Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2018-19

Oh yeah, with FPL back that also means ‘Bore off’ returns. I have went back to that old well and gathered the 3 amigos up for you to get their thoughts on some of the questions that we all want answered as the season draws closer.

For those that don’t know them or don’t know them well, let me introduce you to them.

Init is one of our site owners, he enjoys being a disciplinarian, hates typos and those with a lack of attention to detail. He also would prefer to not take walks on the beach and is not fond of puppies. Other than that, he is a great guy.

Cookie is also a site owner. He lives in Monaco, enjoys laying on the beach and taking pictures while he drinks his wine. He doesn’t like to hear about the details and enjoys typos.

Kop also a site owner and overall grouch, might be last on this list, but he is certainly not least, in particular in the grumpy category. If you ever need a pick me up, look somewhere else!!

Ok, enough of the heartfelt intros, let’s get it on!

FIXTURE TRACKER 2018/19

It’s been a busy summer already with Arsenal, Everton, West Ham and Chelsea appointing new managers, Manchester City adding to their already dominant squad, Man Utd continuing to splash the cash and Liverpool trying to protect Karius by beefing up their midfield. Spurs may even have a new home soon.

And FPL wise, this is the place to discuss strategy, learn about the promoted teams and their players while in the days and weeks to come we’ll have plenty of articles, interviews, player analysis, Bore Offs, Tips, etc, etc.

So be sure to get involved in the discussions, the RMTs and the banter as we look forward to another season of Fantasy fun!

To rotate keepers or not to rotate keepers?

For many years I’ve gone with 2 rotating 4.5m goalkeepers (allows more money to spend on the outfield players etc). However, I’m considering a premium GK+a 4m GK.

Is there any data/research to support either tactic? It’s much more fun rotating GKs but would like to see some proper stats before I set my heart on it (if anyone knows where I could find them).

If the news that Liverpool are selling ward to Leicester is true dies anyone else think schmeical might be off somewhere as I can’t see them spending that on a sub keeper.

Fingers crossed it’s Chelsea to replace courtois as i quite fancy Chelsea defensive cover for 5.0

3rd draft. To Salah or not is the greatest dilemma. With almost 50% ownership, if he starts scoring it will be almost impossible to buy him them.

It won’t be impossible, it will just take a hit. smile

Nice team that, really like that midfield. United has been the best defence 3 years running in terms of clean sheets, City was second last season, so someone from their team in the back would help. However, I no longer see LFC as an inferior side defensively, they have made some outstanding additions, so Robertson should be able to match any Manchester defensive player. To afford those mids and Auba sacrifices have to be made. I like the side

        1st time playing
        My team
        Foster/Ederson
        Daniels/ Davies/ Robertson/ Tomkins/ Mee
        Lamela/ Sigurdsson/ Sane/ Salah/ Lallana
        Zaha/ Tosun/ Woods

        • Hi 2PS

I think you need to strengthen your strikers there. I would try to upgrade Tosun to Firmino.

I would drop Lallana ego are best will only play every now and again. He’s too risky to start with I think. Lamela is the same but I see him perhaps starting the season due to Tottenham’s World Cup involvement. Sigurdsson may also be a fine inclusion.

I would try to save a little money here and there Foster could become a 4.0 goalkeeper for example assuming you’ll play a Ederson every week. You could look at replacing Mee with a 4.5 defender from one of the promoted sides ego rotates week with Daniels and a Tomkins.

That’s on the assumption you play three in defence.

    Morning

    How is everyone?

Had another tinker, what do you reckon? Should I keep kun or downgrade to firmino and then upgrade one of my midfielders or keeper?

      Kralin says:

I would keep Kun and move Auba out for Firmino. He can come back in easily enough. With that bounty then the likes of Robertson become affordble.
