Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 5

The first midweek gameweek of the season and our matches are spread across three nights with a 6pm deadline on Tuesday (if you’re only just finding this out here, you’ve probably already missed it!).

Two matches kick off at 7.30pm with Fulham hosting Brighton at the Cottage and a London Derby between Crystal Palace and Brentford.

Chelsea go to Southampton for a 7.45pm kick off and then fifteen minutes later Leeds welcome Everton – where Frank Lampard is sure to get a raucous welcome after ‘Spygate’, which is rarely often forgotten.

Wednesday brings us five games across the same kick off pattern as Tuesday where we find Arsenal playing Aston Villa, Wolves heading to Bournemouth, City sharpening the bayonettes to cut through the Forest whilst West Ham host Spurs in our second London clash of the week. Lastly, ‘4-3’ memories evoked as Liverpool take on Newcastle at Anfield.

Thursday’s solitary fixture is now-revitalised Manchester United looking to put three wins together at Leicester.

    2 FT and 1.1 ITB
Thinking to scrap TAA for Patterson and upgrade Archer to Darwin, going back to 3-4-3.
Everton are not the greatest at the moment but somehow have found a goal in the last 4 games and pool have only 1 CS in 5.
    Good or bad idea??

So sports fans – hope you’re all having a good GW. Having a decent one with this lot (see enclosed!). I’ve just gone for my first week of not using my 2FT, and just wondering whether there was anything I could do to improve the team?

At some stage I will obviously trade out KDB>Salah (I’ve projected in a couple of GWs’ time, if KDB doesn’t go ballistic),

    but also been considering a:
Jesus>Nunez (who I sold after his red card, for Mitro),
+ Diaz>Sinisterra (to finance the 2 abovementioned moves)

This would seem to keep me ahead of the ‘curve’….But maybe I should leave well enough alone??? However, that would mean burning a trade 2 GWs in a row!

Anyway, thanks for reading thus far!

    Cheerio! 😉

Thanks Smasher, but d’ya reckon I should tinker with it in the above manner? I’m definitely keeping KDB for this weekend, as Haaland will probs be benched or rested, but getting in Nunez for Jesus sort of pleases me, but could turn out to be taking a risk just for the sake of it.
Maybe I can just use one of the transfers to get in Hendo, in the place of Sanchez (seeing Forest’s upcoming fixtures and Hendo’s good form!). Otherwise I could go for weeks without trading I think.
        I dunno!

This team could see you to the WC i don’t see the need to the above transfers tbh dont tempt fate with Jesus>Nunez it could be good but watching Jesus play he’s involved in everything.

Agreed. So many teams are template, or near template, that the point spread in the upper reaches is quite limited. The real competition probably begins in gw8/gw9, with a big round of WCs.
I’m starting to compile my list now. smile

Okay guys – but quite embarrassingly I have to admit that this was the result of a WC a couple of GWs ago. Since then, I’ve been sliding along (from 4.7 to 3.8m and then 1.7m. Currently slipping inside the 1m ranks this week (after tonight’s match and my Pereira for James substitution!). So really looking forward to capitalizing on my team. Really don’t wanna touch anything – so maybe as I said, Sanchez to Hendo , and KDB back to Salah in a few GWs, pending performances.
Cheers and thanks for the comments! 😉

Ditched Rodrigo and brought in Mitrovic. Bench Cucu or someone else?

1FT 0mib – Ramsdale to Pope (or Henderson?) OR Cucurella to Trippier?

Glad I didn’t make the KdB to Sterling move now Aubameyang is at Chelsea.
