Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 17.

The New Year is here, but don’t worry GW17 is bound to disappoint you in the same ways the previous 16 gameweeks did in 2020. Everton and West Ham get it rolling with the early Friday game and Manchester United hosts Villa in the second and last game of the day.

Saturday brings us four more fixtures. Spurs welcome in Leeds, Palace gets 3 easy points vs Sheffield, Brighton tangles with Wolves and in the last game we see Championship contenders West Brom play Arsenal.

Sunday gives us three more matchups. Burnley play Fulham, Toon take on Leicester and then Chelsea duke it out with City.

Monday sees the last remaining fixture when Saints take on Liverpool.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

I would like people views and opinions on this please,

They should put the Chelsea game into the GW18, it is on the Friday so there is no point in having it in GW19 when there is a Arsenal match on the Thursday (day before Chelsea), the GW should end on the Friday and it should then start the next GW on the Saturday like it usually does half an hour before the first match.

Want to bring in a MU def. Can only afford Lindelhof or Shaw.
Anyone know when Lindelhof will be back?
    Will Shaw keep his place?
    Thanks

I’ve suddenly changed my mind (again) about GW19 and I’m going to go for the BB now again! 😆 That’s provided with City getting their team back in order and then actually playing football games! But the reminder is this: bench boost is merely about your bench playing, so usually for most it’s about 2 defenders and 1 attacker and 1 goalie… I just was taking a look at GW19 and I already had 4 double defenders and Holding, and thought to myself gosh which ones I’m going to play? And so the BB is obvious for me smile Soucek is a cheap 5th mid and has great fixtures, a no-brainer for me for the 1 attacker on Bench boost!! I’ll have to take one hit for a goalie if I want, and I think I’ll do that just for the heck of it! Sometimes things work out themselves :good: But that’s only if covid doesn’t mess any more with us! Let’s see!

You don’t have to make your mind up tonight Zed :wink2:

I’m very happy to read that you are at peace with yourself and are plotting a steady course for the heavens.

I’m sure you’ll be fine and will accrue scores of points.

Re Covid, the situation in the UK at the moment is not good at all. As I’m sure you’re aware, there’s a very infectious strain that is steadily wearing down the health service here. 500 people are dying of it every day (current 7 day average). However. The games are yet to be postponed and it’s probably best to plan as if all is normal, when of course it isn’t. It’s a strange juxtaposition.

      • bees393 says:

Just awful Kralin. Same as by us in US. Here it is because of ignorant folk who don’t believe Covid is real and won’t wear masks. Not sure what is driving it by you..
        Happy New Year Mr K!

        • Kralin says:

          Happy new year Bees.

Here it’s a combination of catastrophic mismanagement multiplied by unbelievably high levels of public stupidity. Added to this is the new super strain of the virus, which is spreading like wildfire.

At least you have a chance to change direction there.

        • bees393 says:

So relieved to be ushering in a new administration…hoping for good things.
          Stay safe!

        • OddDane says:

Hi Bees, Put of curiosity where in the states are you based?
Congratulations on the new administration, hope they can usher in positive initiatives.

        • Dane, it’s San Francisco.
Although, bees is from South Africa smile

        • OddDane says:

          I see, thanks Ivan smile

          How’s the situation there?

I’ve family based in both SF and Boston. From what I hear things are relatively dire in Boston city, but in control. No clue about SF or Bay area though.

        • Dane, tbh I’ve lost a track. One thing I know is that here in London things ain’t that rosy. The hospitals are on a brink of collapse. We have a few very difficult months ahead.

        • ODT says:

I’m not terribly far from bees in the greater scheme of things. I reside in southern California, roughly 450 miles south of the bay area. Things are awful here, especially in my city. Huntington Beach is the epicenter of maskholes in California at the moment. My prayers are with everyone today. I hope we can beat this mess over the coming months.

      • Zed Leppelin says:

Yeah I know, at least the vaccinations have started as well… But as I said in the post, it’s IF everything goes smoothly (in a footballing sense)…

As a Finn though, it’s all very strange for me as covid here isn’t that bad at all, only 2-4 deaths daily, 561 deaths here overall! We are all living in different realities, normally as well as with regards to covid! My sympathies go to UK and everywhere else in the world where the situation is a lot worse than where I live in
