Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2018-19

Oh yeah, with FPL back that also means ‘Bore off’ returns. I have went back to that old well and gathered the 3 amigos up for you to get their thoughts on some of the questions that we all want answered as the season draws closer.

For those that don’t know them or don’t know them well, let me introduce you to them.

Init is one of our site owners, he enjoys being a disciplinarian, hates typos and those with a lack of attention to detail. He also would prefer to not take walks on the beach and is not fond of puppies. Other than that, he is a great guy.

Cookie is also a site owner. He lives in Monaco, enjoys laying on the beach and taking pictures while he drinks his wine. He doesn’t like to hear about the details and enjoys typos.

Kop also a site owner and overall grouch, might be last on this list, but he is certainly not least, in particular in the grumpy category. If you ever need a pick me up, look somewhere else!!

Ok, enough of the heartfelt intros, let’s get it on!

FIXTURE TRACKER 2018/19

It’s been a busy summer already with Arsenal, Everton, West Ham and Chelsea appointing new managers, Manchester City adding to their already dominant squad, Man Utd continuing to splash the cash and Liverpool trying to protect Karius by beefing up their midfield. Spurs may even have a new home soon.

And FPL wise, this is the place to discuss strategy, learn about the promoted teams and their players while in the days and weeks to come we’ll have plenty of articles, interviews, player analysis, Bore Offs, Tips, etc, etc.

So be sure to get involved in the discussions, the RMTs and the banter as we look forward to another season of Fantasy fun!

Init needs a slap for ‘bottom 3’.

Good read. It’s always good to see what other people’s plans are. Anyway regarding Lookman at 5.5m, I think he’s gone. Everton I think will 100% sell Lookman as the player himself wants the move. Those Red Bull guy’s will keep in with a bigger bid and then it’s bye bye.

Hope you’re wrong Ant. Seems such a shame and a waste to be selling players like that whilst tabling big bids for relative unknowns like Malcolm. Silva did say Lookman was firmly in his plans but as you say depends what he wants himself. Wait & see.

Love it boys! Great laugh as always.

One question I have that I’d like opinions on is:

With attackers and midfielders being a bit more difficult to pick due to WC duty or rotation worries. Do you guys think an early WC is important this season and to set up for the first 5/6 weeks so we see which players are playing, bargains appear and we just get a more general idea of how managers are thinking?

    Smash says:

Is Lovren likely to be first choice. I know he might miss first game but is he likely to get nod over Matip

      Matt says:

Yeah I don’t see Matip being a regular in the side. Wouldn’t be surprised if he leaves but that is less likely.

      • Smash says:

Yeah I want a Liverpool defender just unsure who to go with. I hate spending 6 million on a defender and Liverpool have some good potential players at 5 million

        • Matt says:

Yeah I actually teetering between Lovren and Robertson right now. There was only 1 point between the two last season so for a mil less you might not be too far off points wise. Only thing that is making me favour Robertson right now is the fact I don’t really know what to do with the left over mil.

        • Colriles says:

Matt – are people avoiding TAA because we think he’ll be rotated with Gomez or drop to the bench entirely? Could they not lineup Robertson – VVD – Lovren – TAA ?

        • Matt says:

Hey Colriles. I’m ignoring TAA because I feel he might get rotated. He’s faces competition from Gomez and Clyne so Klopp can rest him. Unless Klopp comes out and says TAA is his RB I’m leaving him out. Best way into Liverpools team right now is VVD or Robertson. No WC and no competition to face really.

Fulham signing jean michael serri passed me buy. I don’t think he’ll be good fpl wise but what a coup for Fulham.
