Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 9

‘Tis a weekend of three derbies in the Premier League and we are underway on Saturday lunchtime with the Merseyside variety (What? Liverpool? Saturday luncthime? After an international break?) – taking place at Anfield with Everton hopping over Stanley Park.

At 3pm, Simon and the boys (TM Init) host half of the weekend’s card with Bournemouth v Wolves, Brentford hosting Burnley, Manchester City v Brighton (which, why aren’t you on the TV?), Palace long-hauling upto the Tyne and Forest welcoming Luton.

Our second derby of the weekend sees London’s West meet North as Chelsea play Arsenal at the Bridge.

Sheffield United v Manchester United sees out a phenomenal Saturday’s action at Brammall Lane.

Take the rubbish to the dump, give the grass the final cut of the year, fix the dripping tap (or speak to the family if you are really desperate) as we don’t have any PL action until 4.30pm when Aston Villa play West Ham United. That’s our one and only.

The gameweek ends with a London Derby in N17 where Spurs lay out the welcome mat for Fulham. Monday at 8pm.

  1. Thinking about doing 3 transfer, would cost me -4.
Son, Alvarez & Ward-Prowse to Watkins, Saka & Mitoma.
    Is it worth it?

    • I don’t think so. At least not until we see how Son does this week.

      • Yes need to wait, but have exact money, mean may not be able to do it on Monday night.

    • Sell son and alvarez? Why?

    • I would not sell Alvarez…the fella scores in every game.

    • Feels like a bit of a sideways move to me. Some good fixtures on both sides of that transfer. Probably not for a hit.

      • Yes completely sideways transfers. The 1st 3 and the 2nd 3 are almost equal. Else do 2 transfers now for free and next week the 3rd one.

    • Why get rid of Alvarez?

      • Thought Watkins got better fixtures, he has Luton home next, hard to get him unless I sell either Alvarez or Haaland.

  2. Hey guys, is it worth bringing Tsimikas in for Botman?

    • I would, yes, assuming Robertson is out for a while. Pool could / should have 6 clean sheets in their next 7 games.

      • What about Lacellas for 3.9m? Will he make way for Botman?

        • Thanks guys.

        • Looks like Botman will be out for at least the next couple of weeks, going by Howe’s post match comments, “He wasn’t close today. Obviously I couldn’t say that yesterday but he hasn’t trained with us yet, so he’s got a bit of a way to go. We’re hopeful it won’t be too long but certainly, the next couple of weeks he won’t be fit.” – Eddie Howe on Sven Botman. That means probably GW 12 / 13 / 14 or so as he will have to start training, then be on the pitch, because normally Howe would not rush any player back in

    • Robertson is out till Jan, so Tsimikas is definitely someone you should bring in

  3. Anyone watch the Man Inited game? How is Hojlund settling in? Does he look like a Buy, Sell or Hold option for my Fantasy team?

    • I’d be in no rush to buy him, and probably wouldn’t hold him if I had him.

    • Hold off for now, United not clicking yet

      • Yup I wouldn’t get anyone from Manu to be honest. They struggled to beat even the worst team in the league

    • Thanks all. Will look to sell him then. Probably don’t want to risk too many more weeks without Haaland anyway.

    • I post a while ago I was shocked he’s gone up .2.

No returns yet and city next. I would not be buying yet

  4. Way too early transfer thoughts… Nakamba to Palmer?

  5. Villa v West Ham

  6. Benched Douglas Luis to play JWP dash

    • Oh dear!
I actually went down from 300k a few weeks ago to 500k, then 900k, and today I see that I have temporarily slipped below 2m! That is until Son, Maddie and Romero do a number for us tomorrow evening! And until I get Salah in for next GW! smile

      • AJW, usually there are goals from both teams between these two and WHU are slightly better but not today no

      • Was ranked at 4 million after GW 4 now I’m around 100k .
It can turn around at any moment.
        Keep the faith smile

    • Looking like a painful one

    • Ivan,

I’m sorry for the advice but I genuinely couldn’t split them and went on the basis of the likely assists.

Couldn’t have seen DL getting two though sorry

    • Ouch. Thats tough. I played bb this week. Got an ok 15 pts not great not terrible. But had diaby on bench instead. This was actually a good gw to play bb seeing the fixtures.

My ranks also have been wildly fluctuating. Went down from 194k to 961k in gw6 and now climbed back to inside 300k with triple spurs.to play tmrw.
