Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 17.

The New Year is here, but don’t worry GW17 is bound to disappoint you in the same ways the previous 16 gameweeks did in 2020. Everton and West Ham get it rolling with the early Friday game and Manchester United hosts Villa in the second and last game of the day.

Saturday brings us four more fixtures. Spurs welcome in Leeds, Palace gets 3 easy points vs Sheffield, Brighton tangles with Wolves and in the last game we see Championship contenders West Brom play Arsenal.

Sunday gives us three more matchups. Burnley play Fulham, Toon take on Leicester and then Chelsea duke it out with City.

Monday sees the last remaining fixture when Saints take on Liverpool.

    • Or maybe you have it right. Either way it’s a decent score with Soucek to come off the bench too

      • Yes that was rather lucky. Still though, this will be a very high scoring week I suspect and if Salah doesn’t deliver I’m probably not in the green smile

    • Salah does well against Soton. Could be up for a 20 pointer like he had in GW 1.

          I do have Mo in my team but captained Bruno (as most weeks) and I am pretty happy with those 20 points from him.
          Having a marvelous GW myself, so let’s hope we keep it up in 2021! :drinks:

    • Salah’s not played yet so I wouldn’t fret too much – unless I’m responding to one of the posts of yours that I actually rewrote (I’ve got back to 2018/19, boy it’s been hard work).

        After then let’s see about whether you can also retrospectively adjust the points… And, let’s hope I don’t need to add Salah to the list after tomorrow’s game :scratch_one-s_head:

  4. Should I FH this team or just use the free transfer to get another BGW player probably Martinez? I can take hits if necessary too. Have 0.5 in the bank and 1 FT. Suggestions?

    • Keep Mendy for the double. Shunt Taylor to anyone with a BGW and DGW who is affordable. Maybe Shaw From Utd?

    • I’d FH that as you only have 6 players and one of them is Bissouma so that’s basically 5 players and 2 points.

      • I believe Bissouma picked up a yellow card today and is suspended for the next game.

      • I’ve never understood the concept of a B team. I assume whichever team is doing the best is your A team :wink2:

        • Banjo, a B team is like some extra fun on the side.
          Funny enough, I spend all week pondering on the main one and never more than 10 minutes on the B.
          It shows that sometimes careless moves are better.

        • It’s part of the myth of Ivan – it’s what makes him the fantasy legend he is.

          As we all know, he spends about 10 seconds each week on a second team that magically always out-performs his main team. It happens every week in every season. It will keep on happening, for ever. It’s a gift that keeps giving and a story none of us ever tire of hearing of.
