches of the ball which is posted on previous page what do you expect with 10 men away at Anfield that would be the same for any forward

      • Do you think he is worth 11.5? Can you see him getting 230+ points this season?

        • Possibly but may have to be tactical about when to bring him in e.g. check out Chelsea’s fixtures after the City game.

        • Yeah I see him being there or abouts for the highest scorer in the game. Might have to wait for the fixtures to ease a bit first or from now really

      • Agreed.

A vague plan I have is Bruno to Son / maybe Jota / another Man U midfielder and Ings / Ings’ replacement to Lukaku after the City game.

Given the changing context at Man U – e.g. Bruno possibly off penalties – then you’d think Lukaku with those fixtures will equal / surpass Bruno’s potential points’ tally (over the nice fixtures).

    • Thanks guys. This helps.

  4. Good morning all. I think its too early to WC….don’t press panic WC button even if you did not start well. Next 3-4 fixtures are not great anyway as big teams will be facing each other. Also, we need to see how KDB return affects city, Ronnie fitment policy by Ole, Kane’s return and impact on Son……Lukaku with different combinations of Hav/Warn/Pulisic etc.
Veltman is back, White will be back, Tsimi to Livra/Williams is not a priority move anyway….I just do not see any compelling moves for a WC. Forget about losing 0.3-0,4m TV. You can probably with a -8 over 2 weeks have a mini-WC. Also, its international break and some injuries/covid cases can creep in. So hold tight, keep your patience till next 7-8 days and then decide on Gw4 transfers. If you have 2 FTs, you can risk 1 ofcourse with early transfer.

    • Very nicely put GM good
It would have been fantastic if everyone had a free wildcard like in the Bundes game.
The one which nobody can catch you wink

    • Yes far too early to wc unless someone made some left of field picks at the beginning, there are a lot of questions like you have outlined which will be clearer in a few weeks

    • I hear this, but ended activating last night. I want to move from two premiums to three and get on Ronnie straight away. I’m normally very conservative with chip use, but I’m going to attack this first part of the season. Get on the price rises over the IB hopefully and come out of it with Rom, Ron, Salah and if at all possible, Trent! It’s hard to lose Bruno, but I think Ron is going to be eating into his points haul

      • How’s that WC lookin’ then Gear? smile

        • It’s looking difficult to be honest!

Kane is a place holder for Ron

        • Gear, he might stay after a brace today wink

        • Ivan, Bruno has been a constant in my team since he signed, the man is a points machine. Do you think he’ll produce numbers worth 12m moving forward?

        • That looks surprisingly good actually smile good luck good

        • Gear, I do. No matter what impact CR7 has, Bruno will be still the Man U core. Never mind all those talks that he relies on PK, already with 3 goals and none of them were involved. I personally will try everything possible for him to stay in my team, regardless what other players enter or exit with the WC.

        • I think if he was 10m I would chance it, but 12m just seems such a push. It’s a tough one though

        • Well, we might be in for a surprise.
There is possibility of a new Portuguese brotherhood like tandem, similar to what we’ve seen last season with Kane&Son.

      • Good for you and good luck with the wildcard endeavours.

    • I have activated my WC as well.

      • Good for you too and good luck. Keep us posted with its gradual evolution. I imagine you’re just targeting price rises at the moment? International breaks aren’t what they used to be in terms of improving TV but hopefully you’ll cash in somewhere.

  5. Burnley:

    Leeds:

    Spurs:

    Watford:

  6. This game will become a nightmare when KDB is back.

Its looking like Ronaldo and Lukaku will eventually become essential. Salah is obviously a must have. He does have 20+ goals in him in a season.

Add in KDB who plays for City that is very reliable with attacking returns. And dont even get me started on Kane and how he is always competing for Golden Boot.

    In short. Feck it.
