Another DGW, oh the excitement! Well ok, this one involves Brighton, Brentford, Saints and Palace, but…
The cause for optimism is that the former pair combined for 7 goals last week. The latter two slightly less excitingly so, with just a solitary goal between them.
Despite the DGW this one is a pretty condensed schedule with the first ten games all on Saturday and Sunday, and the last two both on Wednesday. On to the action itself…
Will the real Liverpool please stand up… they did last week, Bournemouth will be hoping they don’t again, in the early game at 12.30pm. The reverse fixture was 9-0……….
The 3pm games all reek of desperation, mainly relegation, but also otherwise. Brentford and Brighton are the exceptions and they go to Everton and Leeds respectively. Leicester vs Chelsea and Spurs vs Forest both represent different challenges and problems for all involved.
Palace and Man City see Saturday out at 5.30pm, both with similarly diverse needs.
On Sunday we have three 2pm games as Fulham welcome Arsenal, Saints go to Man Utd and Villa travel to West Ham.
Newcastle and Wolves clash in the later game at 4.30pm.
A few days break then before our DGW’ers enter the fold again on Wednesday, both at 7.30pm, with Brighton v Palace and Saints v Brentford.
Don’t forget or get complacent though as GW28 then begins less than 2 days later with a Friday deadline.

Playing Gakpo and benching Martinelli could be one of my biggest f ups in recent times

I played Martinelli luckily but benched Zinchenko..
Who put the Yellow flag on Odegaard? I benched Saka, but seeing the flag benched Odegaard.
Anyway, nothing has gone right in this GW (as usual though).
I have Ødegaard on the bench,
In my WC I did Martinelli > Saka
I played Mee over Zinchenko
I captained Toney over Mitoma
The only thing I did right this week was not fall into the Liverpool trap!!!
But this DGW I should have made-up but I have not

Should I play the WC or just get one more player and make the 8 for the BGW?
What about FH?
It crossed my mind Piksi but think the FH could come more useful later on.
I would FH that team. Actually it’s very close to mine and I reckon the diff between 1FT and FH is going to be 25 points for me. Let’s see and I’ll stand or crash by my decision soon!
Otieno, FH sounds good but I was planning to use it for DGW29 and WC before DGW34 which is rumoured to be a big one. Anyhow, we have a week and things could change before the next round.
I am along the same lines as you Ivan.
I currently have 8 players in dgw but includes Greenwood (Leeds).
I could use FH, but would be a waste.
I intend on using it for dgw29 like you.
And again, like you, wc gw33, but will be bb dgw34
Hammerfan, I am starting to doubt myself and think maybe wildcarding GW28 it’s not a bad idea after all.
DGW34 will be much smaller with 4 or max 6 teams on double. Plus, in GW33 we have Spurs vs Man U and City vs Arsenal which are tricky fixtures to navigate. Maybe leave the FH for GW32 when very likely Man U, City, Chelsea and Brighton will blank.
Ivan, kind of understand what you are saying, but someone, or some people said a while a go that dgw34 was going to be bigger than dgw29, so surely that is the best week to BB, hence why I would think wc in gw33 is better? Or am I wrong?
Yes, gw32 might have alot of blanks in it, but not sure it will be many.
As for gw29, can you not FH if you cant negotiate it . Surely waste of a WC
Ivan, here is my almost identical team, tweaked so I can get Haaland in.
My only concern is Johnson being flagged.

Yes, Johnson was one of my brain farts suggestions last week due to the fixtures but now I think it’s a bit dodgy.
Personally would go with Watkins as a safer bet.
Hammerfan, initially it was expected to be a big one but not anymore. As I said above, the teams which will double are 4 or 6, they can be moved to GW 37 as well. Too much uncertainties tbh. The only risk going for the WC now is the long IB when some injuries could happen but BB in DGW29 is too good to miss.
My first draft is in post 35.
I have looked at your draft, and have done an almost similar team, just in case I decide to do the same. And, like you, have kept money ITB to get Haaland back.
If I go down this route, it will save the FH as well for another week.

Definitely can do the Watkins->Haaland move though – definitely have to do that!!
Hammerfan, if I do Martinelli↔Bruno for GW29 will be left with 2.7 and might have to take a hit to bring back Erling in GW30 but that’s a long way to worry about
18 points in the bench…a good BB score. Most likely to BB in 29 and after 29 can say whether it was a good decision.
