Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2018-19

Oh yeah, with FPL back that also means ‘Bore off’ returns. I have went back to that old well and gathered the 3 amigos up for you to get their thoughts on some of the questions that we all want answered as the season draws closer.

For those that don’t know them or don’t know them well, let me introduce you to them.

Init is one of our site owners, he enjoys being a disciplinarian, hates typos and those with a lack of attention to detail. He also would prefer to not take walks on the beach and is not fond of puppies. Other than that, he is a great guy.

Cookie is also a site owner. He lives in Monaco, enjoys laying on the beach and taking pictures while he drinks his wine. He doesn’t like to hear about the details and enjoys typos.

Kop also a site owner and overall grouch, might be last on this list, but he is certainly not least, in particular in the grumpy category. If you ever need a pick me up, look somewhere else!!

Ok, enough of the heartfelt intros, let’s get it on!

FIXTURE TRACKER 2018/19

It’s been a busy summer already with Arsenal, Everton, West Ham and Chelsea appointing new managers, Manchester City adding to their already dominant squad, Man Utd continuing to splash the cash and Liverpool trying to protect Karius by beefing up their midfield. Spurs may even have a new home soon.

And FPL wise, this is the place to discuss strategy, learn about the promoted teams and their players while in the days and weeks to come we’ll have plenty of articles, interviews, player analysis, Bore Offs, Tips, etc, etc.

So be sure to get involved in the discussions, the RMTs and the banter as we look forward to another season of Fantasy fun!

  1. Hi all..need some advise..its good or bad my line up..thanks

    • In terms of your bench, Peltier of Cardiff seems to be a 4m player who may play. When I gleaned that he was straight onto the bench for me. But I’m not 100% sure he will start. It’s a risk I may take as that 0.5 really helps.

Stephens is a good bench choice.

As you have Ederson you may as well get a 4m goalie. No need for Fab.

With the savings described above you could upgrade Benteke to Zaha.

Despite the utter ballache of trying to predict Man City’s starting line up (though the Charity Shield may give us a clue) I’d try to tinker to get another one of their players in. They’ve got seriously good fixtures and you could jettison Eriksen to accommodate whoever it may be.

  2. Anyone interested in looking through pre-season info, I am trying to keep it all updated here.

    • If you go to premier league pre season friendlies 2018 they have a full pre season schedule for every club and links to the club’s main website review for each friendly

      • Would rather read Mito’s comprehensive document!

        • Yeah I want to help. Mito possibly already knows about it but if he didn’t it’s a very handy place to get the info he needs

        • I see. My bad – misunderstanding laugh

        • Settle down AT. Damn puppy! 😉

        • @Cimon, thanks. I have been looking through team’s match reports, but the closed door ones are tricky. Because they don’t report much nor are they even scheduled. Arsenal twitter never reported a game they had yesterday nor did anyone even have it as scheduled. It was like….SURPRISE!!…
          smile

        • Oh FFS!! just found out they had another closed door super secret game today.

    • Interesting reading, Mito. Everton winning 22-0 is hilarious!

    • Thx Mito

      • Indeed. I really appreciate the standardized format. And much easier reading-I don’t need to squint through some of the challenging print.

    • This link is on the Hot Topics for reference now Mito. Probably be on every article too but just in case and all that, especially with the new ‘Editors’ smile

  3. If Jota stays up top, he will be hard to pass up also.

  4. Afternoon all.

Mito, (or anyone else) is there still a FF247 Fantasy NFL league going on? If so, any spots open for this year?

And… Mito – Have you changed your phone number? The number i had for you appears to now belong to a woman. Or have you finally had the op as we all suspected you would?

    • Are you referring to his WhatsApp image, Chins? If so, I think you still have the correct number haha

    • Ha ha smile

    • Funny how he didn’t mention that when he contacted me, he appeared as Sandra. smile

      • That was me?!?! Damn, i thought that was you. How the fudge has that happened?! I’m waaaaaay cooler than “Sandra”. I should be at least a Chantelle!

  5. I thought they finally got it right, but not entirely. Players still can be sold to Europe after the EPL starts :shake:
    http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/11231990/two-transfer-deadline-days-in-august

    • I guess the crux of it is:
‘Premier League clubs will no longer be able to make signings when the season gets underway, but the change does not apply to other leagues, meaning Premier League players will still be able to move abroad up until August 31.’

So there’s still time to offload the deadwood; it’s only half bad : ).

    • Players can always be sold to other leagues Ivan as long as THEIR window is open, needn’t have the selling league’s window open.
