FPL Live Match Chat Gameweeks 18-20 Christmas Special

Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweeks 18-20 Christmas Special

Three GW’s, what does that mean?
It means there’s three of them, Gary.

Rather than have a new Live Match Chat every five minutes over Christmas we shall have this one live for the duration. Usually we list out the fixtures but given that there are 29 games in total over the next 13 days we will leave you with the pretty pictures below. In short though the key things that you need to know are the deadlines for each, which are as follows;

GW18 Thursday 21st December 6.30pm GMT

GW19 Tuesday 26th December 11am GMT

GW20 Saturday 30th December 11am GMT

A bit of housekeeping before we leave you to it – there will be an FF247 Site Team article posted in-between each GW, and likewise with a new prediction competition for each one from Harry & Lloyd.

Whatever you are up to over the next few weeks may we take this opportunity to wish you and yours all the best for the Christmas and New Year period from everyone at FF247.

The games in full…

GW18

GW19

GW20

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek XX from all at FF247!

Thanks for reading FPL Live Match Chat Gameweeks 18-20 Christmas Special.

How about a live Gabo? If everyone posts up their questions I’ll round up some contributors to answer them?

      • MattX says:

        Yep, you ask, I’ll answer

        • OddDane says:

How high do you rank on expected Matts vs actual Matts (xMatt)?

        • AJW says:

          Okay Rosco. Good idea.
What about, ‘Best midfielders to replace Huey, Dewey and Louis (ie. Salah, Son, Hwang & Co) but which could give you a boost over the pack?
For people like yours truly who’ve been hovering between 1m-2m!
Or, Any special tactics to use this year specifically?
          Thanks dudes!
(Or in the extreme case, ‘Do you prefer a tight fit, or loose cotton boxers?’. But maybe thats a bit personal) smile

        • MattX says:

Excellent question OD. I’m very much a Luis Suarez style player with a high conversion rate. I’m performing high actual Matts from the minute I wake up to the minute I sleep!

        • MattX says:

AJW – My top three would be Olise, Gross and Jota. If you are looking to possibly get up the ranks.

If you want to play it more safe then I’d go boring and say Bowen, Ode (assuming you have Saka) and Foden

          P.S Tight Fit Cotton victory

        • Rosco says:

AJW, if I were on a WC right now (it has been considered) then my midfield of choice would be Palmer, Bowen, Gross, Foden and Saka. I could be swayed with Jota over Foden although after that dive against the Toon he’s top of my sh!t list… that said I did have salah (C) so it worked out ok in that respect!

        • AJW says:

Hahaha, thanks fellows. Wearing a tight fit cotton blend myself… Oops, I meant I have Foden, Palmer, Saka, plus Son and Salah. Was considering Bowen, Jota (sorry Rosco), Richo, Olise as well as Odegaard to replace boring old Saka in a couple of game weeks. Hmm, thanks again! HHappy nnew yyear and speak to you soon. AJW.

        • AJW says:

So many choices, so few players from my team going to AFCON and Asia Cup!!!! smile

        • Smash says:

Palmer, Richarlison, Bowen, Saka, Odegaard, Gross. Not a Foden fan now everyone is fit again think boat has sailed on that one and could see reduced mins again

      • AllanBrallan says:

Trying to come up with one of those silly questions….

    KI says:

Olise/Eze or Richarlison to replace Son (and raise cash for Haaland’s return), assuming all three get through their Cup games?

    • 120.1
      MattX says:

I like Olise the most out of those but it depends on his hamstring if he is out then Rich is the obvious choice although I do kind of worry about Spurs with Son and Sarr now gone so they could be vulnerable in midfield and the back.

    • 120.2
      Rosco says:

Given that Olise is flagged I’d hold off for now but he’d by my pick over those two options. I do like Gross though as a more left field pick!

      • AJW says:

Ah I forgot to mention Gross! smile

        • AJW says:

I guess this is a kind of honorable thing to aim for, but over 2 game weeks, as I’ve found (the hard way) that hits this year are a huge penalty to your team (except when they work out I suppose!), so would do this for GW 21 & 22. How I get Salah back in is difficult to fathom atm, but I’ll tinker with possibilities – may have to be a WC around GW 27 or so.
See yahs soon – as you can see, even with a mountain of work to do at home and at my job, I can still find time to spend an hour or 3 on everyone’s favourite procrastinatory subject…FPL!
          😉

        • Rosco says:

If you don’t already I can highly recommend FPL team app which is great for planning ahead!

        • AJW says:

          Hey Rosco,

Just downloaded it – it’s fantastic. I canna believe that I’ve gone all this time wi’out it! I’ve heard people mentioning ‘Plan FPL’ etc etc, but I thought they were talking about ‘Planet FPL’, and I thought, ‘oh, not another bloody site/podcast!!!’
But this seems to be a genuinely good application – shall have to show my appreciation to them. I hope you can feel my appreciation for all your efforts old mate! I wouldn’t want to go along seeming like a ‘parasite’, and showing no recognition of your dedication to helping people like us! 😉 Cheers!

        • Rosco says:

Haha don’t bee silly mate! Yeah I couldn’t do without it! It’s great for planning ahead and has been great from stopping me make silly impulse moves! Glad you find it helpful! drinks
