Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2017-18 Part 1

As you should all be aware we are now entering crunch time for the season. The DGWs are on the horizon and a Blank GW is even closer still. In addition to Cezary’s superb article on how to negotiate GW31, we have again turned to some FPL ‘experts’ as to what plans they are making for GW31 and also some other more general FPL topics. And of course we finish in a more light-hearted fashion as we allow our panel to express their views on some easy targets!

Our article is split into two groups. In this episode we have the old codgers – three people who helped to found FF247 and play an active day-to-day role in ensuring the site is what it is. You know them all well and they should need little introduction. However, that wouldn’t be any fun.

First up is Mito. Always willing to offer very candid advice, our resident Colombian is nowhere more at home than on twitter as he torments suffering fans – preferably Arsenal, Man Utd or Liverpool ones if he could choose!

Joining Mito is Init. Not much gets past Init, he remembers everything you’ve ever said, any controversial or embarrassing comment ever made. But in a nice, jokey way. Sort of! Oh and he’s pretty good at FPL too (mandatory compliment ticked!).

Completing the set is Kop. Happy, chirpy, smiling Kop. Always positive and looking on the bright side of life, Kop is always there when the chips are down to remind you that there is always someone worse off than yourself!

That’s enough waffling, let’s see what divine wisdom the old gits have for us.

  1. And another great edition of Bore Off! lads. Providing useful fantasy knowledge/advice (I think) and laugh-out-loud comedy, all in one borderline homoerotic/bestial write-up. Your love for Giroud and dogs showering is unmatched, even on this special Valentine’s Day edition.

    • In deed Sanchez. Nevermind their love for Rosco… poor lad.

      • I’ll take it anywhere I can get it! 😉

        • Evidently! I’ll admit I tried and failed to find that pic of your dog licking your balls.

        • I can’t imagine what you mean. His soccer balls?

        • Rather large balls to boot.

    • The Giroud one does need some context, especially the Carvalhal bit! From Team News last week…. smile

      • Oh, yes, I remember this… pants-dropping, crotch-grabbing stuff indeed.

  2. Don’t forget to do any CL subs and Capo switches.

  3. Captain Salah scores. Good.

    • Yup, need another few goals/assists from him.

  4. Mane back to form?

    • Yes is my answer

      • In ‘scoring’ form yes, he hasn’t been playing badly by any means in the league. And just seems to always score in the UCL.

    • Like Sanchez said, he hasn’t been playing badly in the league, always works hard and gets involved.

The problem recently is with Salah and Firminio scoring for fun, he’s become increasingly greedy and wastes a fair few opportunities for goals and assists because he tries to do too much himself.

Hopefully this hat trick gives him the confidence he needed and he’ll be a big FPL player again.

    • Saves me posting before the next GW to get opinions on whether to triple up my ‘pool attack with Mane or bring in VVD. I think tonight settled that question! laugh

    • See this from the Prophet Mito above smile

      • Mad prophet?

      • He called it and was spot on. Just on the wrong competition! :hippo:

  5. Boom! smile

  6. Where is the sprint of Valentine’s Day gone awfuley quote on here great result for the Pool 😉

    • If anyone wants me to translate that I can smile

Yes it’s awfully quiet but then again it usually is on the Tuesday before a weekend with no FPL smile Plus it’s Valentines Day…

    • The sprint of Valentine’s Day? I think it’s on the red button, at the Winter Olympics.
