FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 5
Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 5
The first midweek gameweek of the season and our matches are spread across three nights with a 6pm deadline on Tuesday (if you’re only just finding this out here, you’ve probably already missed it!).
Two matches kick off at 7.30pm with Fulham hosting Brighton at the Cottage and a London Derby between Crystal Palace and Brentford.
Chelsea go to Southampton for a 7.45pm kick off and then fifteen minutes later Leeds welcome Everton – where Frank Lampard is sure to get a raucous welcome after ‘Spygate’, which is rarely often forgotten.
Wednesday brings us five games across the same kick off pattern as Tuesday where we find Arsenal playing Aston Villa, Wolves heading to Bournemouth, City sharpening the bayonettes to cut through the Forest whilst West Ham host Spurs in our second London clash of the week. Lastly, ‘4-3’ memories evoked as Liverpool take on Newcastle at Anfield.
Thursday’s solitary fixture is now-revitalised Manchester United looking to put three wins together at Leicester.

2 FTs but not really sure what to do with them. Maybe Dasilva to MacAllister (BRI)?
Any ideas, fellow Friday nighters?
Stone Frog
Perisic and Dasilva to Trippier and Gross?
Special Agent Dale Cooper
Nice suggestion Stone frog. Like those moves.
Botman and Robben
Nice shout SF.
Loud Atlas
And that’s bang-on the budget too! Thanks!
OddDane
SF thinking out of the box again
Gavy
I think ward is looking like a fish out of water at the moment and if ramsdale is set to mis a match, maybe you could look at Henderson or Sánchez?
Loud Atlas
I’d quite like Pope, but I don’t like using FTs on GKs. The keeper situation isn’t ideal this week, but hopefully Ramsdale’s ok (insert that praying emoji we had a while ago here) .
Gavy
I really like pope too, I just don’t like a 5m keeper sitting on the beach most weeks.
Aarron13
Best Captain choice tomorrow
Haaland or Salah?
Loud Atlas
Haaland for me! Salah will be VC.
Aarron13
Currently on that myself,
Is Haaland going to start?
inittowinit
Haaland here, Kane vice.
My theory on this and him is that if he doesn’t start we don’t see him, unless of course they need goals in which case you wouldn’t actually be that disappointed to see him appear at HT as he’ll probably get them.
As for the CL I reckon Pep may play this like he used to with Kun and Jesus in that Alvarez will actually get most of the qualifiers (barring probably Dortmund away for sentimental reasons).
Just a theory but we’ll see.
Gavy
He gave was taken off at the 70 minute make, so I am hoping he starts. Might be subbed 50 60 minutes in, but that’s really all he needs
Special Agent Dale Cooper
I would like to think that he would not come on if they are easily up in the game but i have noticed Pep make some strange decisions in this regard before, even in the last game actually. He brought on KDB for the last 20 give or take when the game was all over by far. Left me scratching my head did that one. If you want to rest him why not just give him the game off? But saying that, 20 or so mins is enough time for a hattie for Erling anyway i guess.
Aarron13
You are right about Haaland did come off with 25 minutes left in the Forest match, it’s swaying me towards Haaland with Salah vice
OddDane
Hmm…

Evening all. 2 FT but 0 ITB. Not sure if there is anything I can do here. Would want to keep Diaz for Everton this week.
All ideas very welcome!
Gavy
Bailey to Dasilva? 3 in the next 4 look OK for him
OddDane
Keep Diaz vs Eve imo.
Think I’d consider Pope or Sanchez in goal for Ederson to free up a bit funds for next round.
