Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! – Fantasy Premier League 2020-21

International break time always means a Bore Off.

I have gathered three of my esteemed colleagues and have asked them to answer some questions for us to the best of their ability.

I also asked for site members to provide any questions they wanted answering and many obliged, one in particular had quite a few!

Some really great stuff was asked and hopefully this edition of Bore Off can provide you with some good answers to said questions. I want to send a special thanks to all who jumped in at a moments notice to either ask a question or take part in answering them.

Well, without further ado, let us see what the boys had to say.

Thanks for reading Grab, Avoid or Bore Off!. This article was written by Mito21.

  1. Which wild card team is better? Any other suggestions welcomed!

    • Team A

    • Team B

      • I slightly prefer B, but could you adapt it to have Sterling and Brewster instead of Bruno and Watkins? The extra cash might then be enough to upgrade Justin to Castagne, and one of Ryan/McCarthy to Martinez. You could also upgrade Stephens to Oriel / Bissouma (i.e. someone more likely to get an attacking return than Stephens).

        • Thank you, I will see what I can do.

        • +1 Team B like Chpster said Sterling and Brewster better option

      • Likewise, I like both but just about prefer B, mainly because of Kane. Feels like we are in a period of goals so I’d take him over Robbo right now.

        • Thank you, it’s difficult to get all the attacking players in now.

  2. Great read as always guys. :big-lol:
Activated my WC and was tinkering through the possible teams.
Was thinking of what possible team I could have by having the bare minimum of defenders.

0.3 mil would help me a great deal to get in better players for the non playing ones. But I highly doubt I’d make 0.3 mil from players I wouldn’t want in my team.
But that front 7 looks very enticing.
Any thoughts on said strategy with no premium defenders.?

    • Dunne could be Mitchell and I’d have 3 playing defenders. If Mitchell loses his place I’d jump on the Ferguson bandwagon.

    • Swap Pulisic for Grealish or a 6 or 6.5,Davis to Brewster and improve your defence to include another 4 5 nailed on. Maybe Douglas to Dallas, and you should have fundds to improve further.
With the way players are going down with the virus and injuries I think it is worth having a full playing squad.

  3. Love a good GABO. Many thank fellas. Resisting the WC after a horrid week as I don’t hate the look of my team. But feel free to trample my plan if you’d like! smile

  4. Suggestions?

    • I suppose the weeks you start Brewster and if he doesn’t play, you could always promote your fourth defender up to first sub ahead of Stephens.

Very good then in that case.

    • It’s a decent team, but I’m not keen on playing 4 at the back given the lack of clean sheets. Not sure Brewster is nailed. I’d quite like to see one more nailed decent attacker in a 3-5-2 and maybe Brewster 1st on the bench.

      • Whom to downgrade?

        • Saiss to a 4.5 gives you enough to do Stephens to Soucek.
Or even Chilwell to a 5 mil defender.

  5. I’ve only just read the GABO and I was in it!

Thank you to Init and Cookie for some brilliant answers and the Legend for collating but most importantly to you lot, the lovely listeners, for your superb questions.

    Happy Friday :drinks:

    • Serious GP?
You played a starring role old mate! You were the voice of reason, reaching from beyond the Borders and Hadrian’s right into our living room Sunshine!
      Good on you! smile

      • Been a busy week at work and I couldn’t get to the pub before 6pm because of it and now I’m locked out of them for two weeks!

        Thanks mate.

        • Och – it’s cheaper to have a pint at home! smile Not as much fun admittedly!

  6. Hey everybodie – sorry to annoy youse all again, but just wondering about my backline (DEF).
    ATM I have Mitchell – Robbo – KWP – Cresswell – Kilman (4m WOL),

But would it be more judicious to replace KWP – Cressie – Killer > Lamptey – Ferguson – Masuaku?
I mean BHU have better fixtures than SOT, and Lamptey is showing some promise & Masuaku did well the other day, and he’s an affordable WHU defender. Would still leave me with 0 ITB at the end, so ‘Saul Goodman’!

I dunno people! Gonna have a drink! smile

    • or keep KWP & just put in Lamptey & Fergo for Cressie & Killer???

    • Nah,save your transfers and play what you have. Defence doesn’t matter at the moment as any defender might get a cleanie but most will be a 1 or 2 pointer.
I have Keane as my “expensive “defender and he will be benched against Pool.
