FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 38
Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 38
Well time to go then ….
We have reached the end and we’ve reached it together. Before we look at the fixtures and what matters and where the chips are most likely to fall in your favour, the FF247 committee would like to thank you guys. Each and every one of you for your contributions on site all season, for helping each other out and all the while being friendly and courteous. This is what it is all about. And as a token of our appreciation, we would like to mention Pokermatch Casino, a fantastic platform for all your casino gaming needs.
As my old man used to say, ‘don’t laugh at others if you can’t laugh at yourself’.
And we don’t half give ourselves plenty of material playing this FPL game!
The state of play
Manchester City have won it, Arsenal are second and the Uniteds – Manchester and Newcastle – battle out for third place and a few extra million. Liverpool and Brighton (superb) are the next two and can’t move up or down now. Aston Villa (home to Brighton), Tottenham Hotpsur (away to Leeds – more on them soon) and Brentford (home to Manchester City) vie for the final European spot – a place in the Europa Conference League Qualifiers. Aston Villa hold the aces – win, and it is theirs.
From Fulham in 10th to Forest in 17th is tumbleweed land.
Everton can ensure their own survival, and condemn Leeds and Leicester to The Championship, with a home win over Bournemouth. Should they stumble, they can be caught but it is straightforward for Leeds and Leicester (home to West Ham) – win to have any chance!
Southampton are gone but round off with a home match against Liverpool.
So ….
Best of luck whether you’re chasing a mini-league, catching a mate, going for a personal best or you’re just looking for a laugh in the last week.
Enjoy the next few (MANIC) hours.

Thanks to everyone on the site, including you organizers and writers and readers and contributors. I sort of tuned out a month or so ago, after looking okay for a while (was aiming at top 50k), but last 3 gameweeks saw me going in reverse! That’s life!
Love the comments and friendliness here with you all. It’s so nice – AND the advice is reliable too! Cheers one and all! 😉
Thank you to the whole of the FF247 community for this season it has been amazing.
The help and support you have given us all has been brilliant.
And the support you have given the Hammerfan over the last few month has been greatly appreciated. It has been tough I can tell you – and still is. It will get better I know. Time is a healer. (although this weekend is the great ones birthday – definitely going to be tough. But I will be having a couple celebrating for him with my family.
Then next Tuesday supporting the Hammers, hoping we can bring hope silverware to the LS.
Once again, thanks again to the site admin for all their hard work – we couldnt have done it without you, and everyone else for chipping in.
See you next season guys and gals
Take care of yourself mate. This weekend is the second anniversary of my mum dying, so I will be having a tough one like you Fingers crossed for West Ham next week
Cheers Chipster – hope all goes well at the weekend for you too
COYI!!
Good morning everyone,
Just wanted to say thank you to you all for the past season which once again proved to me why this is the best and most personal place to come for your FPL advice.
From the writers to the commenters, you all carry yourselves with such respect, empathy and humour (and self-depreciating – the best kind!), that you make this such a fun place to be part of.
I hope you all enjoy a lovely break from FPL and have a great summer and we’ll see you back here for the fixture release – IN TWO WEEKS TIME! *(joke)*
Ending on a serious note, if you are struggling with FPL and how it is affecting you and you need help, ask for it. It will be the best thing you ever do.

Hi all,
Thank you to Initt, Kop, Cookie and all plus the writers of the FF247 team for providing this amazing community with insight and inspiration. And a huge thank you for all the posters.
The the Doubles League was a huge amount of fun. Brooky and me used our doubles team to take loads of punts and alternate captaincies. Some came off such as Bruno (c) in GW37 and Kane (c) in GW38. Some didn’t.
It would be great to see more managers joining in next season. I will post the login code preseason.
All you need is a manager to pair up with and the fun begins. We will try to find you a manager where possible next season. Then you discuss transfers captaincy etc. I have learned a lot from Brooky this season and playing doubles FPL has helped my regular team.
Here are the final doubles league positions
Carolyn deserves a consolation prize there, I must’ve dragged her down here judging from my season
Thanks to all contributors and participants for another seson. It goes without saying that FF247 remains the best site around.
**Don’t forget the UCL Final on Saturday and get your teams ready**
It’s the FA Cup this weekend Ivan, UCL final the weekend after, June 10th!
Padster, it is next week Saturday the 10th, my bad, running a bit fast
Ivan, we need an FA cup fantasy too! I’ll put you in charge to find a solution for that one
Dane, that would be too much. For now, fantasy UCL and Bundesliga is enough
If you like Bundesliga have a look at the MLS fantasy. Wild card every week, regular BGWs and DGWs. You can even do transfers out during the GW so a sub will definitely come on. As long as the games are on at a reasonable time. Big rises and drops in prices after the GW is played and updated on Monday afternoon.
WC every week killed it. Used to love it before that. Who’s got time to do a WC every week for players they barely know! Mito and I (mainly Mito!) did manage to come 2nd overall once though. Plus I somehow ended up on a fantasy podcast (MLS Boss) about it! Alongside Mr Guy Sanchez of this parish. It’s still on iTunes somewhere I believe.
I really liked the MLS format, even the weekly WC was fine with me, because it was quick and easy to change things and take a punt, knowing that any mistakes could easily be rectified the following week. So I found myself spending far less time on my weekly transfers for MLS than I did pondering my 1 FT for FPL
But in the end, it was the time difference that killed it off for me. To play it properly, you need to actively manage your team ahead of every kick-off, and with some of the west coast fixtures that could be 3am UK time, if I recall. I played for two or three seasons, but gave it up a few years back.
Kruz, don’t know if you remember but I and my editor Chipster used to do MLS on here about 5 years ago.
The time difference became too much to handle and eventually the enthusiasm faded away….

Ha, this is a nice blast from the past. I have many happy memories working on these MLS articles with you, Ivan. We were a good team
Chipster, maybe we should restart next year, now Messi moving to Inter Miami
