Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2017-18

The International break is here and it is of course time for another edition of Bore Off! This time we have given the 3 Amigos a break and found their possible replacements in the near future. 😉 Bry is welcomed in, many of you know him from his other work on the site or perhaps you have seen him busking on the tube in Japan. Banjo also joins us, luckily for him we have only asked him to answer questions and not make the coffee. However, I would still keep my distance as he answers, for your own safety. Last and least (according to FPL) is Smash, who we have asked as a form of therapy for him. Hey, let us get on with it and see what The Last SamuBry, Wilshere x8 and Hulk Smash have to say about their seasons so far and what is to come.

On a WC and experimenting with different set ups.

Thought about a mid-Field of DeBruyne, Coutino and Hazard. Might as well get the best, and build team around them.

What are Firminio game time security like. Started the year well until Mane was suspended. Will he get the central position back and start most games?

What do you think of team, too fat in the middle?

A weekend with no FPL and England have already qualified. At least Pompey are on the TV tomorrow!

Anyway, I’m concerned at no City or Chelsea attack (presuming Morata’s out). Do I…

    1) Morata to Jesus
    2) Morata & Mkhi to Vardy & Hazard (for -4)

Jesus, Vardy & Hazard all have favourable fixtures, but particularly Hazard v Palace!

If I do option two it’ll almost certainly be Laca to Jesus the following week.

    I’ve got 1.2 ITB and 1FT.

    Cheers!

I prefer option 1 Banjo. City are playing very well and are capable of scoring 3/4/5 goals in most games. I realise Chelsea are also capable of this but they haven’t been as convincing.

Thanks Kop. Option 1 is certainly the safer play. Like you say, City are scoring for fun, and you’d imagine that’ll continue against Stoke. Barring any others injuries, these are the moves I’m looking at making over the next couple of GW’s, so I guess it just comes down to the best order, i.e. play the fixture and attack Chelsea v Palace this week, or side with form and grab Jesus, then look to Hazard / Vardy the following week.

    Afternoon

What do you think to the following moves?

Alli, Lukaku and Morata to coutinho, Kane and Jesus for a -8

      banjomaker says:

      I like the moves… but don’t like the -8 😉

Lukaku (against a leaky Liverpool) could easily outscore Kane. Alli could easily ourscore Coutinho ( against a solid Man U). Can’t you just do Morata to Jesus this week and work on the others over the next week or two?

      Pancho says:

Mitro, I agree with Banjo here on the -8. I’d say just pick 2 of these moves that you think will pay off this week and reassess after that. I think the Alli -> Coutinho one is probably the best in my opinion. After that, if Morata is fit then I’d actually consider sticking with him and Lukaku for the week. Kane and Jesus could both do really well this week, but not sure they will each make up for a -4. Safer to stick, but if you think they’ll score one more than Lukaku/Morata then go for it.

I assume the end goal here is really just to get and captain Kane? But that’s not happening via the Morata route without a major downgrade elsewhere?

Alright all, Thinking of this as potential moves for next GW: Morata (if out) and Mikhi -> Haz & Vardy.
    Thoughts???

      Rosco77 says:

Evening Ben, noticed you’ve already used your FT to bring in Batman for Morata so I’m guessing any further moves require a hit?
My initial thoughts are your defence looks a little lightweight and you lack city coverage. Perhaps next week you could look to bring in a city mid for Mkhi?

      • GentleBenAKA says:

Evening Rosco cheers yes any changes will be a hit. Mkhi–>City mid sounds like a good shout if he’s going cold and lots of others in my leagues have him. Defence is admittedly light but I don’t have any spare cash (once I bring Morata back in)

        • Rosco77 says:

Mkhi to Sterling will likely be the move I make later this week, if you made this move it will give you a little extra cash so perhaps you can look to change Hegazi in the forthcoming weeks depending on how things go with Morata.
An alternative to bringing back Morata may be to switch to Vardy when Morata returns, then you could turn Alli to Hazard if he starts performing. Obviously best laid plans and all that but some good options for you to weigh up!

        • GentleBenAKA says:

          Thanks Rosco! Awesome! Much appreciated!

    Nike_007 says:

I have two transfers saved up, so I need to make at least one. At the other end, I may not be averse to taking a -4 hit, if needed and warranted. So that’s basically between one to three moves.
    Any recommendations?
